Frustrating - Infuriating - Beautiful!

Let's face it - we all love a good-looking game. While some "purists" out there might claim that looks or graphics don't matter, we all know that that's not true. When we launch a game, like Wreckless, and take a look at the screen, we all want to run out and call our spouse, sibling or friend to check it out. And graphically speaking, this is a title worth checking out! The problem with the game is that it is extremely tough, in a way that becomes frustrating and infuriating. This is an arcade type game, which requires the player to repeat levels over and over again until the figure out the "key" to beating it. I, unfortunately, am not that patient.

So, give the game two stars for how it looks, and one star for how it plays. That's three stars, which makes it better than average. The look on the non-gamers face when they see it is worth the price of admission.

Do not buy this game.

Have you ever gone to the store, bought a game, gone home and popped it in, then turned it off 15 minutes later in disgust and realized you may have been better off spending the money on a rubiks cube? (that'll keep you busy longer). Well that's how most people are going to feel after buying this game. With an exception to the Beautiful graphics and appeal to younger gameplayers, this game is a waste of time, money and the plastic it was printed on. Theirs no leaving your car, theirs no free driving option, all you do is crash into other cars, that's IT! Spend your money on a game you can sit down and play for more than a half an hour, like HALO!

As if the game ... wasn't bad enough. Can somebody please explain to me what the Yakuza is doing in Hong Kong and not in Japan???

A game that finally utilizes the Xbox graphics potential.

A quick and easy comparison for the style of gameplay would be Playstation 2's Grand Theft Auto 3. The only difference is that you don't get to walk around outside of the car, and you don't get guns...but...the graphics are phenomenal. This game fully utilizes the Xbox's potential as a graphical powerhouse. The streets are full of life and people, it almost looks real!

There are two scenarios that each have about a dozen levels on them. As you progress through the game you earn new cars. The levels are huge and sprawling as well.

This game is a lot of fun, and if you're looking for something feed your GTA 3 appetite, but you don't have a PS2, then get this game, you'll greatly enjoy it.

This game is awesome. A lot of people rate this game poorly because there is no free roam mode. First of all, the time limits are pretty good and so you can just ignore the mission and drive around wherever u want. Another bad thing is that there is no two player mode. Hopefully there will be a sequal with free roam and multiplayer modes, or a booster disc (like DOA3 will have). Unlocking the hidden cars is fun, such as the monster truck or taxi cab. Anyway, buy this game if you want to do the sometimes fun mission or just ride around smashing things up for about 2-3 minutes per turn. Don't buy this game if you are looking forward to driving as long as you want with NO boundaries at all.

You have got to be kidding me. What was the X box thinking. Wreckless has to be the worst game in history. Sure the graphics are okay but the driving [stinks]. This is no Grand Theft Auto 3 or Grand Truismo 3 Aspec. I played it for 5 minutes and was already sick of it. The Sounds [are bad] in this game and if I were you I would spend my money on a game like Halo or something else like this. Sorry being rude and all but you have to put some thought in the game. It's nothing like you see on T.V.

Good game, good have been a lot better

To start off, I really like this game. It is fun and entertaining, and still keeps me amused after I have beaten it. But it could have been much better if there were a few more features. For one, this game has no multiplayer, with is a major downside. Second, there is no option to just roam around the city, which I would have loved. And third, the game is too short, with only 30 missions, most of which are fairly easy to beat. My advice, RENT THIS GAME FIRST, and if you want a short but fun game, buy it.

It is a very fun game - highly recommend

I am a tough critic when it comes to video games. Knowing a lot of people have ripped this title because of controls, physics and other things- I say this - it doesn't matter. This game is FUN. It is challenging but not too difficult to accomplish the missions- although it is a little short - but hey who wants to play a game forever. I loved this game - the graphics are great, the suspense is there, and it keeps you interested. A great game to show off to your friends about what the XBOX is all about. Highly Recommend!

Crash, jump, crash, ram, crash, plow, and crash.

The graphics and effects in this game are top notch; and may bring you to your knees if you happen to own a HDTV widescreen. The cars handle wonderfully; except they are a tad on the floaty side. It is true that every last mission is time based; but that doesnt mean you cant go back to any one of them and simply go for a joy ride around the massive city that makes up the game. If you dont have a lot of time to invest in a game, then this is a sure-fire hit. The longest you could play any one level is about 7 minutes; and that's just about perfect for those times you're waiting on someone to get ready before you can leave. I find myself popping it in for a whirl quite often while I wait for my wife to get ready. Besides, it can be quite relaxing to plunge into traffic going the wrong way on an over-crouded freeway (not to mention satisfying when the cars get torn apart and ram into one another in a chain reaction).

Hype

I rented this game from blockbuster, hoping it would be a spin off of GTA3, focusing on the yakuza gang. It isn't. Thiis game has some of the best graphics ever, but worst sound, and gameplay. The Controls are ok, but what mainly got this game a one, was that you can't play the song on the x-box harddrive with this game and there is no 2 player mode. The missions are sometimes ridiculously hard to beat, trust me. If you have already bought this game, either return it or sell it to amazon.com. I am sure... glad i rented this game before i bought it. It is all Hype.
