WRECKLESS--A Must Have for any XBOX Gamer.

I don't even own this game yet (It has yet to come out) and I already know that it will be a hit. It recieved editors choice from the official XBOX Magizne, and supposedly has the best graphics engine on any XBOX game yet. Yes, better then Dead or Alive 3.

I know that the idea of this game is Midtown-City racing, but that is not the whole idea. You have to destroy everything in your path. This is a very good idea for a video game. I have always enjoyed racing games, but this goes beyond any other racing game.

The only one thing I am dissapointed about with this game is that it provides no two-player mode. But, if you think about it all the good games (Grand Theft Auto 3, Max Payne, and Other HIt Games) sometimes don't have a two-player mode, but still blows all the other games out of the sky. BUY THIS GAME, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

Wreckless is a mix of the best games!

Wreckless is the kind of game you can't stop playing until you beat it. The game mixes elements of San Francisco Rush, Test Drive 6, and Blast Corps. You can play the game as two different teams of two characters, and each team has a different set of missions, you can also earn and unlock a total of 12 cars, including a monster truck and a tank! The graphics are stunning especially when you watch a replay, it is the most realistic car game I've ever seen. So if you're looking for a very entertaining game, with a large variety of missions this is it!

Maybe I'm the first to review this after its release....

OK, I just picked up a copy at EBWorld when I was at the mall yesterday...They had just received their shipment and didn't even have it on display yet.

Well, here's my short review...You start out looking at some cool character animations (they are modeled on Japanese animations, but speak English only). After the first cut scene, you get right into the driver's seat. Doesn't take too long to get the hang of it. The graphics are amazing...there are really two types of display modes for the driving scenes. The real time driving is fluid and has a nice 3D look with smooth blended colors. You can run over anything including people (there is no gore - if some unfortunate old lady gets in front of your car...well she just flashes and then disappears - but the game moves so fast that you don't have time to really notice). Your object is to keep bumping into the enemy cars until they blow up (they have little health meters next to them - when its all gone they explode). The driving is fun, and you feel pretty powerful zooming through barricades, post office boxes, etc while keeping an eye on the visual map to see where the enemies are going. They make some quick unexpected turns through parks and side streets. I think one of the coolest effects in the game is after you finish a mission...you have the option to watch in replay mode your entire combat scene...every turn you took, every hit you made, every crash...the graphics are incredible in this mode...it will show your car at different camera angles sometimes like blended watercolors, sometimes black and white sketches, etc. You have to see it.

I really like this game and it is starting to show some of the power of the XBOX, expecially with the high frame rates...so smooth. I will be interested in hearing what PS2 fans think of this game ...so many people have been bashing the Xbox...give it a chance...when the first generation PS2 games came out...they weren't as good as the new ones being released today.

The only thing I think could be improved is the crashing into enemy cars. It would be cool to see more parts blow off of them as you hit them. The game is a little like a demolition derby in the downtown city streets, but I think it would be more satisfying if you saw the enemy cars lose bumpers, doors, etc. You can hit the cars at any angle, but most of the time, since you are in hot pursuit, you are hitting them from behind, rear ending them.

I think this game has high replay value, especially with all the missions available. Sure it would be great to have a 2 player fight mode, but maybe in future versions we'll get a taste of that.

Overall, I think the graphics are a 5, and the gameplay a 4++.

Activison never ceases to make great games. When I first played Wreckless,I was instantly addicted to all of the smashing, crunching, and exploding.
There are two storylines to play:Dragon Adventure and Spy Story.

In Dragon Adventure mode, you are Madoka,a female police officer with a sidekick. You're out to get revenge because the Yakuza(Japanese gangsters) almost ran you over, and smashed your pudding. You'll drive a lot of cars, ranging from dune-buggies to motorcycles.

In Spy Story, you play as Ho and Chang, codenamed Hubby-Dubby and Chubby-Wubby.You're out to find out what the connections between the police and the Yakuza are. You'll drive a lot of cars, ranging from a 30-ton monster truck,to a really fast DeLorian(yes,a DeLorian)!

Each storylines have ten levels,Ranging from destroying an armored car to rescuing a Feng Shui professor.

You can smash and run over almost everything you see(except pedestrians).

Graphics:10/10

Gameplay:6.5/10

Sound:10/10

Controls:10/10

PROS
Fully interactive city(you can wreck pretty much everything you see)
Non-stop action
Awesome graphics
Simple controls
Good variety of cars

CONS
Only 20 levels
You have a time limit
No free-roam mode
Can be frusterating

Now,there is a GameCube and PS2 version of this. What's the difference, you ask?Well,in the GC and PS2 versions, you can shoot people, run them over, and hit them and send them flying. There is also more cars and levels.
If you're going to buy Wreckless for younger kids,I suggest you go with the Xbox version, because it's not as violent.

Overall,Wreckless is a game you definetly need to buy.If it's not in your library, then you should be ashamed of yourself!
Plus,Wreckless is a Xbox Platinum Hit,so it costs less than twenty dollars!

This is not the hardest game in the world, but it sure is alot of fun to play. The graphics alone make the game worth buying. When you play the replay, some parts look so real. I highly recommend this game.

ok, here's the real deal on this game ... i bought an xbox recently and got six games with it ... asides from halo, this is the one I play the most. Yes, it is a little easier to beat than the majority of games out there, but it is fun as [heck]. The graphics are phenmonal, the techno soundtrack is one of the best out there, and it is just plain fun to drive super-fast and smash the hell out of everything and everyone you see. Although you can beat it somewhat quickly, it is still very fun to play to relieve stress, even after you've beaten it. A great buy. The only improvements would maybe be a multi-player option and more levels/higher difficulty.

Awesome Game!!!

The point of this game is to crash into other cars hard enough to make them unable to run in a set time limit. It can be frustarating but it is very, very fun!!!
