I want my Money Back!

Great, Great Graphics. Hoorible Game play. Most of the cars are hard to control and flip way to easily. The fact that the missions are timed makes most of the missions seem impossible. On some you get time extentions but not enough. Because of this the game gets vey boring and frustrading. I ended up just giving up. Don't watse your money.

A good game. But not buying quality.

This game has the best graphics I have ever seen on a racing game. It has great detail in it, like, the characters move in the car when you run into cars or turn. The game is very good, but the characters in the game are not the best graphics, I have seen better graphics on a character before in a lot of games, but the game is still very good. But, I think it is (in my opinion) only renting quality. If I saw it at a store for 15 dollers I would buy it, but any price more, and I would not buy it. That is just my opinion, check this game out yourself!

uhhh... first spotlight review not so accurate

The first user review shown is not accurate at all and does not give credit to Wreckless: They Yakuza Missions in the right places...

First of all, he describes the graphics as "blurry sometimes" and obviously has no idea what he's talking about. The game has phenomenal, revolutionary graphics for a racing game, fully taking advantage of the xbox's graphics capabilities. The "blurry" graphics he's describing are a result of a deliberate effect in the game which blurs your view as the exhaust enters your line of vision...(i.e. the "waves" coming off the hood of your car on a hot day... or the waves seeming to radiate from gas pumps when refueling your car) I can't even begin to describe how awesome the graphics in the game are... all I can tell you is that you'll say "Dude, that's awesome!" before you're done playing the game.

Also, the game is very addicting in a good way as you'll find yourself playing it countless hours until you beat every single one of the twenty missions. The cars in the game are very fun and exciting and span in genres from the DeLorean used in Back to the Future to a monster truck with which you can run over other cars.

The only bad things I have to say about this game are its very glitchy gameplay... i.e. running into a wall as you're racing and getting stuck for twenty seconds as your car appears halfway through the face of the building... many other glitches like this make the game frustrating at times as you are rigorously trying to beat the unforgiving timer.

Also, some of the missions may seem rather... how shall I say... well... HARD. But, there is really nothing you can't handle since I beat the game. Some things that are missing from this game that should have probably been there are "free driving" modes in which you can cruise around the city and the game is also lacking a multiplayer option... sorry, only one player at a time here.

Overall, this is an extremely fun game which you should definitely rent if you don't decide to buy it.

Outstanding lighting and reflections you'll ever see in game

Wreckless has some of the most outstanding lighting and reflections you'll ever see in a videogame. Sunlight and streetlights all reflect off of the car surfaces even after those surfaces become mangled and bent in every direction. The reflections just become smaller and more detailed. The missions happen at different times of day so you may have the bright afternoon sun overhead, the intense orange glow cutting between the buildings at dusk or the neon highlights of Hong Kong after dark all around you or reflecting off of your vehicle.
For all of the great lighting effects and reflections, Wreckless features superb vehicle animations thanks to all of the stuff that breaks, flaps, hangs off and detaches from the cars. The cars themselves lean and pitch in and out of turns but we can't forget about all of the flips and rolls you'll be doing around town. The out of control animations are the best part about finding those shortcuts.
Likewise, the Xbox has set a standard that can't be ignored going forward with animated drivers that turn steering wheels, lean into turns and bounce around on their seats in time with the action. You can see all of this action much better once the doors of flown off the car you're driving.
The game plays at a steady 30 frames per second but it's clear now that 30fps on the Xbox looks a whole lot better than it did on PSX or N64. The blur effects and camera work with all of its focusing and re-focusing in real time combine for a stylized presentation of the action and the Xbox has no problem keeping up.

This game took me less than 5 hours to beat, but there are 4 cars that I yet to unlock. The graphics are remarkable, and the conrtol of the cars also seem realistic. To retort on other reviews talking about spinning around after smashing other cars, I only have 1 question to ask. Have you ever rammed a car on the highway going 100+ MPH while there cars coming in both directions. Wreckless gets a 4 in my book due to its lack of replayability, I estimate I will have all cars in another 2 to 3 hours if not less. I would recommend this game to anyone who just wants to chill out from more serious games, and just drive around smashing stuff. There is a tank, a delorean looking car, a big 6 wheel UPC vehicle, a couple dune buggys, an old 50's stlye taxi, some sports cars, a monster truck(yet to unlock), and other cars im not sure of. All in all a very fun game you can play quickly, and get the hang of. Im glad I purchased it.

Very, Very Frustrating, no Enjoyment What-so-ever

Maybe I've played WAY to may games over the years and it has made me soft. I dunno. Wreckless is one the few games that caused me so much frustration I could not restrain myself from throwing the controller at the television set.

The game is not difficult because the puzzles are tough, or because the enemy AI is so clever (which it isn't), its difficult because the game seems to be "cheating."

Its just one of those games where you feel there is no real challenge--nothing to master, to moves to perfect, no practice necessary. I get the distinct feeling the developers had to increase the cheapness factor to keep it from being too easy.

By cheapness I'm refering to things that are simply beyond your control. You'll find yourself repeating missions over and over again because some stupid random obsticle gets in your way, or those moving platforms seems to be out of sync and you can't seem to cross, or that bridge is so narrow you have to accelerate in little spurts to keep yourself from flying off edge, but you do anyway, no matter how many times you try.

Whats worse, is there is no reward for completing these obsticle courses maquerading as missions. I was persistant in my efforts because I was certain that eventually I'd get to the fun part, which unfortunately, never materialized.

Sure, the graphics are nice, but it only runs at 30hz and--where is the sound? I can hear my engine, and the girl says "We got the explosives" when I drive over a crate marked with dynamite, but other than that, I can't seem recall any sound effects.

Needless to say I'm glad I rented this game. I would have been even happer if I had bought it so I could return it for a FULL refund.

A complete waste of [money]

Flat out waste. I wish someone had just told me that ahead of time. Bad controls, moderate to poor graphics, and just flat out not fun. Don't waste your time or money.

This game is great!

This game is great. You get to drive along rodes in everything even a tank or a dune bugy. There is real traffic on the roads that you get to crush. This game is the best (not good as halo) but close. The official xbox magazine said that this game was a really really nice graphics game and that they were looking forward to it.

WRECKLESS--A Must Have for any XBOX Gamer.

I don't even own this game yet (It has yet to come out) and I already know that it will be a hit. It recieved editors choice from the official XBOX Magizne, and supposedly has the best graphics engine on any XBOX game yet. Yes, better then Dead or Alive 3.

I know that the idea of this game is Midtown-City racing, but that is not the whole idea. You have to destroy everything in your path. This is a very good idea for a video game. I have always enjoyed racing games, but this goes beyond any other racing game.

The only one thing I am dissapointed about with this game is that it provides no two-player mode. But, if you think about it all the good games (Grand Theft Auto 3, Max Payne, and Other HIt Games) sometimes don't have a two-player mode, but still blows all the other games out of the sky. BUY THIS GAME, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

A must-have for your Xbox library

Wreckless looks to be promising through the previews i've seen. If project gotham racing was too realistic, and perhaps too constricting, then this game is right up your ally. With a fully-interactive city, traffic, pedestrians, many missions and cars, and incredible graphics, this is a game i will be getting. there will be 20 different, high-intensity missions to choose from. drive in 10 vehicles to try and carry out your police duties against the Yakuza mafia.
