Roller Coaster Tycoon a good bet.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is a lot of fun but it should not be given to anyone under 12, the game is lots of fun if your 12 or older, in fact you might even lose a little sleep playing the game because it's so much fun. The game is some what complex and thats why I think that it's to tuff for really young kids. The reason why it is complex is because you have to watch your staff in the park and watch your cash flow. For everyone 12 or older this game is a very sure bet.

This is by far the most addictive game I've played in years. I love the attention to detail and the authentic -feel- of being in an amusement park. Luckily, I have more than one computer. If I didn't, my husband would never have a chance to play his games!

My only complaint is with the spelling errors seen throughout the game. For example, there is repeated misuse of the word "it's" when "its" was called for, and other words, such as "tidiest" have been misspelled ("tidyest"). This may seem like a minor issue, but it caused me to change my mind about purchasing another copy to give to a young relative.

Overall, though, I -highly- recommend it.

From the minute that I opened the box I have not been able to stop playing this game. It is certainly a change from violence provoking shoot-em-ups. It is also so realistic, it's scary. Just click on a guest and it shows how hungry and thirsty they are, how much they spent, what they're carrying, and what they're thinking.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is the Ultimate game! It's a thriller, once you install it into your computer you will enjoy Roller Coaster Tycoon for hours! It is a fascinating experience between life and death, hunger or thirst, new rides, new parks, this and that... and a long list of challenges. Roller Coaster Tycoon is the absolute thriller of a life time!

My family has Roller Coaster Tycoon and the Roller Coaster Tycoon Corkscrew Follies too! We can stay up for hours playing! This game is addicting and probably one of the most important thrillers in my life! I'm trying to get one of my friends to play it because she's afraid of heights and roller coasters! She says it will probably work! ME TOO! There are even a couple ideas I have to make the game even better! Roller Coaster Tycoon is addicting, educational, and it teaches you how to be a number of things like a real-estate developer, an engineer, an accountant, a landscape achitect, a manager of people and much much more! It has a lot of lifes biggest decisions in this game. Hope this review encourages you to buy it!

Well, Roller Coaster Tycoon is the BEST game ever! Not only does it have lasting appeal, and awesome strategy,and it is fun to play but i mean guys......... YOU BUILD A THEME PARK! Now how much cooler can it get than that? Huh? Well I personally don't think much. I have had this game a whole year in June I think and it is the coolest game I have ever played. I don't think that anyone that likes simulator games should not have this one. I give it 5 out of 5 stars and recomend this game to everyone and anyone!

When my husband was staying up until 2 in the morning playing this game I thought, What is going on? How could building roller coasters be that interesting? I thought that this was just a game where you constructed roller coasters and got to see if they worked or not. (Like a virtual reality type of thing) Boy was I wrong. I decided yesterday that I would see what had this grown man so occupied. Well, before I knew it I had been building my own theme park for 4 hours! Talk about addicting. The game is just so much fun and so much more than I expected. It is more than constructing roller coasters. You have to manage an entire theme park, keep people happy, keep them dry when it rains, all kinds of stuff. I love it because my park is far more succesful that my husband's is. The game is challenging too. You really have to keep up with it or things can get out of hand. I highly recommend this game. I can't imagine anyone not getting totally and completely addicted to it.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is increadable addicting. I would suggest having a friend hide the game on occation so you can get some sleep. You can do so much in this game is hard to grasp. Some of the thing are build your own rollercoaster or have a custom made on. Keep your park popular and keep building the new mega attration that will keep you top.

Don't be fooled by the design, this is an excellent game. There are plenty of rides to build, coasters, merry go rounds, observer towers, 3d cinemas, motion simulators, e.t.c. Park managment is easy, with graphs and plenty statistics to manage your cash flow or park value. The only problem with Roller Coaster Tycoon is the time it takes to pass a year, aroung 90 minutes. Some of the scenarios require you to do it in 4 years, so expect to be playing for a long while. Though i must say time seems to pass fast because it is not boring. And they just released the expansion to this giving you more rides and scenarios, its really great.

Amazingly addictive, but NOT compatible with Windows NT

WARNING: Amazon states that this game is compatible with Windows NT. While it does run to some degree under NT, pressing the right mouse button will instantly crash the game, making certain things in the game (like removing trees and other things) impossible. That said, this is one of the best games I've played in years. Unlike a lot of other games like it (including Sim ThemePark), it leaves you some breathing room once you've set up your park to sit back and watch your creation.
