First of all, 300 missions sounds like alot, but after playing it for a while you realize that you have completed more than you thought. You are training in a VR world with Solid Snake, and other characters, like Meryl, and the Ninja. Although the Ninja only has 3 missions they are pretty fun. You can use alot of different weapons in different areas. But the reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the first one has a really in depth story and this one is just training. I recommend that you play the first one to really have fun with this one.

Tactical Espionage Action = Smashed Controller

I have always been a Die-Hard MGS fan so I had to buy this game. It was very appealing at first beacuse the missions deliver a proffesional touch to your/snakes abilities. The proves to be challenging and requires a quick tactical sort of brain.

The game needs to be played bye someone who can devote time to play it also, as it gets very frustrating at certain times. I found my self beating the controller on the floor at times do to having to try over and over and over again to beat a level that is extremely intimadating.

This game would have made a better pre-realease game because it prepares you for the most grueling parts of MGS. So if your a new comer to the MGS series get this game first its ideal for training you for the real game.

This game is definitely fun and entertaining but there is not much more to do after the training. The spots you get to play need to be longer. But this game is a good way to prepare for MGS. But I liked MGS for playstation better.

want fun? this is it

This message is important: If you didn't like "Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions" because it lacked a story, do me a favor, and shut up. Why? Because this game wasn't meant to have a story! It's an add-on to "Metal Gear Solid!" Okay, now, I think this game is really worthy of rental because it does tend to get boring after a few hours of playing. The music in this game is better than the VR Mission training in "Metal Gear Solid." The puzzles are a little frustrating (maybe 20%), but not complicated. The Weapons Training is fun, and the Stealth Missions, too. The graphics are the same as "Metal Gear Solid." I have mixed opinions about this game, but I would recommend renting it, buying it is up to you. The Ninja missions are a little fun, but there aren't too many. But as I said, it's up to you to decide if you want to add this game to your collection or not. I hope you enjoy it.

MSG Boot Camp.

This game is a wonderful spin-off of Metal Gear Solid, though it seems as if it would have made a better pre-release before MSG, for training.

The game consists of 300 VR missions. Combat simulations basicly. After you play through the weapons mode you wonder if they are going to ship you off to run around with Snake in alaska some more.

The Graphics Rock. The Sound Rocks. The Gameplay rocks. This game is god-like.

A fun game!

This may not be the sequel but it is still a very fun game to keep the Metal Gear Solid fan occupied. One of the best features is that you get to be the NINJA! Get this game if you like MGS or the Ninja

More VR Missions please...

Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions - Circa 1999

GOOD:
- Great way to hone your Metal Gear Solid gameplay
- If you loved the VR training missions in Metal Gear Solid

BAD:
- Graphics are pretty dated
- No story, think of the game more like a great big Metal Gear VR test
- If you hated the VR training missions in Metal Gear Solid

WILL IT FIT YOUR TASTE:
- Only VR training missions
- Hundreds of missions and training exercise to perform

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Metal Gear Solid's VR Missions

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- The Cyber ninja is a playable character, if only for a few missions
