While the graphics and sound are improved over every other previous version, the game is essentially the same. There is nothing new and innovative about this game to distinguish it from every other WWII game out there. Playing the same type of game with only improved graphics and sound doesn't make a game enjoyable. If you have played any Call of Duty before, then you can easily consider yourself as having already played this game.

I recently purchased Call of Duty 3 while it was one sale for $20. After playing it for about an hour I wouldn't have paid $1 for it. It is not that it is a horrible game. By itself I would have given it 3 stars for being "ok", however, compared to COD 2 and COD 4 (both of which are 5 star games) this game is horrible. The graphics are poor; the physics of the game are very simple compared to COD 2 and 4. There are too scenes where you can't play and you have to sit back and watch the game play out. The sound effects are simple. I don't know what happened from COD 2 to 3. I get the impression Activision had this game on the shelf and decided to release it and milk some money out of it after the popularity of COD 2. I am disappointed and have lost trust for Activision for putting out this crappy game under the COD title after the great job they did with COD 2.

This is a good game to play multi-player because people use the "n" word A LOT. It feels like you're hanging out in Bed-Stuy or Compton or something. But the single player is kind of weak.

Must Play it in Veteran Mode!!!

This game is Sick, for me Playing it in normal wasnt a tough challenge. that is why i decided to play it in Veteran mode. Since Iam a Cod Hcore Fan, and i have played COdII for Mac in Veteran mode, i decided to play it in the xbox 360 as a veteran. dude the Game was soo good and it had some really tough parts, i even spent like 2 hours on one single part in one Canadian level.

I strongly recommend this game to anyone!!!

Cod III Rocks, cant wait for COD IV!!!

This is an incredibly fun game and if you liked Brothers in Arms, then you'll like this one. I loved the realistic aiming system where you have to hold the left trigger to get the "looking down the barrel" view. The core gameplay is really fun. The graphics are amazing with lots of detail and very good particle effects. However, on the negative side; it has lame voice acting, bland and repetetive driving missions, and fairly repetetive missions (such as clearing out the same designed house countless times). I think that the worst part of the game is the clunky movement and linear path. Movement can be extremely difficult and irritating at times, like when there is a small chunk of debris in your path that you can't seem to walk or jump over (LAME)!! It is also very linear, where you can't explore beyond the path that is set for you (think LOTR on xbox), and there are even parts where your teamates are climbing over a short wall or jumping over some rubble and you can't follow them!! I dont understand why they even bothered putting a jump button in the game, because you don't ever get to use it. These may be annoying quirks, but it definately doesn't ruin the game! i would recommend it even!

I wad very dissapointed of this game. Call of Duty 2 was a lot better. The campain is the same as all the WWII games that came before it, storm the town, kill the Nazis. I'm kind of getting tired of WWII games too. They're all the same. Rent it, if you really love it, buy it.
Get Gears of War instead. (I like the Civil war for xbox360 too)

Some people can't play online

For some reason I can never get into online games with this game. No other games give me trouble (Halo 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Gears of War, Doom 3), so I have trouble thinking my network is to blame.

ok, most people have more then one system, i have a PS2 which plays copies, and the 360, hmmmmmmmmmm should i pay so much money for the 360 version????????? or should i go for the free copy i can download for the PS2?

some people might say better graphics..hmmmmmmmmmm. dont care and many dont
