COD3 or Medal of Honor 7??

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 3 / 7

The minute I finished my first level, I realized that I had done the exact same thing 1 year prior, in COD2....only this time it felt a little bit like Medal of Honor. Stupid A.I. slightly revamped graphics, and just more more more. This game had no real change besides the fact that it felt like it was rushed and there is no gripping story. I like in my games to know what was going on, but half the time I couldn't remember what soldier I was or what gun I just picked up.

I got stuck halfway through the game because it go so repetitious and tedious that I had to stop. Some of the levels looked nice but compared to Gears of War this game is garbage. It offers nothing new, other than the ever annoying mini-game and I will be happy to trade the game in.

Call of Duty 3

I had such high expectations for this game just to have them shot down. The single player game is fine with some dumb things with the enemy AI. The muliplayer is a joke! Well first you have to get online which is basically impossiable. The Multiplayer which was the best part of 2 is totally stupid and WORTHLESS in 3. One you can play by yourself. Sounds like fun right? two you have to drive the tank unless you are the second person to the tank but you cant just use the machine gun which u can in the other vehciles stupid. Three there are some stupid errors in a bunch of levels where you can get stuck and have to respawn yourself. i say rent it before you buy it.

Online Play

3 Rating: 3, Useful: 2 / 4

To put in one sentence what many reviewers do in a paragraph, this game is useless outside of the online play. Single player is about as good as the early Medal of Honor games, and multiplayer maps are designed for huge battles. Online play, however, MAKES this game. It offers the "smart" enemies that the single player lacks, and the levels are all fun and unique. I have had this game for about 4 months, and i have played the single player twice. The multiplayer wil suck you in, you will choose your favorite weapon and become good with it, and you will be satisfied in the video game department for a long, long time.

Of course, if you don't have xbox live this game is useless.

By the way, Im not Mary Gard, Im her son, who is 15 years old and an experienced gamer.

Let me start by saying that I loved Call of Duty 2. I played it constantly through and when I got my XBox Live account, played it constantly online. I accumulated all the achievements possible and beat it several times on all difficulty levels. I thought the graphics were incredible, the sound was awesome and it was just a fun game through and through. That is why I bought Call of Duty 3. I wish I hadn't. To me, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They decided to go with a new graphics engine for CoD3, and in my opinion, they shouldn't have. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old graphics. I think CoD3 looks worse than CoD2 in every way...it looks like they tried too hard to detail everything and overdid alot of it. The sound is wonderful in CoD3, but I've never bought a game and loved or hated it because of a sound issue. My biggest complaint about CoD3 is the nausea factor. Some games, usually poorly done flying games, can make you nauseous after playing them. That's what happened to me after about 30 minutes of playing CoD3; that never happened with CoD2, even after several hours of playing. So, I just can't rate a game very high if it makes me sick. Perhaps I should try some Dramamine next time? No thanks, I'll stick with CoD2.

Locked Up at the Crane

I received CALL OF DUTY THREE for Christmas. It was easy but the graphics were great. The Problem: It locks up at the crane. I have tried everything to move forward, however, it locks up no matter what I do; then I must go back to the checkpoint and try it again. After about 10 times, I am ready to send it back.

World War Two isn't getting boring yet!

First thing's first: This is for the Xbox 360 version. This game is a huge graphical leap since Call of Duty 2. The missions offer variety, from objectives to "Battle Actions," which are tasks such as planting a bom, wrestling a gun from your enemy, or driving a vehicle. The characters are very life-like, each with their own personality. The game's 14 missions are fun, and its Multiplayer just blew me away. This is a very intense game. The only downside is that CoD3 can use some more missions, and maybe a few new multiplayer maps, but it'll still be the perfect gift for any occasion-don't let its $59.99 pricepoint fool you. What are you waiting for, soldier? Go to your local game retailer and buy this game. Move, move, move!

maybe i'm just tired of shooting nazis?

i couldn't really get into this one. maybe i've just played too many ww2 games, especially ww2 shooters. the game seems well made and is good looking, but i really didn't care too much for it. my mistake was playing splinter cell double agent first, so playing this after that was like taking a bunch of steps back in the fps world.

Different but FUN!!!

Being an avid fan of COD 2 the conversion to COD 3 took some time. Your view/looking down the barrel feels a little different then COD 2 and can take some time getting the feel for it. In regards to some of the new additions, You either love them or hate them.

- sometimes you have to fight guys off using your gun... I didn't like.

- You have to set your explosives with button configurations... also didn't like. (also interacting with other things.)

- Multiplayer sprinting... GREAT. helps in a lot of situations.

- Sticky shot. If you have the M1 grand and aim it relatively close to where the enemy is and then pull up your sight. it lines it up for you... It can make it a little too easy.

- Trucks, tanks and motorcycles... Fun to drive, and shoot. pretty balanced.

- Multi player ranks... Awesome!!

- Multi player kits... good and bad.. Love the skills hate some of the weapon pair ups...

All and all it's a great game. It looks amazing especially in HD. Very realistic. It has a slightly different feel then COD 2 but once you get past that its a great game.

Slightly Flawed

I'll sum it up this way. At $30, it is not a bad addition to your library. I am really glad I didn't pay full price. I purchased both COD 2 & 3 and played them back-to-back.

On the positive side, it does all of the next-gen stuff very well. It looks great on the HDTV. The sounds are great as you spin around and the conversation moves from speaker to speaker to give you a truly 3-D feel. There are some really fun sequences in the game and specifically I like the tank battles.

Unfortunately, there were just too many glitches to allow me to rate the game higher than about 2.5 to 3 stars. Other reviewers have posted in detail some of these problems, so there is no sense in repeating them here. The biggest one for me is that your team is constantly getting in your way and you can't get around them. I didn't notice that as much in COD2 as I am in COD3.

The game play also feels TOO linear to me. I understand that the nature of an FPS is to be linear, but when this is combined with a complete lack of need for strategy, the game becomes a bit tedious at times. Lets face it, you throw a smoke grenade...hide behind something...pop up and shoot until your health gets low...hide again until your health gets better...repeat. Doesn't really matter whether you want to use the SMG or rifle. My guess is that game is A LOT more fun in multi-player mode, which I haven't tried yet.

I don't think this is a bad game. I just won't be buying COD4 when it comes out. When the price drops to $25 to $30, I will check out the reviews and if it seems that they have fixed some of the glitches, I will definitely give it a spin at that price. I would have to say that I prefer Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell to COD right now.
