WTF!!!

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 12 / 14

Wow...This game is bad in so many ways, that I don't even know where to start. But I'll try:

First of all, the graphics are terrible. This 360 supports HD graphics and this is what we get??? MVP '05 for my regular Xbox looked better. Balls hit in the outfield during HR Derby look like huge snowballs.

The new swing-stick feature is just plain horrible.

Baserunning is insanely stupid. One you hit a ball in play you have to smash the button corresponding with the base to speed up your runner. If you don't, outfielders can easily take away would-be singles. This is ok if nobody's on base, but if someone is already on, then this doesn't work at all.

Fielding is awful. Nough said.

One good note...pitching has been very unpredictable, which I think is a good thing. One problem I had with MVP '05 is that you could consistantly hit the corners of the strike zone. Not so with this game, which makes it more realistic, and more difficult.

This is the only baseball game available for the 360. It's a shame because it is terrible. Save your money and buy Oblivion or Tomb Raider instead.

WOW! What a disapointment

Just plain terrible. The Graphics are very poor, especially for the 360, and they are so bad they begin to distract from the game right from the begining. But the real problem is that the gameplay is even worse. Fielding is terrible, player controls are terrible, and baserunning is a joke. The pitching and hitting controls are the only savior. The designers took a fresh approach to the sport and I did actually like their ideas. However, they just can not make up for the rest of the flaws. This title just looks and plays as though it was rushed to the shelves. On top of all of this, player ratings are a complete joke. Anyone with any knowledge of the sport could have done a better job here.
All and All do yourself a favor and pass on this game. Maybe next year we can get a little competition and maybe multiple baseball titles to choose from.

Worst Baseball Game Ever

I was really looking forward to this game since their older baseball games were fun and only cost 19.99. Well since they have the rights to the MLB games now, I figured it would be worth it to pay 59.99 for it. The biggest mistake ever. The graphics look like PS2 at best, the players move slow so it's impossible to make catches and big plays, the batting sucks and takes a long time getting used to. Another big complaint is the camera, the angles are horrible and make the game boring. DO NOT waste you money on this game. I'm just gonna have to wait till next year for a decent baseball game.

what the !@$$

I have been waiting 3 months for this game, what a joke. MLB the show for PSP blows this game away. All i kept hearing about was how good the graphics are going to be. None of the players look like real players, the hitting controls are a joke, and the fielding anamations are horrible. Please MLB, give back the money 2k sports gave you for the rights to make the game so real players like EA sports and other software companys can make a MLB game.

MLB gaming for the next decade is ruined.

Ok, so maybe its not that bad, but this game sure is a waste of money. Now that 2k sports has the MLB license i guess you can forget about playing a realistic/fun MLB game for the rest of the decade and beyond.
All of the problems listed in the other reviews are accurate. I would also like to add a few problems and glitches with the game. There are several occurences where you you sign or trade for a pitcher, and cant set him in any of your rotation or relief slots. He is listed as on the roster, but just cant be accessed. Also, the player ratings are terrible. I'm not sure how to explain how bad the ratings are, but one example is that a player you draft out of high school starts with a higher rating than an allstar from last year.
The bottom line, is that unless they vastly improve the game for next years version, they have a good shot at going bankrupt because nobody who buys this game will ever buy another 2k sports baseball game.

What a Shame...This Could Have Been a Great Game!

I'm so mad that a company can put out such a piece of junk that I think there has to be a law against it. If I wasn't able to return my game, I would have joined the hundreds of others filing complaints with the BBB and other officials.

Here is the information you need to know. Don't buy this game. The graphics are not what one would expect for a next generation console. Movements are choppy and the new "clothing physics" just look like there is an alien trying to pop out of their bodies. The game play is clumsy with fielders bouncing off the walls and laying on the ground and not being movable. Don't get me started on the pitching -- there are more inside the park home runs in one game than the entire baseball season last year. The announcing is inconsistent with bad information - players are announced with no statistics - like "David Ortiz" hit no home runs last year" or "Mariano Rivera has no saves last year." I'm not sure what Take2 Interactive and Kush Games actually thought they would accomplish by making such an unplayable game other than ripping off the public.

The game regularly freezes and can result in lost data for your other games. That's right, folks. Check out some of the Take2 forums to see how many people are dissatisfied with this game. MLB made a huge error in giving Take2 Interactive this license. For $60, you too can have what amounts to a coaster. Until the problems are fixed, don't buy this game. Put it on the DL or send it down to the minor league where it belongs.

MAJOR DISAPOINTMENT!!

Like the previous critics I waited for 3 months for this game. This has to be the worst game ever!!!. I brought this game assuming that the graphics will be realistic. What a disapointment!! Not one player looks realistic. This garbage game will put out because there is no other baseball game available. All 2K was interested in was making 59.00!! Do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!

Only gave 1 star in both colums because you can not give 0 stars. Froze like all the others. I am not taking 2k6 advice and buy a memory card(40 buck) delete all my games is the other option. We can put a man on the moon but can not make a video game that does not freeze. What makes this worse is that the game was delayed to get the "kinks' worked out. JOKE!!! 0 is the final score

This game freezes, unplayable

We bought it April 11, returned it April 12, new one froze up right away just like first one. Gamestop said some other people had same problem. How can they ship a game that won't play for even ten minutes?

Like all the others, I bought this movie on the 11th and returned it on the 12th. The game froze up on me. Worse, the controls are so confusing that it gives me a headache. This one game may push back the advancement of the X-Box 360 for at least a year. At least the people gave me a full refund. I used it to buy last year's far superior original X Box game. If you have last year's 2k or MVP, keep it. Skip this piece of junk. I don't think I will buy a 2k game ever again.
