I know people have said differently but i think this is a really good game. Its just like other baseball games, but if you buy it for Xbox 360 it has better gameplay and MUCH better graphics, so if i were you i would give this games a try

I was amazed at the detail of this game. A must for the baseball fans with the Xbox 360.

Ok I bought this game yesterday. I felt as if it did not do all the hype justice but on the other hand it is a really captivating game and does not bore u easily. I have this friend and he hates baseball completely(I dont understand how) but he loves the game (I can see how) and it just goes to show u that it is a really great game

i think its the best baseball game besides some things mostly freezing in offline play but there will be a patch soon to fix that mvp fans get over it i was the biggest mvp fan but you cant do anything about that this is the only xbox/xbox360 game now and its good its much better then 2k5 so i dont no what you people are sayin theres just a couple things that need to be inproved.
pros: good graphics new feature swing stick the new pitch interface are great very good gameplay great looking ballparks pretty good looking player models almost every new feature in this game is great.
cons: when you warm up a pitcher it doesent show them warming up in the bullpen and im not to hot for the fielding when you field a ball it not so realistic cause you field the ball and as soon as you get it if you hit a button to throw it to a base he the fielder who fields the ball doesent really wind up to throw he kinda flips it but over all a good game if 2ksports fixes a couple things for next years version it will be the best ever.

Okay, I'm going to be the light at the end of the tunnel. I've been playing the "MVP" series since the fall of the "High Heat" series. When moving from High Heat to MVP everything about MVP just wasn't as good as High Heat! Eventually, MVP became my game of choice and I couldn't remember what I liked so much about High Heat. MVP 2005 was incredible! So, like everyone else I wasn't very happy to see 2K trump the giant EA Sports...though you have to kind of laugh at the irony. After reading Amazon reviews I really didn't want to buy MLB2K6. Why did I? It's the only game in town for XBox360. The result...I love this game! It definitely took some getting used to! There are some pretty poor animations, but then again there are some really excellent ones. I think the game has a great feel to it as well. I've never had a lock-up. I haven't reached the end of a season so I don't know anything about the offseason play, but I'm really enjoying my season and all there is to do within. The controls take a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it they provide a great deal of freedom. I would be interested to see the people who gave it such poor reviews to re-review it after playing it for a month, instead of straight out of the box. I think the reviews would improve consideribly.

Give it a chance...

Before I purchased the game initially I read some of the reviews on amazon.com. To be honest I really didn't care what anyone had to say because I knew that I would purchase it regardless. However, people made some important insights.

Cons- There are certain flaws in the gameplay. For example the commentators tend to say the wrong thing at times; things that aren't even close to the situation. Another con I would say is that the controls are pretty difficult. Things that were basic in the EA sports versions are made much more complicated in this game.

Pros- Despite the cons, I absolutely love this game. I'm not a gamer at all; I only buy sports games, and even then I'm pretty amature. After practicing for a bit, you start getting a hang of the controls. Pitching is a blast in my opinion. Once you understand that you need to place the cursor where you want it to break you can go nuts with it. Offensively the swing stick (once you get the hang of it) can be a lot of fun. Trying to guess the pitch also becomes fun as you get the hang of the game. Plus the graphics are insanely good. Each player's tendencies are almost spot on.

The reason I rated the game so high is because when you get a better hang of the controls the game allows you to control every aspect of the game. I disliked the game immensely when I first bought it, but after giving it a chance, I'm hooked. The more I play I learn new controls that make the gameplay so much fun. Just force yourself to give it a chance and get into each pitch, each at bat, and this is an amazingly fun game.

I bought this game for my grandkids so I have never played it. The kids seem to like it so I assume it is a good game.

Mine hasn't froze yet in about 10 full games.

Pros:
-It feels very authentic with cool trivia between innings, and the broadcast fortifies this feeling.
-Inclusion of WBC is pretty cool, even though the rosters need some working out.
-I actually like the pitching meter...
-baserunning mode is cool
-utter hilarity when players crash into each other and the wall (this often happens thanks to the fielding)

Cons:
-AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL fielding. Fielders are slow and clunky, the dives are delayed and are based on if you are lucky enough to fall on the ball. I would advise that you set it so the AI does that fielding, and thus the diving. There is also a strange lack of relay throws (or none I have figured out yet), and players jump when they should dive.. and oi, too much to mention.
-Baserunning fails completely. You pre-assign bases for people to take, but it is sometimes unresponsive and the base number on the screen is soooo small (even on my 60-something inch HDTV) so its hard to tell a 2 from a 3. One other annoyance is if you have a guy on 2nd base. He will automatically dive back to the bag making it impossible for him to advance to 3rd on a ground ball to the right side.
-Hitting and bunting is exceptionally difficult to master. This may be because pitches move unrealistically. Hitting involves pulling back the right thumbstick and flinging it, but it is practically impossible to take a pitch because the slightest movement of the stick will make your guy swing. I haven't figured out how to set the hitting controls back the MVP system (A button), even though it seems obvious. I click to activate it, but nothing happens. I keep mistiming my swing because my guy keeps swinging right after the step because my finger wasn't still enough on the stick or something. The only way i succeed in hitting is when I say "You will not move the stick after the step" in my mind. The most runs I've scored is 4 (on pro level, rookie appears to be the same as pro...)
-stupid stuff like uniform numbers are wrong (Mark Loretta isn't number 10!)

I haven't started career mode yet because I am too bad. Learning curve is approx. 20 hours. I'm half-way there, heh. Maybe once I get decent, the game will turn decent too.

Good but not Worth the Cover Charge

This is an altogether OK game. The presentation is not that great. The graphics are of the 360 'ish level. The price is a little high for a game that for all its features just dosn't feel like that great a game. So if you really want to get a baseball game save some money and buy the O-Xbox copy. The only real diffrence is the graphics.
