Good Game, Poor Acting

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 1

Need For Speed Most Wanted is a good game. It is however not great. The graphics are great, the music is great, racing is fun... what makes this only a good game, is the acting during the cut scenes. In the mid to late 90's video game makers tried to make things more real by having live cuts scenes with real actors, the problem here is no real actor would ever do this... so you are left with acting on the level of a d movie, and this is true today. The story mode drags along during the cut scenes, and makes one think that the actors from 2 Fast 2 Furious deserve oscars for thier performances next to this.

Also, to a degree, I expected more than I got. There are no real improvements here over past installments. During the free roam in the game, it is fun to run from the police... but after 2 or 3 times this too becomes bland. I love racing games, but this offers nothing new.

If you love racing games, you love cars, you love having the option of improving your car, then by all means buy this game. But if you are looking for something new and improved there is nothing here. The levels are the same as in past games, the car upgrades seem similar... there is just nothing new. It is like the Madden seires, a slightly updated roster, and one or two things aimed at improvement, but nothing really new in depth.

The best racing game...so far.

Need for Speed was quite impressive. The graphics are outstanding on the 360, everything sharp and clear. The best feature I like about was the ability to customize the cars to how you want it too look and perform. Adding nitrous and hearing that turbo blowoff valve when gassing from the cops is spectacular!

Running from the cops is also pretty cool, however as you play through the game, it seems to lose its excitment. Cops also get tougher on you as you become more of a criminal running from them. The game could use more cars in my opinion, though it does have about 30 some cars available to choose from and customize.

One thing I didn't quite like about the game was just how EA tinted the game screen into a "yellowish" color, I don't know their intention in doing so but that made it less appealing and realistic. If the color were to stay true and natural, this game would be unbeatable as a racing launch game. Overall, this game scores a big 4 out of 5 for me...race you to the store and back...?

Fun arcade racer.

This game is realy fun and can be over looked due to the other great 360 games available now. But if you get a chance pick it up or rent it tou will not regret it. The games play is like a arcade racer like Ridge Racer. The story line is cool but I'm not a fan. The controls are good and tight like Burn Out. The wrecks are alittle fake looking but that realy dose not matter since the object of the game is to race and take the cars of your rivals. This brings me to xbox live play where you can take other players cas or cash, realy fun. The pros: graphis, sound, game play, the ability to fully customize cars from top to bottom, and steel them from other racers online. The Cons: The story is alittle boring, and the crashes look stupid.

EA - The Big Merge - Need For Speed Most Wanted

WOW. LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS....unfortunately that is alll XBOX 360...I played it on PS2 and PC and it has nothing on the 360. Other than that I like the idea of the Need For speed Underground series meets Burnout Series. I am sorry Burnout Revenge... Customization is the #1 factor that blows revenge away... I am kind of waiting to see if EA discontinues one of the series. The Police are very ineffective and fairly easy to outrun which is a pain when you have to pass a challenge for the longest time. WARNING: Make sure you have a hard drive for this game. If you don't not have a HD, in the middle of a race the system will freeze with a loading screen on, then resumes, usually once a lap in the same spot. Microsoft made the Hard drive as a temporary loading agent. I recommend this game. Have a good one!

is this the last one? I HOPE NOT!

I wasn't a big fan for the very first need for speeds because there was no freeroam and everything you needed was right in front of you, so you didn't really have to do anything for yourself. BUT this game is the exact opposite, I bought the X box 360 the very first day it came out, and this was the first game I bought.

thruth is Im more of a shooter type, I used to not like racing games at all until I got my hands on this beauty. NOW I LOVE RACING GAMES.

WOW the graphics are perfected, detailed to perfection, gameplay is smooth and very realistic. controls are easy to remember and you can costomize your car to your choosing.

I give this game a solid 5-5

I recommend this game to all that haven't played the nfs-nfsu series and to all burnout lovers.

PLZ CONTINUE THE MOST WANTED SERIES!

A great game!

I really enjoy this game. I'm a big fan of racings games, and this was the first game I purchased for my new xbox 360. It did not disappoint. The graphics look great and the races are really fun and exciting. You can play this game in two ways - you can just roam around and outrun cops and enter races, or you can have a very well thought out career mode.

The only reason I give the overall game a 4 is that the xbox 360 controller does not give me the precision I would like. The joystick on the controller over-steers the car, so that it's difficult to make subtle movements. In spite of this I really like this game, and since I just purchased the wireless racing wheel, this might not be a problem for me any more.

This is the best and worst racing game I have ever played in my life. However, as the game progresses the tasks become so RIDICULOUS and tedious. For example, they make you drive around and cause destruction and make the city pay for all the damages you do. I would have been fine with this, but once you get to the higher levels on the blacklist, the cops become more and more unrealistic. I have a Lambourghini Gallardo that I won by beating another racer in a Porsche Caymen. So I'm driving the Gallardo on the freeway and its fast enough to outrun the lesser cops easily, so easily that its an effort to keep them on me so that I can complete the tasks. As it gets into the higher levels of pursuit, GTO police and undercover GTO police come out along with helicopters. This is fine also, but then the heavy SUV police cars come out. They drive recklessly and try to hit you in a head on collision. I can also dodge them fairly easily. Any combination of these cars may form a road block at any time. Sometimes they materialize right in front of your eyes. This is not a problem either until they start laying out spike strips, because most of the time you can just drive straight through the road block. The spike strips completely immobilize your car and cause you to get arrested and lose all of the destruction that you caused, which is completely ridiculous. Just because you got arrested everything you tore apart should not magically fix itself. ON TOP OF THAT, the most IRRITATING part of the game is when they set up a road block that has spike strips UNDER the cars that form the block. Not only are they hard to see, but it gives you no chance of running through the road block or avoiding it unless there is another route that you can take, which doesn't always happen. And much of the time they materialize around corners without you having any way of knowing that theyre there. This game sucks.

Yeah I Would Agree The Grapics Are Great, I Really Like How They Made The Little Movie Clips, But In Game Play, The Only Thing That Shows In Great Graphics Is The Road, How Can I Review A Game Without Giving The Fun Away, It's A Great Game, It Gets Better As You Play It, Ok Later.

Buy It Here, Beats Standing In Line, Waiting In A Line, Sleeping In A Line, Wondering To Spend That Dime, Maybe You Want To Also Buy Some Lemon Lime, ... Beats Waiting For More To Be Stocked In The Stores, However I Got Mine At Sears In Person, But Its Cool To Get It Online Too.

Waste Of Time To Play After Blacklist #4

This game is a waste of time to play after you get to blacklist member #5 JV. In the milestone section where you have to hit 28 cop cars and then evade them you can't cause they either run you into walls, have too many cops on you or spiked roadblocks you don't know about until is too late. According to my husband you have to play this game for more than 500 hours a day.
