This is hands down the best racing game for the XBox 360. The graphics are incredible on HD. The Challenge series is a lot of fun

Doesn't exactly stand out....

Eh, this game is average. It's not addicting to me, and the graphics(on a standard non HDTV) are only okay. I would rent this first to see if you enjoy it, and if so, by all means buy it!

In the early 90's my mom purchased a Panasonic 3D0 with two games. The first game was irrelevant, but the second one was the first Need for Speed.
Back then, it was called "Road and Track's: Need for Speed"(published by non other than the ever-popular Electronic Arts) and featured several supercars, like a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Porsche, and the Viper in it's videogame debut.
I remember playing the game endlessly. It was the first racing game I had ever played in 3d, and what a sight to behold. Curves in the road, other cars, trees, and...hills! This game had everything!
A few years later the second game was released(Need for Speed II), this time featuring exotic concept cars, instead of the sexy supercars of the first game. I only played that game for about five minutes, at my friends house last year. Let's just say, it was not even on the same level as the first game.
Then Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit was released for PS1. This was another voyage into the world of fast cars and what not, but I must admit I wasn't intruiged, even after I learned about the Hot Pursuit mode, wherein you chased down speeders as a cop.
The last Need for Speed I played was #4, which was titled Need for Speed 4: High Stakes. The gimmick here was that you could race a buddy using the cars saved on you memory card, but if you lost, he got your car. If you won, you kept his. The game was pretty entertaining, but still lacked the magic of the original.(All though the music was stellar.)
There was at least one other release on the PS1: Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, but, I didn't even look at it. My faith in EA shaken; I began to ignore the series for the next couple of years...
We moved into the PS2 days, with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2, Need For Speed Underground, and Need for Speed Underground 2. I must admit, I wasn't interested even in the screenshots of those games. I still doubted EA's ability to provide me a solid racing experience.
However, with the release of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, I feel that they had a chance to rekindle my love for EA's racing games. It seems they've taken the best parts of the old generation; Hot pursuit mode, good car selection, and the best of the new generation; car customization, sweet fine graphics, and great music.
I did enjoy this game, but only for about a week. Then I started to see the flaws in it, and my re-kindled love was washed away. I saw the game without my rose-colored glassess, and I didn't feel entertained. But I suppose I set my expectations to high.
All in all, this is a decent game, and is worth at least a rental, but I don't see where people would be completely satisfied with a purchase here. At least, I wasn't.

So i picked up NFSMW this week at my local EB. and so far i really like it. it is very fun so far. although the dialogue is pretty lame. as everyone knows you start with a kick ass car then in a pink slip race you lose your car (because Razor sabotageded your car) then you start at the bottom and have to work your way up the blacklist to get your car back.

customizing is very cool. the paint colors and body kits etc...
to bad i only have a damn vw golf though its very pimped out though so far

my main beef with the game is that the cars handle so weird. i guess im not used to the NFS series. its fun but the handling is so weird and too forgiving in many aspects.it takes the challenge..ie some fun out of the game. its more of a casual gamers game. also when you start off at the bottom your stock car will kick everythings ass.

fun game so far ill beat it eventually...i have to many 360 games right now and not enough time

Its very cool, the only complain its the bounty

The only bad thing about this game is that you have to increase your bounty level making police try to catch you. Its cool at the beggining but when you are at top 5 in blacklist, things get boring.

Need For Speed: Most Unattractive :l

i was HEAVILY uninspired to play through this game because of how UGLY the city was. i mean where did they model this city after?? SASKATCHUAN, NEW MEXICO? its terrible. in the first two undergrounds, the city was kool...in Carbon (which i absolutely LOVE)...the city resembles a less-flashy Las Vegas and makes for an awesome racing experience...but this city is just....Not Attractive...and its just not Fun to drive around the city at all...its just Dull and Boring. maybe because its always day time? its not even that...the city is just Uninspiring for a racing game. and WHAT IS UP WITH THE GRAPHICS FOR THE ORIGINAL XBOX?? those are THEEE WORSTTT GRAPHICSSSS I HAVE EVER SEEEN IN MY LIFEEEE. it looks like a NINTENDO 64 game :l not to mention the Driving is just not the SAME as the other games in the series...and the races are just not as Fun. not to mention the Clipping and Freezing like some other people have stated. i say stay farr away from this one...it just didnt do it for me...not when i can play Carbon and be alot more satisfied with that racing experience...or even the Original NFS:UG which is 10 times better than this, even tho you cant freeroam the city.

i have Yet to actually play NFS:UG2 which i ordered off ebay so i should get it soon...but im willing to bet its going to LOOK and PLAY 10 times better than this. they should have just Skipped over THIS completely and did Carbon.

Most Unattractive Game In The Series..

Running away from the cops had never been this fun. If you like racing games, I highly recommend adding this game to your collection.

Best NFS Yet!

I've played all of the NFS games except for Carbon and I like Most Wanted the best. You have free roam mode and the blacklist is fun and challenging. You have a list of 15 racers that you have to beat. The first 10 are pretty easy but once you get up to 2 or 3, it's very hard. The cops are driving Ferrari's and the cop's lay down spike strips on the road. For $30 this is a must have game. You may be able to beat the game in a few days though if you didn't want to buy it.

One of the best games ever!

This game is absolutely awsome. I love the graphics, the cars, all of the customization, and the story line is good too. The only thing that disappoints me is that most the cars in there are cars that you will never see in the hands of anybody that isn't some multibillionaire. Like Lamborghinis, Porsches, Dodge Viper, Corvette, and Mercedes SLR McLaren. But I do love the cars but the realism is completely out the door. But if you are looking for some basic easy fun racing this is probably the best game to buy.
