i am usually not into racing games too much. but this got me hooked really fast. the graphics are really good and the storyline is alright as well. the best part are the police chases. shaking off the cops take some real skill, and really gets your adrenaline going.

i would highly recommend this game. try it out...

5 stars.

very frustrating, but fun

Most Wanted places you in the shoes of the racer you controlled in NFS: Underground 2, who has left Bayview and moved to Rockport. This time around you are trying to be the most notorious and revered racer in the city and on the city police's "Blacklist". This blacklist shows who the top 15 street racers are in terms of won races and police chases. Basically, you choose a car to start with (and naturally it isnt going to be the best car in the world), do a few races & earn money from them, then go and upgrade your car. From there you proceed in police chases to raise your bounty. While in these police chases you must pass "milestones" - these milestones can be anything from hitting into a car to having a 20 minute police chase. Eventually you can challenge a member on the blacklist if you meet their criteria (they usually require you to win a certain number of races, have a certain bounty price, You can upgrade almost everything on your car from visuals to performance. I mean you can buy several types of body kits, spoilers, rims, paint jobs, vinyls, etc. In addition, you can buy better motors, nitros, superchargers, etc. On top of that, you can "performance tweak" your car. This means you can lower your ride height, raise your torque poundage, aerodynamics, and much more to give you the upperhand in a race.

The police chases are pretty cool, but get almost impossible later on. You start off at level 1 with just police cruisers following you, as you gfo on you will get police copters and police corvettes chasing after you using tactics like making you fishtail or boxing you in. They will even lay down spike strips and road blocks to slow you down.

The graphics in this game are beautiful. The cars look amazing, the environments look top notch, the weather effects are brilliant. The only downside to the grpahics is the sun. Sometimes they will place the sun directly in your eyes and you can't see your car or the road.

The AI in this game is a bit frustrating. It starts off real easy, but then gets REALLY hard as you progress. When you reach something like the 3rd guy on the Blacklist (Ronnie I think his name is) the races become almost unbeatable and you really have to use tactics, strategy, and proper driving mechanics to get ahead of the game.

The music in this game was off the chain, and in a good way. They had great artists like Static-X, MC Hush, Celldweller, Disturbed and many more to help you get pumped for the race or police chase. Obviously there were some bad songs, but whatever. The cars sounded great as well as the explosions and crashes. Downside to the soudn was for some reason when driving in 1st person on a standard audio TV you can't hear your engine making it hard to judge when shifting while driving manual.. but when on surround sound you can hear it just fine, but can't hear the car when in 3rd person. Meh. The cutscenes were ridiculous, but definitley welcomed. It was done with real people acting as characters in the game and helping you through the story. When you got arrested by the cops they showed your character getting roughed up by the police in interesting ways like slamming you onto the floor and pushing your face into the black top.

X-Box live races are pretty intense but lags alot... I mean, you'll be driving neck-to-neck with someone when their car will disappear for a few seconds and re-appear ontop of your car for no reason.
Oh and another thing, you can create your own cars for fun. By this I mean you can choose any car you unlocked in the career (not just the cars you drive, but any car you have unlocked) and give them your own customization for free and race them on X-Box Live. It was fun making a nasty Subaru WRX STi and racing it against a Lamborghini Gallardo online.

Overall, Most Wanted was a pretty fun and challenging game but it's AI was hard to overcome later on in the races and some small glitches (like hitting into a road block of police cruisers in a Ford GT doing 200mph and stopping dead after hitting one car) kept the game from being higher. I do suggest you at least give the game a try since it is easily accessable to beginners and advanced gear heads.

This game is simply awesome! I have had it for over 4 years and still enjoy the chases and races so much... If you are looking for an easily beaten game, this is not for you! you have to wrestle the cops, with their various tactics and cheats (cops are cops, after all) and survive. Storyline is cheesy, and bad guys are too much like in High School, but if you overlook that, you're in for a treat. Too bad that NFS Carbon is too short, and Prostreet is a completely different game, since a real sequel for this game would be a hit!

Great NFS Title

Best Need For Speed game ever made in my opinion. I'm not into drifting and putting subwoofers in my electronic race cars, so this game has all the good stuff I need. Cool cars, great sound, and great visuals for a game a couple years old!

NFS "Most Wanted" a winner!

Great action, solid arcade racer with gritty street venue. Very challenging as you move up against more skilled
racers.

i was HEAVILY uninspired to play through this game because of how UGLY the city was. i mean where did they model this city after?? SASKATCHUAN, NEW MEXICO? its terrible. in the first two undergrounds, the city was kool...in Carbon (which i absolutely LOVE)...the city resembles a less-flashy Las Vegas and makes for an awesome racing experience...but this city is just....Not Attractive...and its just not Fun to drive around the city at all...its just Dull and Boring. maybe because its always day time? its not even that...the city is just Uninspiring for a racing game. and WHAT IS UP WITH THE GRAPHICS FOR THE ORIGINAL XBOX?? those are THEEE WORSTTT GRAPHICSSSS I HAVE EVER SEEEN IN MY LIFEEEE. it looks like a NINTENDO 64 game :l not to mention the Driving is just not the SAME as the other games in the series...and the races are just not as Fun. not to mention the Clipping and Freezing like some other people have stated. i say stay farr away from this one...it just didnt do it for me...not when i can play Carbon and be alot more satisfied with that racing experience...or even the Original NFS:UG which is 10 times better than this, even tho you cant freeroam the city.

i have Yet to actually play NFS:UG2 which i ordered off ebay so i should get it soon...but im willing to bet its going to LOOK and PLAY 10 times better than this. they should have just Skipped over THIS completely and did Carbon.

Most Unattractive Game In The Series..

iLL .

This is probably the best Need for Speed game I have ever played. The graphics are incredible, and there are so many different features. You get to race fifteen different blacklist members, but before racing each one you must complete a certain number of challenges. There are many challenges to choose from, which also adds to the greatness of the game. After racing an opponent, you get to pick two bonus tokens from that person, like money, special parts, cars, or extra impound strikes. But sometimes during a race police come after you, and unlike in other games, you can get caught, pay tickets, and get your car impounded. I once got busted so many times I never saw my car ever again. Also, designing cars is another great feature of the game. You cannot only design your car's body, but you can purchase parts that can increase its performance. This game is definitely worth every penny you spend on it -I can't complain.

One of the best race games so far
