I can't speak for everyone, these are only my wife's and my own experiences playing this game. We rented it to decide whether we would buy it or not, and quite frankly we won't (unless the price comes down a lot. As a huge fan of the Star Wars series, the ideals of the Jedi, and a practicing martial artist with Sword interests, Jedi Powers Battle seemed interesting. To start, the technique displayed in the game is pretty visually stunning. In fact, the graphics in the game are pretty impressive all the way around. And once the rather intricate game play is mastered, ie: blocking, combos, force, did I say blocking:-), and just moving around in general, then the game is rather fun.

But that is where the fun ends. To be honest, this game seems like it was put together in a week and shipped simply to get it on the market. There are serious editing flaws such as really horrible and obscure angles where you are fighting a bad guy and not be able to even see what you are doing, and areas where you character will get "stuck" and not be able to move at all for no reason.

If somebody took this game concept and made a Jedi Powers Battle Version 2 and fixed all the problems with it, this game would probably make history. But the way it stands now, I wouldn't recommend it.

This is a great game with awesome graphics. You can be 5 cool characters, Adi Gallia, Plo Koon, Mace Windu, Obi Wan Kenobi, and Qui Gon Jin. I just love the smell of fried droids in the morning. The worst level on that game is Tationne. It is very hard too beat. All the other levels are fine. The best level is Corusant, it is so fun to kill the droids there. When you start, I reccommend you use Plo Koon because his special is very useful on bosses. I hope this review helped you.

This game needs some help...

Jedi Power Battles is a great game at first glance. The way you can destroy one droid with a killer combo and deflect two blast back to their owners is a definite plus. Also the characters and initial game concept is great. But the game has a few too many flaws...

1)The level geometry is very choppy, I have jumped up onto ledges/obstacles only to fall down and die, merely it seems because of holes in the programming.

2) The save points are way too far apart. Furthermore, the save point always drops you right back into the middle of intense crossfire. Waking up to get your butt kicked is just not cool. And, due to more holes, some bad guys do not reappear until you are standing right in their face.

3)The viewpoint of the game is very odd. Sometimes enemies that are firing at you cannot be seen, and theres nothing you can do about it. Also jumping is nearly impossible with the vantage points they give you. Perhaps a customizable viewpoint would be called for.

All in all this is a fun, but frustratingly poorly made game. It seems to be more another game to sell to Star Wars enthusiasts than an artistic well-made game. Don't waste your time.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... blah-de-blah-de blah - you know the score by now. You're a Jedi, you kick some Dark Side ass and you get the girl... or something like that anyway! Maybe?

It's nice to know that in a universe gone bad, you can always rely on the mighty Jedi to be your saviour - and in these turbulent times, you're gonna need them. Usually, only the highly honoured Jedi knights are allowed to stand in the Jedi Council (if you've got an oddly shaped head and can lift spaceships with the power of your mind, you're pretty much in) but now it's your turn to save the day in the only way you know how - with a little bit of brightly coloured slappy-stick-type action.

Following similar story lines to the film, Jedi Power Battles is one of those typical 'film licence turned into a videogame' affairs. Starting on the Trade Federation starship, you'll encounter more deadly adversaries and visit more planets as the game progresses than an intergalactic Wish You Were Here presenter.

If you've got friends, I have Chewy Dan, you can join forces with them and play side by side in the two-player mode which is great... as long as you can both co-operate. There are loads of new levels and skills to unlock as you progress through the many levels, but you can also learn new Jedi powers from the points you gain collecting items and defeating various dark forces. As well as unlocking extra characters to battle with, you can also unlock wonderful new levels such as Kaadu Racing, where shooting Theed pilots is the aim of the game... great!

Looks-wise, Jedi Power Battles is smooth and super-fluid in most places, but it does tend to be a bit blocky and badly drawn in a few others. At times the animation leaves a lot to be desired and there are glitches and bugs even in the finished version we played. However, the in-game score is just like that of the film and draws you into the game, giving it that atmospheric touch that you need, along with an abundance of laser blasts and sabre swooshes galore.

However, the gameplay is very tough and can get really irritating, especially on the jumping sections, where you can easily get shot down like a clay pigeon. While you'll find yourself roaming about, hacking the bad guys into tiny pieces most of the time, the chance to joyride one the enemy's vehicles is a welcome break from the monotony. Unfortunately, in these sections the game has an annoying tendency to allow you to get stuck in the scenery, causing you to lose a life in the process.

At the end of the day, Jedi Power Battles does exactly what you'd expect it to - there's plenty of action to get to grips with, along with enough familiar faces and locations to stick it firmly in the roots of the Star Wars universe. If you're looking for a damn tough platformer that's going to last you a fair old while... well, you could do a lot worse than this. It's just not amazing, but it's close... To a hardcore Star Wars fan, it's amazing! Maybe?

Well, I picked this title up for £6.99 st Stretford Arndale, you can't really go wrong for that price eh!

I feel that this is truely one of THE best Star Wars games out. The Lightsaber combo moves are awesome. And it follows the storyline. The music and sound fx puts you in the mood for trashing some droids.

I just bought Star Wars:JPB and it's a fast paced exciting action game. The only problem i have with the game is some of the controls. This is a great buy and will give hours upon hours of fun to action game lovers! Highly Recommend!

The fighting is fun, but the controls couldn't possibly be any harder. I've never played an impossible game to beat. The controls on this game make it impossible, though. Moreover, the graphics and music are dull and substandard. Save your money.

Best Game Ever!

Challening game! I am not on last level yet-10 levels in all.Not for beginners-takes time and patience. Level Corsucant is the hardest level-don't give up. Must buy strategy quide-can unlock new characters! Choose from 5 episode 1 characters! You get to fight destroyer droids, attack droids, flame thrower droids, tank comanders, staps, AAT, Tusken Raiders & Darth Maul.
Darth Maul is difficult to beat-he is fast! If you like Star Wars this is a must have game-great graphics, music, no glitches.

Recommend for 8 and above-not for beginners.

Be mindful of Jedi Power Battles

I'm a big star wars fan (and who isn't). So naturallly, I was excited to hear about this game. I liked the concept and looked forward to playing it. Unfortunately, I got much less than what I bargained for. First, the graphics are kinda shabby. The scenery gets in the way of the gameplay (especially jumping, which there is a lot of), and the animations of attacks often leave your player prone to damage. Second, the control is subpar. It is difficult to move your character with any kind of precision and the lock-on target mode is quite pathetic. Third, the game is extremely repetitive. While being able to build up your jedi's abilities is a nice feature, the hack-and-slash gameplay grows stale in a dissappointingly short time. For non-star wars fans, there are other action games out there that please tons more than power battles. For star wars fans, you should definitely think about a rental before purchase. In fact, the only reason I gave the game two stars instead of one is because I am quite a fan myself. Unfortunately, this game does not emulate the spectacular saga. Fellow star wars fans, we can only trust in the Force that we might someday play a game that can live up to the film's prestige.

Love it - Love it - Love it

This game is a blast. I love being able to play it both on my own and with someone else. We have been able to try it with so many different combinations that it never gets boring. And what a challange with each character different then the other. My only downfall at first was the controls - but once you get them down - the game is great. Also when you play with another person you really need to pay attention to what each other is doing. But that is what make that part of it great. After all you are supposed to be a team.
