Didn't live up to all the hype

When I bought this I had high expectatitons because how great the PC version was. Boy was I wrong. The enemies look like cardboard and their accuracy is terrible , you probably could walk your dog before they could hit you. The only good part is the sound an exeptional score . Get the soundtrack but not the game. And worst of all the voice overs are very repetitive all your team says is "Tango down" and "got him". The loadtimes are tremoundous the only good thing is during the load you get to see a man slamming bullets in a clip. What ever you do avoid this peice of junk

the only thing good about this game is the planning

This game is horrible. The only thing I liked about it is the realism of the planning mode. For those of you that don't know, in this game you must plan your missions, everything including who you bring along with you, what weapons they carry, what type of body armor they wear, etc.

Everything is realistic which helped me alot with writing my book. But other than that it isn't worth buying.

It is very hard to control the players. You are given the first person perspective. It is hard to tell what direction you're facing and where your enemies are with this type of view. It also makes you dizzy when you look around because the entire screen is moving.

But the thing I hate most is the way they made it for one player. Since you bring three people with you on your missions it only makes sence that each member be controled by a real person. Instead you must control what all three people do at the same time. As well, you must control what hostages do too.

And speaking of hostages, when you find them they can be really annoying because they follow close behind you, making it difficult to turn around and go back the other way if you accidentally take the wrong path.

I recommend you buy this game for computer but not the Play Station.

PS. Please read my other reviews.

Rainbow Six Rocks!

Rainbow Six creators have done a spectacular job. I was impressed with the awesome graphics produced. Playing Rainbow Six was like actually controling your elite force to victory, and taking down the terrorist. You have an array of arsenals with different sounds in which i've found to be very impressive. For strategy fanatics, I recommend Rainbow Six. It Rocks! Control your team to victory and take down the bad guys holding hostages. The world is in your hands, and it's up to you to rid terrorists from invading and taking over. Get Rainbow Six, it's awesome. You'll thank me later.

Game of the year for PSX !

If you ask me, this is the best "black ops" game for playstation since Syphon Filter. In this game you can command your own team of three counter-terroist or Seals. The thing that sets this game different from the others is that you can choose your own weapons including sidearms, granades, flashbangs, door charges , and heart beat sensors which can dectect electronic fields given off by the beating of the heart. This game is extreamly exciting. There has been many times I have jumped up because a terrorist has shot me when I did not see him. I really hope you decide to get this game while it is the hottest on the market.

Worst Game Ever

Now I'm not saying that the Rainbow 6 for PC is bad. The PC game is the best. The Playstation version is the sooooo bad. You go around in first person view. But unlike the PC game you you get a DOOM of Goldeneye type view with the gun on you screen. Some of the levels were changed. It is almost impossible to aim you gun. And there is no planning screen all you do is choose who gos and where they go in. If you played or own the PC or N64 Verson (the N64 wasn't good eather, but it was better) you will be disapointed. It is really a totally different game. I give it one thumb up and one thumb down.

Not the worst game ever

Ok, so the graphics look like they were made with crayons, and the a.i. is pretty bland and has really bad aim. That's the only problems I have with this game. I'm not saying it's spectacular, but it's definitely not the worst game ever.

Lots of people griping about the controls. I only have one problem with them--the look-around is somewhat sluggish and seems to move on a wide grid rather than a completely free range. So if you're looking over the terrorist's right shoulder, it might take a bit of adjusting to center on him. It's not TOO bad though, because you can usually adjust before the guy shoots you since the a.i. has bad aim. So the flaws even themselves out in this case.

Rescue hostages, disarm bombs. There's not much variety to your objectives, but the locales change a lot. The graphics may be bad, but you still get a feel for the different places you go to, and that's pretty fun.

If you're looking for a game with a storyline, this one isnt' for you. It's just a string of missions, really. The entire storyline is this: "A top secret counterterrorist squad codenamed Rainbow thwarts terrorist attacks around the globe." And there's nothing else to it.

It's not a great game, but if you're looking for something cheap to kill some time with, this could be the thing for you.

If you're looking for amazing a.i. and decent or good graphics, though, this is definitely not for you.

can't believe it's a "clancy"

I looked forward for this "six" to come out for my mac computer. I bought the playstation version on impulse. If dissapointment has a pix in the dictionary you will see me. the controlls are poor - can't shoot well. the graphics are first generation. my first experience with playstation was metal gear - solid. Clancy should check this great game out for inspirition in graphics and overall play. I like the idea of using team play but in reality it is only a one member game. Having real life experience, I like selecting the troops and gear....but.... not a fun game. I feel that money and time were wasted.

This game is so realistic. You get to assemble your own strike team, select different weapons, and complete a number of very realistic missions. I found this game to be hours of fun. Once I started playing, I found it hard to stop. You'll love it if you love realistic action adventure games.

Play it on a PC, Pass on it for Playstation

This is a really challenging, fun, realistic (I guess, I'm not intimately familiar with counter-terrorist strike teams)game on the PC. It is absolutely horrible on Playstation, the controls are impossible to use, a complete waste of money for the Playstation.

Once again, i want my money back.

Absolutly unplayable is the best way i can describe this one. the control options you're given are usless. i gave up after about twenty minutes when i realized that there was no way to aim any of the dozens of weapons you're given at a target before it gets away from you. If it were controlable [and maybe a bit classier looking] this would probably be a wonderful game, but I at least will never know cuz i just can't do it. Make sure you rent it first.
