Worst game i have EVER played!

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 1 / 2

When i first got this game (i was only 10 at the time) i went right to the training area. the first thing i noticed was the terreble graphics. They are totally dull, boring, and plain. So then i went through part of the training course that showed you basic movement, which i noticed was awful. Then i got to the target range. This is the moment i fully understood how hard the game was going to be (and no, not cuz i sucked at fps's when i was ten). The aiming was so twitchy and out of control i could not hit a single target. And now even today i struggle to hit the targets on that course.

The rest of the game is sadly, much the same.

Oh, and, forget about run mode, R6 seems to have a very low framerate or something, cuz you cant see a stupid thing while your running through cramped hallways and cramped doorways.

You know, i could rant on all day about how bad Rainbow Six is (at least for PS), but just take my word ( and most other peoples word) for it and don't buy this piece of trash

Not the worst game ever

Ok, so the graphics look like they were made with crayons, and the a.i. is pretty bland and has really bad aim. That's the only problems I have with this game. I'm not saying it's spectacular, but it's definitely not the worst game ever.

Lots of people griping about the controls. I only have one problem with them--the look-around is somewhat sluggish and seems to move on a wide grid rather than a completely free range. So if you're looking over the terrorist's right shoulder, it might take a bit of adjusting to center on him. It's not TOO bad though, because you can usually adjust before the guy shoots you since the a.i. has bad aim. So the flaws even themselves out in this case.

Rescue hostages, disarm bombs. There's not much variety to your objectives, but the locales change a lot. The graphics may be bad, but you still get a feel for the different places you go to, and that's pretty fun.

If you're looking for a game with a storyline, this one isnt' for you. It's just a string of missions, really. The entire storyline is this: "A top secret counterterrorist squad codenamed Rainbow thwarts terrorist attacks around the globe." And there's nothing else to it.

It's not a great game, but if you're looking for something cheap to kill some time with, this could be the thing for you.

If you're looking for amazing a.i. and decent or good graphics, though, this is definitely not for you.

Its Not All bad

In this life of Playstation 2 and Rainbow Six 3 coming out i figured it was time to get caught up as ive recently become interested in Clancy's Jack Ryan books and as a major fan of John Clark i figured it was time to track down this game and play it. I enjoy first person shooter games like Bond and the Medal of Honor series. One thing i love about Six is that there is more of a level of reality to it because nothing is more obnoxious than playing a game and having your character absorb a hundred shots to the head and hes still plugging along shooting baddies. And then you run into the "boss" baddie and use a rocket launcher and unload three clips into him before he dies. In this game if you get shot in the head your done, you shoot a baddie in the knees and his leg buckles out from underhim. if one of your team members is KIA they dont come back, and you have to wait for your team members to heal if they were wounded in battle. Yes the graphics are a little rough but it is still fun to play cause it takes more strategy than your average FPS. and yes the controls were horrible at first but in the 1st controller setting ive gotten so use to being able to sidestep around corners its become an invaluable technique for surviving in the terrorist filled world. Can't wait to go home and play even more!

nice concept, interesting enough missions, but bad gameplay

I have never played any of the Rainbow Six games before, I've never read any of the books with that title. I picked this game up at an exchange place. I traded 2 other PS1 games I never played for it. It sounds interesting, playing counterterrorism experts, going in and taking out the bad guys, doing all sorts of missions...plus, it's a really nice look at the various ways they do missions, work together as a team, and you get to check out all the different weapons they use.

That's all fine and dandy, but the gameplay is too difficult. The game uses all the buttons, PLUS the buttons on the analog controllers too. It's very awkward overall. To run, you have to hold in the left controls while pushing forward or backward or whatever. To aim the gun, you have to use your right hand for both aiming and shooting (I usually throw my left thumb on the control to aim, because doing it with your right feels so odd, and it's nearly impossible to land on anyone.) Easy mode comes into play here, because I think it aims for you a bit. Either way, aiming is too hard to make it a great game. Even walking is a challenge sometimes, because you have so many different controls and buttons you have to use.

The missions I have played so far are fairly easy in the lowest setting (easy mode), and you get all 3 guys to play with, but like other reviews have mentioned, the buildings are boring. There is barely any furniture in any of them, and they all look fairly the same.

On the issue of the interaction with others in the game...it's rather odd. The ambassador in the first mission is standing in the middle of a room, but the terrorists couldn't find him? Also, the terrorists are very bad aims (again, in easy mode)...they'll take 10 shots before they even hit you, and it might take you ten shots just to aim the controls without going past them and actually take them down. Maybe I haven't had enough experience with the controls and it gets easier, but I doubt it gets easy enough where it feels normal.

Not bashing the game, because so far, I like it. It's enjoyable, and it's nice that you can select a difficulty level, and it's an interesting concept overall. With better controls and more depth and work done on each environment, this game could have been a lot better. I like it enough tho, and I'll keep playing till I beat it or get tired of it.

So you want to know about Rainbow Six?

This game is ok I guess. I rated it 4-5-4
The Game does get boring after you play and beat it a million times.
It is a good teaching game that shows kids what kind of stuff these people do. They protect the little people..lol

This game is a good first person shooter. If you like games that shoot, or killing people to save people. This game is for you

This video game is awesome. The guns and gameplay are like no other video game. This game has better graphic than any game you will find out there even the ones on Xbox.

Do not buy

I bought this game probably 4 or 5 months ago. I wanted a game that was more of a military shooters type game. After reading the reviews and asking the clerk about the game I decided to purchase this game. The controls are way to difficult. If I am leading a team against terriosts, I do not have time to look at the manuel to determine what the X button was for again when I am in a dog fight with terrorist. I thought this game would be something like Syphon Filter. But this game does not even come close. But the one thing I did like about the game is the opening to this video game and the music. Only if they could have made the game for gamer friendly and have an option of first person shooter and third person shooter, this game would have been a great shooting game. I traded this game in for Madden 2001. I was very disappointed with how complicated the buttons were.
