Terrible, Boring, Lame, Don't Waste Your Time

Haven't we done this before? The maps look the same, the weapons are boring, and the characters are, once again silly. This game reminds me of the disappointment I felt while watching the new Star Wars movies. Characters or childish, and the plot is entirely un-inventive. Save $60 and play Halo 2 again.

A bit disappointing...

I must say that I am rather let down by the look of Halo 3. I have been playing both Call Of Duty 4 Demo and Bioshock for a while now, and expected the same crisp lines and detail level from this title. It's just not there. This game looks like Quake to me, very cartoonish and rough. The animations of the non-player characters are very, very stiff. I should state that I have never played the previous Halo titles before, and purchased this game on the wave of pre-release chatter, so might not understand the established look and feel of the game environments.

All in all a bit of a let down, I am sad to say.

For the record, I have a Panasonic 52" HDTV with superb detail, and other 360 games look great.

Before I get to the actual review, be careful when you read them because someone just blabed part of the ending...

First of all, I'd change how fun it is to four stars (to be loyal) because (I CAN'T believe I'n saying this) this game wasn't all that fun. The story line was sooooooooooo better than Halo 2 and it soooooo awesome that you team up with (somebody who you'll find out). But it was kinda dumb. They changed what you press for stuff like X used to be for getting into vehicles and loading your weapon etc... But they changed that. And you can throw these...things that stop bullets which it sorta dumb too. Some of the new vehicles are really dumb. Like the brute vehicles. The Hornet is kinda cool but the Banshee is better. It sucks that you can only battle, Brutes, grunts, Jackels, and Flood. It isn't as fun, really, that you can't just fight all Covenant and the Flood. The slightly ruined the game in Halo 2 but they really did in halo 3.

Any one who thinks that halo is less than a 3 star game needs to go jump off a bridge. why do you keep trying to criticize one of the best games for the console. By the way if you think that the 360 is too expensive then you should be at work making money and not playing video games!!!Something that has also been on my mind is the fact that people who havent played it before are posting reviews. If you havent played the game don't post a review because no one cares about your assumptions or the rumors that creep into your head especialy when you have NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! one more thing i have noticed is the anyone who posts bad things about halo ,like the multiplayer being boring and plain ,or saying its just like halo 2( like it's a bad thing ).These know-it-alls usually have difficulty beating campaign on easy and have inferior playing skill when it comes to online game play. We halo fans just call those people noobs! :P

This is the Flagship of the X360?

Not a bad game, decent graphics average sound. The solo campaign is enjoyable. Controls are difficult as it is hard to switch to auxillary weapons etc. Multiplayer is confusing and not much fun. I can't believe this is the flagship of microsoft though. It seams like not much effort was put into the game and that Microsoft just relied on the Halo name brand. Not a bad game but no where no the hype level produced by it. At least its the end of the series...

WTF???

This is perhaps the most over hyped game ever. Same old stuff as Halo and Halo 2. I don't know why people fall into the traps laid by microsoft to increase their hardware sales. I played this game the same day I got it and I must say that it is very short. 8 hours the most. The graphics are decent, but not as good as other games on the 360. Multiplayer sucks.........So if you want to save 60 bucks, stick to your old Halos......

--ALL YOU HALO FANBOYS OUT THERE PLEASE DO NOT HATE ON THE PS3 FANS COZ YOU GUYS ARE THE SAME--

Not worth the hype

This game is exactly what microsoft made it to be with the millions it spent on marketing. I am big on graphics, after all this is supposed to be NEXT GEN. This game looks like Halo 2 with a few extra textures tacked on. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE. Get Bioshock, a game that has amazing graphics and balanced gameplay. The single player campaign in this game is overwrought and the AI is CHEAP. You will find yourself throwing the controller in frusteration. Get BIOSHOCK and save your money.

Worth every penny.

This game rocked! I loved the graphics, game play, and story. I was not let down with my purchase. If you loved the first 2 games, you will love this one. My one and only gripe is the length of the single player campaign, it was too short. As others have said, about 10 hours long, not as long as Halo 2.However, the game does have replay ability and the multiplayer is outstanding. Also, you must go through the credits to see the rest of the ending. It doesn't matter what level you play at. You will see the ending after the credits.

Overall Ranking: 4th best console game of all time!

Halo 3 more than ever deserves all the hype it has received. The game is an outstanding example of gameplay mixed with storytelling in a manner that draws the player in, in such a manic, unrelenting intensity that sets the bar very high, almost impossibly high, for other game developers seeking to dethrone the king of first-person shooters (fps).

The reviews garnered by Halo 3 tell it all:

"On 9/25 the Xbox 360 received a new game from Microsoft Game Studios titled Halo 3. Since then 23 sites and magazines have reviewed it including Gamer 2.0, Game Informer, GameSpy and IGN. Together their reviews have resulted in an average ratio of 95.9%. That ratio has resulted in this title becoming the 4th best game of all time and the 1st best game on the Xbox 360." [ http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/926632.asp ]

Halo 3's multiplayer is second to none. It offers all sorts of match-making options and gametypes. Bungie did their homework and delivered in spades. Halo 3 will be played for years to come. Believe!
