Beautiful Disappointment

I've played about 1,000 matches of Halo 3 on Xbox live. The game looks great and the graphics are some of the best I've seen. The game can be fun at times, but it is incredibly frustrating. The weapons are amazingly inconsistent-sometimes one shot will kill you and sometimes 12 will not. You can review your deaths during a match on the theater mode and you will be simply astounded with how arbitrary the weapons' damages are. I'd recommend buying something else.

The wait is over details are finally in. This Halo will surly be the best of them all. Hopefully Bungie will add more weapons, and a longer game. As for multiplayer they should allow it so you can play co-op online with other people around the world. The way they have now you can only play slayer and objective games online. Also they should incorporate AI in multiplayer. The covenant & flood should be able to be in the game, mabey even allowing them to be playable. If Bungie is reading this make sure you have these things in here and this will be the best selling game in history.
*Note* This may not be the end of master chief this is just the end of the halo trilogy.

Microsoft has done it again -- they've packaged hot air and sold it to the public for an outrageous price. The graphics aren't up to snuff, and the story line might as well be too. I don't know which is more dumb -- the game or me for buying into the hype.

I played this game in the store on base for about an hour or so...what a letdown. I knew there was no-way it could live up to the hype, but this game is bland, boring and the graphix could be found on a PS2. The gunz feel like you are shooting a BB gun. Save your $$$ for COD4.

It's a shame that this is the last of the series its probably good in a way since every one will just keep comparing it to Halo Combat Evolved which in my opinion Halo 2 is the best out of the whole series. I finally just got hooked to Halo 3 I took a long break from it due to GH3 Rock Band and now just getting into COD4 and let me tell this is one of the finest fps shooters I've played since Goldeneye. (please note I am not a hardcore gamer). I am probably one of the worst Halo players out there but that doesn't stop me from having fun this game has hours and hours of replay value and is worth the $60 they charge you for it. This is a must-have for any xbox 360 owner, and XBOX LIVE GOLD is essential if you want to gain lots of replay value. The only problem I have with this game is the guns Halo 2 has much better weapons but aside that thats the only problem I have with this game the maps are now just growing on me and I love them and can't wait for new maps in the spring pick this up if you have a 360 with xbox live gold!

What more needs to be said!!! Who the crap would give this game a bad review?!?! Blah, blah blah, Halo 1 used to do this, blah blah, Halo2 was better. Get real, its more user friendly, enhanced graphics, and lets remember children...it always forward we move and never back!

Gameplay is awesome, the AI (enemies) are smarter and more effective, which makes the game a little harder then Halo 2, 4 player co-op in campaign mode so you and your possie can defend the world together. When I first played it with my roomate he was the master chief and I played as the alien Arbitor(The alien dude you play as in Halo 2).

Not to mention a whole mess of new levels in Live/Multiplayer mode. Lord knows I have worn the pants out of LOCKOUT and Ascension! I am barely touching the greatness of this game. If you like Halo even the slightest bit....buy it now and dissapear for months with your friends and be sure to leave your girlfriend/wife a note that you will not be able talk or make eye contact for quite some time. P.S. Dont you dare walk across the screen when Im whippin that @$$!!!

Halo 3: A letdown

Halo 3, practically a gamer's messiah. Halo has been one the most important video game franchises since 2001. Yes, we know that. and now after all of those late night frenzies in Halo and 2, the finale is upon us...

Obviously expectations were high. The Xbox 360 riding on this thing, and the whole marketing campaign and all. Anyways, when it all cam down to it, after taking my disc out of the collector's edition case (Middle edition), I put it in, and it worked. Phew. Then we get to the menue. it's slim and organized. Campaign, multiplayer, map editor, filmaker, that's it. So I start campaign...

The cutscenes weren't that good, but they weren't that bad. and we see the same Halo we've played for years, and it's well... Raher cartoonish! The graphics are good, don't get me wrong, but they just have an airless artificiality about them. And it feels like your playing a port of Halo 2, rather than a Halo game, it just is "okay." That's really the only way I can describe it. The new weapons and vehicles are fun, but the level design it both campaign and multiplayer let me down. The campaign has poor level design, with linear small areas, and the controls are changed, as is the HUD, making the expereince a little more difficult. And the multiplaer levels, are just better looking, less maneuverable counterparts of Halo 2 ones, minus a few. so there are many obvious things that bring it down.

And for all their efforts, the story is presented as well as Halo 1 (but better than 2).

Still, it is a game that can give you many little bits of fun. Xbox Live will let us enjoy it for years.

Overall, Halo 3 is good, for the most part a superb version of halo 2 (+ more) that just turns out to be a bit of a letdwon. For once I can't support a Halo title for game of The year.

Graphics are great. Ive only played a few hours, appears Gameplay similar too, if not exact to halo 2. Same weapons, same enemies over and over again.....

Gripe.....HOw lame not being able to hide and duck behind cover like you can in Gears of War or ghost reocon. Last I checked this was 2007 not 1999.

Nice to see microsoft cutting loose the people who bought the first console

I bought the first Halo and the second Halo. Now if I want the third Halo, I have to throw away the entire console and buy the 360 for $400+tax, then new controllers, etc. Thanks Microsoft for making the game exclusive for the 360 and cutting loose all the people who bought your products in the past.
