A Legend in Its Own Right.

One of the best installments in one of the best series ever, and perhaps one of the biggest achievements in video game history. I own the original Link's Awakening( for regular Game Boy), and the DX( color) version too. I have to say, with 8 challenging dungeons( 9 in color), a storyline that draws you in, various side quests, tons of fun secrets to discover, and stunning graphics, this has probably the most replay value of any game in my library. If you're finding it too easy, you can easily increase the Challenge simply by not purchasing Crazy Tracy's secret potion, thereby effectively halving your hit points. It's definitely worth seeing in Color, especially the redone ending. While the added features of the color version aren't earth-shattering changes, they are fun, and in color, I felt like I was playing a whole new game, with the familiar feel of an old quest. But what do I know, I'm just a reviewer( inside joke to the players)! So don't take my word for, instead, try it, and be prepared for the best handheld experience of your life.

Legend of Zelda:Link's Awakening DX.....

Link's Awakening is probably the best Gameboy version of Zelda ever. Although, that is left to ones' opinion....It is in my opinion, however, to be.
The game begins with Link waking up in a hut. He is told by the locals that to leave and go back to Hyrule, he must awaken the Wind Fish. It lives inside an egg on top of a nearby mountain and can only be lulled from its' sleep by playing eight magical instruments. You spend your time trying to round up these eight instrumants but, in order to do so, you have to endure varying types of puzzles, traps and enemies. Each puzzle you're faced with has a logical solution, and you'll only come across a few situations that will require you to leave and get new items from the outside. Koholint Island, is big(by Gameboy standards anyhow) - even more so when you consider the hidden underground passageways, dungeons, and waterways so you'll have plenty of exploring to do with alot of secrets to uncover. You'll definitely spend countless hours playing this game.
Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance owners are granted access to an all-new exclusive dungeon(although it isn't required or necessary to complete the game) plus those with a Gameboy printer get a photo scrapbook of Link's adventures that you can copy...hence the DX(deluxe) added at the end of the title of this version.
This is one classic that shouldn't be missed. If you've played any of the other Legend of Zelda games, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You don't know what you're missing.

Best Game Boy game ever; second best Zelda game ever

With The Minish Cap coming out soon, and looking to be another disappointment (I will reserve final judgment until I actually play it, but it has a definite Wind Waker vibe), the handheld gamer would do well to revisit this classic. The gameplay is incredible and compelling and the story is perhaps the best in the series; the only two faults with this game are minor for any true gamer. The graphics aren't very good; the sprites are simply poorer-quality A Link to the Past sprites oftentimes, but the game is so good one will hardly notice. The sound effects are pretty poor, but, thankfully, there's always the music to compensate for that...and what good music.

It feels like ALttP, looks like it, plays like it, and is second only to that excellent SNES game.

It's Was Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked this game because there is lot of adventure and action. This game has lots of weapons to kill your opponent and it's long so you can play it for a long time.

This game is the best. Playing legend of zelda dx kept me playing for hours, even above higher quality games. This game is just plain fun. Eight Dungeons, and a secrect one in the graveyard. Is it worth buying again to see it in color? YES! This is the greatest game boy game ever!

Nintendo took the best game from the original game boy and brought it back to life. This is just Link's Awakening with color. Nintendo added an extra dungeon and a photo shop. Once you find the photo shop the photographer will pop up in various places and snap a picture. This game is a must buy- even if you already have the original.

One of the best Zelda games

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is not a traditional Zelda game. However, it is one of the best. The story is very good and I thought it was very interesting and entertaining.

The enemies and bosses are challenging to beat. The controls are nothing new; put equipment to the A or B buttons and use it. The graphics are pretty good and the world is very colorful. The new features in the DX Game Boy Color version add more to the experience, like the photo shop and the new dungeon

All in all, this a very fun game. It's challenging, entertaining and colorful.

Really Terrific Beautifull Video Game!!!

Zelda is one of the first games i had for game boy. I have had it for a year and i'm still playing it. some of the puzzles are hard to solve but the game is fun. It is one of the only games that let you go up down left and right. That is one thing that makes this game so cool. I suggest getting this game if you want a game that will last you a long time. This is truley a awsome game.
