Why does everyone like this game

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 4 / 26

It is has to many puzzle elements and the screen respawns everytime you leave making combat somewhat pointless. It is boring and the Final Fantasy Legend( 2 and 3 are best)& Adventure games are MUCH better, but are hard to find.

I Really Don't Advise Getting This Product

Do NOT buy any Zelda game for GB. We have the original Links Awakening-BORING. Very challenging gameplay but it is not replayable at all. Pretty lame storyboard (Wind fish?) and easy bosses. The puzzles are kinda hard but the island is big and roomy. Overall a 3 star product-only after you play it once and no more.

A good Zelda game, but not the best

This is a side story and it is implied that the whole thing is Link's dream. Play this if you're bored, but if not, don't bother, it's not really worth going out of your way for. It is long and occasionally boring. I would suggest Ocarina of time, Link's Awakening, or if you're just looking for GB get Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.

Fun but Hard

Zelda is a really entertaining game in which you are trying to awake the Wind Fish. You go around to different caves to fight and earn musical instruments. You must collect seven to win the game. I enjoyed the game at the beginning but it gets boring after a while. It is also very hard and I got stuck many times at many different points in the game. I would only reccomend this game to people who want to spend hours trying to find a key to a cave or walking around aimlessly not knowing what you are looking for.

Great SNES fun ready to take on the go

From the very first game on the old Nintendo, I have always enjoyed the Zelda games. I was very excited to find out when they released this first gameboy version so I could take the games with me. There are other Zelda gameboy/GBA games since which I have yet to play, but I do reccomend this one for your library.
The level of play is very in depth, way more than the original Zelda's but about half the size of the Super NES Zelda game. The game play and style is also more similar to the Super NES version.
Its a basic tale as Link is trapped on an island of mystery. You collect items and beat different mini-monsters trying to solve the riddles. There is also an owl you can call for help if you ever get confused on your adventure. There is also an onboard detailed map so there is no additional manuals or guides needed to lug around to play this game.
There actually was a bug in the system which frustrated me and stopped me from playing this game for a while. It involved a warp flute in a later level and I accidently warped onto a statue causing Link to be stuck in some pixel overlap mishap. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this game, and as long as you are careful with that whistle...you will too!

Zelda DX is one of the most fun RPG's i've ever played for game boy or game boy color. It has a long, twisted, funny, story line in which you save damsles in destress and defeat monsters while tou try to escape from the island.

Satisfactory

If you are new to the Zelda series, you will probably want to get this game because it is a good introduction into the series. However, if you have played Zelda before and want a GBC game, get Oracle of Seasons or Ages instead. This game goes back to basics, but this time, Link is stranded on an island after a merciless storm at sea. As usual, he doesn't have any weapons at the beginning of the game, and picks them up as he goes along. I'd recommend getting the DX version of this game, because it is in color and you get an extra dungeon that you can play if you want to, but it isn't required.

Link's Awakening is one of those games that doesn't get dull very fast. I've beaten it 4 times and I'm still not bored.

If you've ever played Ocarina of Time on N64, you may recognize some of the characters and items, such as the boomerang, hookshot, and an expensive bow and arrow. (Not so expensive, however, if you know how to steal from the shop!) New items include Secret Seashells, which you can use to upgrade your sword; Roc's feather, allows you to jump; and the Power Bracelet, which you can use to lift heavy objects.

The overall object of the game is to wake the Wind Fish, which sleeps in an egg on a mountain on the island. This can only be done by collecting the eight Sirens Instruments (the things you get after beating all the dungeons).

The reason I titled this review "Satisfactory" was because I liked the game, but now that I have both of the Oracle games, I much prefer them, just because of the ability to change seasons and time warp, etc.

But if you don't have a Zelda game, get this one!

Zelda is one of the most entertaining games for gameboy

The legend of Zelda Link's Awakening is one of the most entertaining games for gameboy color. The first day i got this game i spent hours playing it. There are many mysterys in this game. The point of the game is to find the 8 instruments and awaken the sleeping fish. As you travle through the 4 direction game you discover many side games. This game doesnt have the best graphics but it is great compared to other games. The music is good too. I suggest this game for someone who enjoys puzzles and wants a game that will last them a long time. You will enjoy this game as much as i did.

It was a little hard and a little long for a bad ending.
Overall it was fun. A must if you're a fan of Zelda or an rpg fan. I loved it!

fun but frusterating game

I think that this is a really fun game and all, but it is really frusterating trying to get past that seventh level. If anyone has some advice for me it would be really appreciated. The reason I rate this game with four stars overall is because of the thought they put into making it but it would have been five stars if it had anything to do with the fabled princess Zelda from the other games. But this game is ultimatley fun and anyone who hasn't tried it should try it. Another game or two people should try is The Legand of Zelda a Link to the Past, The Legand of Zelda Ocarina of Time, and The Legand of Zelda Majora's Mask. Personally I've beaten all the games listed there.
