A really great game! Spectacular graphics mixed with first person views while driving the ball makes this game really, really fun! The mini-games are also really fun. This game has the best graphics for any Game Boy game ever!

Best sporting game for GBC yet

I am not a golfer, however after being disappointed with many of the sports titles on GBC I decided that I had nothing to lose by buying Mario Golf. I am glad I did! Mario Golf is a great balance between reality and not so real that it is impossible to do well unless your name is Tiger. The player development gives an adventure theme to the game and the ability to challenge a friend's character through the link is the only way to settle the debate with my coworker about who has the best character and plays the best golf. Each morning as I leave for work I can't go out the front door until I have Mario Golf with me for a round or two on the bus ride to and from work!

This game ROCKS DA HOUSE!

I got Mario Golf for Christmas about a year ago, and it's cool! It incorporates all the real-life aspects of golf (well...almost, except for the golf carts and being able to move your character on the hole). I played it for a long time, accidentaly erased it (I didn't realy care, it was a pretty bad game). Then, I beat all four club tournaments. There are 4 clubs, some of which are hard to beat. It took me a month to beat the fourth one. It then finally puts the "Mario" into the game-with a Princess Peach's Castle Course (which I am currently working on)! This game does require a lot of practice on it, but once you do get good, it's really fun! The only thing is that there was another Mario Golf Game for the original Game boy, so for all you Black and White Game Boy Fans out ther, you aren't missing anything. There are also minigames, which give you exp. and sometimes which gives you strategies for playing, like if someone offers to show you how to do an approach shot. The only thing the game is lacking is aging-your character stays the same, even if you play it for 10 years! But overall, this is a goood game :)

This is an absolutely brilliant game, although I have not beaten any of the tournaments yet but I am working on them, I have owned this game since April 2000 and it is a brilliant game I have never been keen on proper golf until now. This is one of the best games for the Gameboy man. James

PS If anyone knows how I can beat the tournaments then please e-mail me at jamesfisher14@hotmail.com or jamesfisher14@yahoo.co.uk

The best Game Boy Game I have played

Mario Golf blends rpg elements with the great game of golf. You start out by creating a character then putting points into different skills. As you play courses, practice, or enter contests you gain experience and your character goes up in levels. This earns you more points to put into each skill level. The graphics are wonderful for a game boy game and the controls are simple and easy to learn. Four courses are available, each with a different theme, and tons of mini games in practice areas help change up the game play. The game is one of the best golf games I have ever played and can be very addicting. If you have a game boy and like golf at all, do yourself a favor and get this game.

Addictive, but a little too easy

Mario Golf is a good RPG/sports game. The basic premise is to develop your golf-playing character, win four tournaments and beat 6 golfers in matchplay (including Mario - "the greatest golfer of all time"). You can move around the clubhouse, and other locations, talking to other players who provide you with tips to develop your game. As you become more experienced, your character improves - s/he is able to hit further, and more accurately.

The game is very easy to pick up and get going with. Controls are reasonably intuitive, and the first couple of tournaments and golfers are really easy. The game is pretty addictive, but the only letdown is that while the last couple of courses are comparatively difficult, they are still a little too easy to complete (at least for a 20-something gamer).

However, it is still quite re-playable, and definitely one of the better sports games on GBC.

At first I never even thought about getting this game, as I had th N64 installment. But then I played it, and got hooked. Its the greatest idea I've ever heard of....

There are tons of secrets too. Another great thing is th many mini games scattered throughout the world.

But the best secret in the game is th ability to access Wario. It is a must get game!

Good, but hard near the end

This game has a lot of good parts. The graphics are excellent, the music is pretty good (though it does get a little annoying after a while, and the gameplay is relly good. There are plenty of "easter eggs" such as hidden power up mushrooms, and the learning curve is not too steep. The only complaint I would have is theat the last tounament is a little too hard for most people (my friend had to try 25 times probably before he beat it, and I still haven't beat it yet. This game is slightly more realistic than the N64 version, but this is not a bad thing. My final review... buy this game if you like other golf/sports games.

Mario golf is the best game for gameboy period.

this game is awesome. it is a very very addicting game. the grafics are great, gameplay out of sight, there are so many things that you can unlock but i wont tell you. the more courses you win the better it is for your drive, control and the stuff you can unlock. i highly recommend you buy this game even if u dont like golf that much.

What an awesome game
