I am a 12 year old reviewer...I have a pentium 2 350mhz 128mb ram soundblaster audigy and a geforce 4 mx 440. And it runs like a dream on the highest settings about 60-100 fps....it has the graphics and sound to keep up with todays games and it is just as fun as your classics. Just go buy this...So go buy this game after you buy the system.

KICK SOME BOOTY

This is a fun game. For anyone who wants some all out action, this is for you. No story, no plot, no progression....just kick some booty. I think that this is a great way to spend an afternoon, just blasting people away on-line but it might not be for everyone. If you like your games with a little story and to be a little more involved, download the demo and save your money. Great game!

Great 3D Graphics, BUT...

I have gotten this game for Christmas. The graphics are fantastic, however the game itself are played out. For every arenas you passed, it seems like your are playing the same identical enemies in the next. Just some slight varations on the weapons of choice, but the story line are basically the same. If you gamers are into 3D graphics and sounds, this is the game for you.

I like action games and FPS's so naturally I tried out Q3A. Unfortunatly, this really stinks. The lackluster single-player is basically running around a small, uninspired map shooting and the intelligent blur that is your opponent. Speaking of AI, after the first half of the single-player game the enemies you face are literally impossible to beat unless you have cheat codes. Xaero is especially frustrating because his aim is always perfect. That's not intelligence, that's inhuman perfection. Another problem is the weapons that haven't changed (except for power and rate of fire changes) since the original Quake. I gave Q3A 2 stars because it did have an ambitious idea but it didn't make it. I also own UT (you can see my review of that too) and it is much better so buy it instead.

The sequel to mega blockbuster hits, Quake and Quake II.

Quake 3 is back, better then ever. The mostly popular FPS comes back with a mulitplayer mode with improved gameplay and Computer A.I. This addictive game is going to be around for a while...

Not good for low mhz users,

This game is okay but not the best. If you are like me and have a low mhz on your computer you should forget about this games or wait a long time to connect. A low mhz is below 500. I tried this game on my friends computer which has a higher mhz and it worked so fast, the connections took only ten seconds.Even though with that fast mhz there were many "Connection Interrupted" That you have to blame on the server. Besides the speed of your computer interfers with the game the game itself is not good at all. The only part I like is the capture the flag and the teamdeathmatch but they are always full. The only time I get to play in those levels are at night after 9 o'clock. The one player are very easy to beat. In one level the bots just walk around even if you stand right in front of them. This is like level 7. The bots always say the same things. "You got me because I was aming for your brains""Begginners luck" Okay the graghcs are the best, but what the use if the whole game stinks. I say any other game is better. Unreal is very good.

Great Game!

Quake 3 Arena is the revolution in single player games. It makes me restless at night because of its awesome gameplay and online experiance. It is a must have!

Ripoff City!!

The game will not run! Customer Service at Activision is out to lunch -- permanently -- and not too interested. Once you've bought it, you are out of luck. And buy your computer a carbon-steel chastity belt BEFORE installing it. I gave this mess one star only because I had no lower options.

Quake: bigger, badder, bloodier; 3 words. Quake III

This game is the most advanced multi-player experience I have had to date. The graphics are stunning, the framerate on my Voodoo3 is very smooth, and the weapons are the best multi-player mix to date. The bad part about this game is the foolish AI. It's so incredably predicatble that even a mediocre player like me can defeat it. I also think that the game could do with less sloppy coding. The game expects to much from the computer you have, instead of using better code.
