Game is not for All MMO players

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 5 / 17

this game is a good game but its not for all MMO players its mainly for those that get board easily hehe who are low income and also for those that whine about kill steals

I like this game as it is set to where you can do most things solo at a early lvl and later on when you are established in a guild you can play for the higher lvls or just look around for a group granted there is some that rush through and some that dont know what they are doing there are always people like this in games but it is rewarding when you find a group that knows what to do and dont leave anyone behind if possible

i have a lvl 10 elementalist ranger at the moment and i have solowed for the most part with myself or 1 person in game or npc group of 3 others with myself the group max is 4 now i believe i havent done any pvp yet but from the reviews ive read i doubpt i want to there are some invisable walls but you arnt lead down a path all the time you can cut crossed country in alot of areas

Economy is like all other games can be high in areas as people are greedy most of the stuff is found and sold on a auction channel of sorts but most basic thigns are bough from npc's

the avatars in my opinion as a female very beautiful atleast the elementalist but yes as in all games you have scruffy looking fellows too

The bottom line here is what one man's or woman's opinion of a game is not always the opinion you would give a game my advice is try it if ya dont like it sell it used or something like that or see if there is a trial or spend all your time reserching it and let somone else dictate rather you will or wont like a game you will never know till you play it for yourself.

Build Wars - Taking the World by Storm

Sometime you have to realize and accept that this game is not your ordinary mmorpg. You can beat this game, 100%. You can play every mission, finish every quest, and unlock every town. You can have a lvl 20 elite character with armor worth 1 million gold that even looks 1 million times more uber than your cheap set with the exact same stats. Cant afford to be pimp? No worries! Ebay is just a click away. So, Ive got my pimpin gear. Then what? This is PVE, so lets go kill some fake monsters who run in circles with some fake henchman who also run in circles. Sweetness. But now Im bored; these enemies arent human and dont cuss and call me a noob when I kill them. Now what? PVP? Yes, that is available. You can unlock every upgrade and skill very easily, duh, all you need to do is play 10 hours a day or use a faction bot and you'll get them in no time. Then? Congrats, you are now able to play any build. So head to an 8 man tournament. You can go with a PUG group for instant playing, nobody is stopping you. Will you progress? Yeah, dont worry, everyone wins once after 100 tries with a PUG group . Ok, but how about joining an organized group? Oh yes, you can. First, you must flash your rank, because if you didnt know, your experience with playing is directly proportional to your rank. Ask any rank 9 who got his account off ebay, he will concur that he is 9x more skilled than any of you because he can make a sexy yellow dragon. So now youve got your 8 experienced men ready to make a clean sweep to halls. But first, you must disclose any promise A-net said about this game depending solely on your skills. This is Build Wars, not Guild Wars. Cheap and mediocre formations come first, not your 10 years of video-game playing to the point of perfected nimble reflexes. After sharing your ingenious strategy to the group, its time to battle. First opponent, IWAY. Dont worry, these are only deer flashing newbs who use someone elses build and dont understand why it actually wins. Use your original build to the max. Use every quick instinct you have in you to defeat them. But 60 seconds later, your dead? What? How did they do that? This doesnt make sense, I thought my expertise on Build Wars would wtfpwn these noobs. So lets warp back home. Should we try again? Sure, just spend another hour trying to find 4 more men to replace the ones that mysteriously dropped, then you can keep trying to your hearts desire...or until another drops, but no biggie. Just keep in mind, effort is crucial, because if you do happen to win halls, you get treasure beyond your imagination. Xtreme Godly Gold items for your uber PVE character so he can pwn even more brainless monsters. What else can you win? The mother of all, Celestial Sigils. These items allow you to buy your own guild hall to play even more Build Wars with guild members who are online once a week for 10 whole minutes. But not only do you get treasure for winning, you get fame. Do you have any idea how awesome fame is? If you win 10,000 times you too can have your personal yellow dragon that you can flash to show your amazing skill at Build Wars. Are you catching on? With more fame you get more opportunities to join even more uber groups to get even more fame! Do you realize what you can do with MORE fame?? Even STRONGER groups!! These groups dont just win 1/5 rounds, they win 1/4!!!! Do you have any idea how unbelievably awesome that is?!?!? No?! Im sorry, but I just cant explain the feeling because no english words have yet been created for such an emotion. If any one of these qualities please you, play this game. This is just not Guild Wars, this is Build Wars, the leading product in life wastement as of 12/7/05. I dont know about you, but my nervous twitch is acting up again without my daily dosage of Build Wars, so I must go right back to playing! See ya!

Family of GW Addicts

This is the first game that EVERYBODY in my house loves to play! From ages 5 to 46 every one of us enjoys this game (yep, we of the female variety play this game too). My BF is addicted (he has 4 accounts, I never see him but GW keeps him out of trouble), my 10 year old daughter plays (parental controls helps keep most of the potty mouth off of the screen)it has taught her to type. My 5 year old has a character to play in pre-searing and I am on my second account (4 characters is not nearly enough and I'm not sure that 8 will be either). Endless game play! "I finished the game" yeah, right! They are constantly adding new quests and there is always room for PvP.

The down side, with only 2 computers in the house capable of smoothly running GW we have to take turns...

Free is what you pay for.

Mind you this is my mom's account.

When I first saw this game on a store shelf I had to look again. It was that big sign that says "FREE online play". Yes this is an mmorpg yes it has good graphics yes it has all those things that make it great but there are some things that take away from this wonderful experience.

1. ABSOLUTELY no replyability. Once you beat the game with one character there is nothing to do PvE wise. Even replaying the game with another character is the same.

2.The cutscenes suck. Mouths dont move, dialogue is bad same old graphics as usual.

3.PvE and after a while PvP gets old. Same old monsters same old fighters same old attacks again and again the only thing that changes is your scenery.

The Pros have been covered already.

This game is just OK. It's a goood introduction into the world of MMORPGs Even though World of Warcraft isn't free it's worth the money. I would recommend WoW instead of this product anytime.

The graphics are wonderful like Elderscrolls Oblivion, but must have computer requirements to the box, it is free and you can chat online with others. It offers 4 character slots, even gives contests on their web site and holiday festivals like snowmen and grenchies, it is original and fun. Beautiful and challanging, and you ressurect but will get killed, it is a challange. They have really done well, I am going to go play it now and I suggest you get the book for the maps and quests too.

Got this for my 12 year old son per his request at Amazon (best price). My 2 older sons like it so much that they bought another copy (to get another character and play at the same time). They are currently spending too much time playing Guild Wars, so it must be good. I see that my middle son is listed as the reviewer (Beatlemaniac), but this is actually Mom talking.

This game is awesome!!!! It's got great graphics and a great storyline. It has good interaction with other players and is versatile in that you can explore and level on your own or in a group. You can join a guild and play guild vs. guild action fighting other guilds in competition. Or, you can do player vs. player and compete. There are several classes to choose from and differnt abilities for each. Furthermore, it has the option of choose a primary class/profession and a secondary class/profession so that you can combine skills for 2 classes. Of course, as with any online game there's always the annoying buying and selling going on. But it's easy to ignore and play. Furthermore, when you buy the game, you guy the right to play online -- SUBSCRIPTION FREE!!!! It's a great game and I'm totally addicted. Well worth the money I spent on it. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wanted a role playing multi player game.

RPG to new high

Well, Guild wars brings RPG to new heights. First lets say with all the choices out there this game is FREE to play. Thats right no montly fee, just buy the game, registar and away you go.

The game itself is nice looking and the sound is appropriate for the the game. The play is for the most part very intuitive and easy to play. Its all about skill sets and your the choice you make before going into battle.

This game has two elements PVP and PVE, you pretty well have to do the PVE part to unlock the skills for PVP. You can jump right into the PVP part of the game but with only the skill that come by default. SO the game is designed to lead you through various PVE elements and quests to unlock skills and equipment upgrades.

I don't think I will be giving up World of Warcraft quite yet. but Guild wars may make a deversion now and again.
