HALO? Oh Yeah!

First off, no, I'm not playing an advance copy of the PC conversion of this magnificent game. I've had to settle for the Xbox version with the dual analog sticks, but from what I've seen so far, this game is going to rock like the Andes when it comes to its rightful home.

For those of you who don't know what this game is about -- seriously, where have you been? -- I'll nutshell it for you.

You play as the Master Chief, a new SPARTAN-II cyborg soldier being used by Earth in its war against a myriad of alien races collectively known as the Covenant. Earth is on the losing side, having just lost its major military outpost on Reach, where all the other SPARTANs were wiped out except for the Master Chief. Your ship, the Pillar of Autumn, is attacked by the Covenant fleet as it retreats toward Earth. As the ship crash-lands on a mysterious ring-shaped planet, you have to rally the remaining Marines into fighting the Covenant, and to try to solve the bizarre technology of the artifact ... only to learn that there's something worse than the Covenant here ...

This game is a blast to play. Unlike every other First-Person Shooter, you can only carry a maximum of two weapons and eight grenades, which makes firefights even more tense, and forces you to choose more carefully which weapons you'll take with you.

And then there's the vehicles. So far, I've only used two Marine vehicles, the Scorpion battle tank and the Warthog assault jeep, and one Covenant vehicle, the Ghost hoverbike. But what I've seen so far is incredible. With the Marine vehicles, you can choose either to drive them, with other Marines backing you up, or you can get in the gunner's seat and enjoy some unlimited firepower.

The Covenant is one of the most varied bunches of baddies I've ever seen in a game. They range from "Uh-oh" to "Oh MAN!" to "What are these, Jawas with guns?" Believe me, if you've played it, you'll know what I mean.

So what gives me the right to review this game in the first place? Because I'm sitting here raving over a console game, which is something I NEVER do. I'm a hardcore PC junkie through and through. I also know that Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City are so much better on PC, so based on that, I know this game is going to be dominating my life for at least a few months when it arrives.

Man, September can't come fast enough for me.

Halo is quite possibly one of the best games ever!!!

A year or so ago I was introduced to the Xbox and one of the games I got was Halo. At the time I didn't know much about it and I certainly didin't know how to play it but after 1 day of playing I LOVED THIS GAME!! First of all the graphics are surburb! Very realistic environements with basically no limits unlike a lot of games that will cut you off if your going in the wrong direction. Halo leaves you lots of room to explore. The weapons were also nice especially the pistol and the shotgun, many of them with nice scopes and add-ons.

As you will find out vehicles are crucial for the game. From the famous warthog to the tank or the banshee you will have fun finding the best vehicle suited for the situations your in. The vehicles preform well too and are very good for attacking all fronts.

The alien enemies (Grunts, Elites, Hunters, Jackals, and the members of the flood) are tough and You will always have your finger on the trigger and pumping lead into the nearest alien. If you have the volume up you can sometimes hear the grunts (The little weak guys) say hilarious things.

And that's just the game! MULTIPLAYER ROCKS!

If you have a friend you can go head to head or cooperative and play CTF, reverse tag, king of the hill, and lots more classic games with a twist. Basically you get to run around on special only-multiplayer levels to try and be the last team or man standing. Great fun!! Prob one of the best features of the game!!!

Overall I rate Halo 5/5 because it's just plain sooo fun and that's enough said. It's worth every penny and it will keep you glued to the screen. Probably one of the best Xbox games out there and maybe one of the best games in history.

possibly the most overrated game in history

its hard to explain the reasons behind the sucess of halo, primarily because as a game its flawed in so many ways as to make it not worth your time. i wont even try to begin to guess why its so popular. instead, it might be best just to list pros and cons to the game and come to an unfortunate, but ultimately obvious, conclusion.

the game plays as a standard first person shooter, and the feel of the game as a shooter is solid enough. but this is about where it ends. the weapons are very unimaginative, you just get a basic line up for the human set of weapons, and the aliens weapons, which you can pick up from defeated enemies, are all quite similar to each other and the humans line up, with the exception of the homing style gun.

the enemies are equally plain, with there being a total of about 6 enemies at the most, with the two small style of enemies differing purely by one holding a shield, and the 'flood' are all just basic lumps of flesh that obviously required a lot of design effort.

and the levels, i really cant think of another description other than pathetic to describe the level design. once you reach the alien planet, you might think that the linear, boring level design from the ship was behind you. but its no more than a few levels of being down on the planet (which for the best part are at least slightly interesting) until you spend the majority of the rest of the game indoors, which is where the level designers just spend their time pasting in the first room that you entered over and over again. there is a bridge section, a corridoor section, and a octagonal room section, all of which you will see over and over again until the end. and the less said about the library levels the better.

and the much praised AI makes me seriously think that a lot of the fanbase around the world must be planted microsoft employees, because the AI on the hardest level purely means that their rate of fire is phenomenal, and their movement is quite fast. 'intelligence' really doesnt come into it. ive watched enemies squat behind corners in clear view until i planted a plasma grenade on them, and sat in a position just outside the enemies AI range, but still in clear view, repeatedly shooting them until they died while they just kept strafing left and right between obstacles, not firing back.

all this combines to make the game quite a struggle to play thru, and it ended up feeling more like work than anything else to get to the end. the only enjoyment to be found in the game is playing with the vehicles, which is where all the design effort seems to have gone into. the warthog is a lot of fun to play with, and you can see how multiplayer games would benifit from these types of toys to play with, and they do. and obviously the game AI isnt relevant when relating to multiplayer, and the weapons arent as disappointing when you are beating friends up with them.

if you are buying the game purely for multiplayer, you wont be disappointed as most of the negatives i have raised wont be an issue, and the game has more than enough of the standard multiplayer modes to keep you entertained.

but unfortunately, the game has so much hype and, lets face it, fanboy following that its almost impossible to suggest that you dont at least try it (or play it up until the 'library' level, and then purely play multiplayer). if you want a FPS game for some multiplayer fun with mates, then definitely give it a go, but if you are after a satifying single player experince, give this one a miss if you can stand to be one of the only people who has never played it.

Good game, challenging and inventive

Technology:
+ good graphics, still doesn't look too bad compared to recent games
+ some beautiful animations
+ reasonably good artificial intelligence
+ some sweeping music scores
- sound effects aren't too bad but they all pretty much sound the same

Campaign:
+ A relatively cohesive story
- Its mostly lonewolf
- The level design is BAD. This is what ruined the single player for me. Large outdoor environments make the first few levels fun but monotonous hallways and identical rooms after rooms make some levels confusing and repetitive. There are levels like "The Library" where you go through the exact same linear design four or five times.

Design:
+nice weapon functions and balance
+very good integration of a variety of vehicles
+the health system takes a little to get used to- i prefer it over the conventional health bar as it doesn't completely handicap you after some damage
+don't really mind the no cheats thing, the game is more fun as it gets harder

Multiplayer:
it really depends as in any fps- you could either have an excellent game or one with lag, team-killers, and unbalanced teams

Awesome game

Overall I'd say that this game was very satisfying. I'm not really a hardcore gamer, and I was just really bored one day and I decided to buy a computer game, and Halo was the only one that would work with my Dell laptop, so I got it.
The thing that pleased me the most about this game was how well it worked for me. I'm not an experienced first person shooter player, but I was actually able to beat the game (which I did less than half an hour ago). That, and I could have the graphics turned up all the way in the game most of the time despite the fact that the stats on my computer are less than perfect. So this game is definitely worth getting if you aren't that experienced with these types of games and if you're computer is kind've old or weak.
The game had less weapons in it, which is good because in other games like Unreal there's just way too many weapons and it makes you unsure which ones to use. In this one, you know exactly which ones to use and they're fun. You have a shotgun, a machine gun, a handgun and a rocket launcher. You also have a few alien weapons, which makes it even more fun, but I didn't use those that often. You can also operate human and alien land and air based vehicles, which is unreal because I've never experienced something like that in a game before. You can use tanks, ATVs, alien vehicles that hover just above the ground and ones that fly all over the place. You also have grenades, which were loads of fun. Some that stick to enemies and other, human grenades that we already know about.
The game had some flaws, however. The AI was a little redundant, not much better than Unreal. Actually, exactly the same. The "elites" would shoot at you, move to the side and duck, or dive and roll to the side and you'd either have to run up to them and shoot them or play I shoot you and you shoot me and we wait several hours until one of us dies. The grunts were kind've fun, but there were so easy to kill it seemed like a waste of ammo to take them out, but you had to. The hunters were extremely hard to kill, and I was a little irritated by their presence at times.
I found the plot to be great and made perfect sense. There's no pointless, boring cinematics like there are in other games. Each "cinematic" is short and to the point and conveys a vital part of the plot to the player. I wasn't bored or anything and actually found them fun to watch.
I'm actually more into the "darker" first person shooters, such as Painkiller, Doom, and Hexen (older game). At first I didn't like the idea of playing a science fiction game, but I found that I would always be anticipating going home after work so I could sit down on the computer and play Halo for an hour or two.
Lots of fun and worth buying.

THEORY: OVER RATED.

Naturally, you've heard about the hype surrounding Halo - isn't that why we all bought it for the pc; it was known to "blow your sh** away?" Well, I'd like some honest feedback - did you, the pc gamer, REALLY enjoy this game? Everyone seems to on the xbox, so there must be something I missed - honestly, playing this game for the first ever (on the pc) was excruciatingly boring. Everyone who owned an xbox told me it was the best game ever - surpassing everything they have ever played. After playing about three-fourths this game, I've come to the conclusion that they've only tampered with the xbox. The gameplay is fun, and the b-story is interesting, but seriously - did any of you notice in your endless frantic shooting fest that the level design was poorer than most of the ameteur counterstrike creators could have ever comtemplated? The level design is so bland, so desolate, so repititious, so devoid of all creativity: I could not enjoy this game AT ALL - in fact, I found my self trying to run through the dead maze but to no avail. It has the feel of entering a 20 story skyscraper, and entering each story, one after another, to discover that all the stories have the same layout. The outside levels were a breath of fresh air - quite literally - but they were few and far between. And the gameplay started to lose appeal when the ammo got exceedingly short, despite the fact there were millions of enemies. Lastly, the best parts of the game with the soldiers fighting by your side, were also the parts of the game the experienced the most slowdown and juppiness. I prefer games like half-life and deus ex with a real story, real level design, and interesting gameplay elements. Perhaps this game is just the wave of the future with endless enemies coming at you from all sides with no story or emphasis on design, either way when this game ends up on top 10 game lists - you have me worried....

HELPFUL - Agreed, not the best of games.....
UNHELPFUL - One of the best games ever, you idiot!

I'm not saying this is a bad game by any means-just look at the rave reviews it got. However, gearbox (the developer) did a poor job bring this over to the pc. Ignore the game requirements, this game only runs on some systems well. I have 2 computers in my possesion, a 3.06 with a 9700 pro and a 2.8 (laptop) with a geforcefx mobile- it runs amazing on my desktop, but it barely runs at all on the laptop. How such a small difference in system specs (on systems very capable accordign to the minimum specs) can there be such a drastic performance drop? I'm not sure myself, if you have a chance I'd suggest downloading the demo availible for it and see how it runs on your system before putting your hard earned money in a game that has a 50% chance of running.

Well here it is, Halo where it was originally supposed to launch;PC. Microsoft bought Bungie,(the developers) so the PC version was cancelled. A lot of people wanted online multiplayer for Halo, so Bungie let Gearbox make a PC port. The campaign is exactly the same as the Xbox version, but multiplayer is the good part.

So Master Chief is on a warship called the "Pillar of Autumn", escaping the destruction of Reach. The Covenant (aliens) follow that ship and then they find a mysterious ring-world called "Halo".The humans abandon ship and crash-land on Halo.

I'm not going to go much further into the plot. (I don't want to spoil it for you, it's actually kind of good)

You get a assortment of weapons ranging from the standard Assault Rife, to the overpowered Pistol, to the Covenant plasma pistol. The controls here are just the same as about any other PC shooter.
There's one thing that stands out in the gameplay a lot, apart from the vechicles you can drive; You can only hold two weapons at once. I think that this adds realism to the game. I remember playing Medal of Honor games and the main character can hold a shotgun, a rocket launcher, pistol, sniper, and a machine gun all at once. Unrealistic!

I really like the multiplayer except for two things; One is the laggyness. Do not try to play online unless you have a good cable connection and you are playing with only people with cable. Dial up sucks really bad for this game.
Second, is the enormous amount of losers online. They kill their teammates and scream four letter words at people for no reason. But still, there are a lot of nice people too. I just wish there was some way to kick people out of your game.

You can play games online like:

Slayer: Free for all
Team Slayer: Same as above only with teams
Oddball: Hold the ball for a certain amount of time to win
Race: Hop in a vechicle and race around maps

There are a ton of other games, these are just the most commonly played.

There is another problem with this game. You will need a VERY good computer to run it at maximum settings. My laptop far exceeds the minimum system requirements, but the game runs really slow and has horrible graphics. (I guess this is why I am making a gaming PC...)
Gearbox really should have worked on optimizing this game more. The game kind of feels like it was rushed.

PROS:
+Lots of action
+Good storyline
+Vechicles to drive!
+Two-weapon feature adds realism and makes you think about weapon choice
+Pretty good graphics (if you have a good gaming PC)
+Game runs at 60 frames per second unlike the Xbox's 30 (but you need a good computer)

CONS:
-Some maps are reused a lot in campaign
-Need a good computer to run
-Losers on the internet
-Laggy online play
-Can get repetetive at times (especially the "Library" level)

And if you are concerned about violence or blood, don't worry. Halo was originally going to be rated Teen, before the 9/11 attacks. (The ratings were bumped up then)
If you don't want to see blood or gore, then just go to the game options and turn off the "Particle effects" and the "Decals".If you turn off the blood and gore, the game is equivalent to a Teen-rated game.

Overall, despite some technical problems and losers online, Halo PC is a game that all PC gamers should get.

Halo is one of the rare games with talent and skill!

If you are looking for a game with good graphics, a FPS (First-Person-Shooter) that is easy, with a rare decals option (turning off blood), great multiplayer, excellent storylines, or you just want to get this game for fun or a gift, then Halo is the answer. Halo features a great storyline, super graphics, interesting vehicles, great multiplayer maps including 6 NEW MAPS, TWO NEW weapons, ALSO the ALL NEW Rocket Warthog (a jeep that has a rocket laucher, its cousin has a machine gun.). The Covenant (enemy aliens) Banshee is ALL NEW to MULTIPLAYER! However, it isn't really new to the campaign though. Orignally it was going to be for the Xbox, as soon as the Xbox was released, Halo for the Xbox was here! Halo sold more than 2 million copies than most of their competitors (like the GTA series). Some people say that Halo and GTA are both the same, but think for a minute. Halo is sci-fi while GTA features gangsters, big profanies, sex, and more disgusting content.

You play a Spartan (A.K.A super soldiers), the ONLY one out there. This Spartan is called by his rank the Master Chief (even though his real name is John, it's more common calling him Master Chief. Anyway, you awoke from slumber because the ship your in is under attack by Covenant forces. The Pillar of Autumn as it is called had to be abandoned. Captain Keyes, a rather grandfather-like person, orders you to get Cortana, an A.I off the ship. You do, but then you crash land on a mysterious ring-world called Halo. You must make the Covenant armada retreat from Halo before they capture it and destroy all life in the galaxy. If the Covenant got their hands on Cortana, they'll learn about humans, and Earth! So now you start to fight the enemy from sniping them, to shotguns. But, all that has to stop when a deadly infection called the Flood (the name is based on Noah's Ark). You must destroy Halo before it is too late!! Sounds hard huh?

Now for the vehicles, weapons, and the Mutliplayer: Want to show off your skills in front of other people? Then now is the chance to get cable, a game controller, and get ready for these games to play online!

Slayer=A Free For All match. Only one rule, destroy other players to win.

Team Slayer=Defeat other players in a Red Vs. Blue match. Join a team, and take on other teams.

Oddball="Take me out to the ball game"! In Oddball, you must hold the skull for two minutes. It is best to avoid as much players as possible.

Team Oddball= A team version of Oddball. You know the rules.

Race= Pretty strange for a FPS to have a race match, eh? Well, for all you driving junkies, this is the match for you! Complete all the laps FIRST and you will win! What will embarrass your teammates is when you completed a lap and on their computers it will say "_____ completed a lap" or something like that.

Team Race= All your teammates must finish the laps to win.

King of the Hill= Stand on the circled area for 2 minutes! But watch out for players throwing grenades at you and shooting their weapons at you!

Team King of the Hill= A teamed version of King of the Hill. All of your teammates must stay on the hill for 2 minutes.

Crazy King= Sounds easy? Well in Crazy King, you must stay on the hill for two minutes. But the hill will move from one place to another.

CTF (Capture the Flag)= Capture a flag from the Blue team (If you were red) and return it to your own base.

Assault= Capture the flag only that for example: Red will try to capture the flag while the blue tries to defend it. But in two minutes it will be the blues turn to attack.

Those are all the games you can play. But you can edit your own gametypes and share them with others.

Vehicles: Can't play on most Halo maps without a vehicle, here is a guide about vehicles and how you should use them.

Scorpian Tank: A very powerful tank that has a machine gun and a powerful rocket. In team games, you should be careful about enemy tanks as well as infantry and other vehicles. The player in the tank can be sniped or rocketed. If you come face-to-face with a tank or you are going to attack it, read this: If you have plasma grenades, you should use them! Plasma grenades will work a bit more than frag grenades. And be very sneaky, because if you are noticed and they fire a rocket at you, you will be found flying in the air. Oh, and rockets work very well against them. One shot will kill or injure severely the player. Also you can ride on tanks, but it should be only used for transportation.

Ghost: a Covenant speeder. It is very good because it isn't just Maneuverable, it is also good against infantry. It should be used to capture flags since they are very fast. And a group of ghosts can overwhelm one tank. However, you must becarful of fighting enemy ghosts, they can get stuck over objects and you could get shot by the enemy. Also the pilot is unprotected.

Banshee: It is a hovering, screaming, machine that is good against warthogs and infantry. It is also useful against tanks, you just have to be careful of their fire on you. The banshee is a perfect vehicle just to make your enemies complain about you. Although, rockets, machine gun warthogs, and stationary guns are weak to them, be careful when you attack them. Each banshee is equipted with plasma cannons and a fuel rod that reloads. The banshee should be used as a dive bomber. Think of World War II, and U.S.A's Dive Bombers: Dive bombers are supposed to aim downwards to their targets. First they must have the nose down, then the release the bombs, and then get out before they crash. Think of the same way with banshees: except it is alright to crash them, they won't break.

Warthogs: A three-passanger jeep, the driver has a weapon: the jeep itself! Sliding over opponents works. Just look out for when they throw grenades at you. It can lift the jeep topsy-turvy, and will kill or injure your teammates! Plasma grenades can stick to any part of the hog, except for the windshields, it will lift them away! :P The machine gun Warthog is good against ghosts, banshees, other hogs (rocket ones mostly), but not tanks. They seriously work against infantry as well, unless they have a heavy weapon!

The Rocket Hog works mostly with tanks. Infantry might have a chance to get out of the way of the rocket, but they will get run over by the driver. And if they use up three shots, then it must reload and it'll make the jeep a sitting duck.

The Passanger seat isn't recommended, you don't get a good line of fire, and it should be only used for transportation. Becarful when it comes to going on the gunner seats, if the jeep isn't moving, it will be vulnerable to snipers and other heavy weapons. For some reason, it sometimes works against banshees.

Plasma Stationary gun turrets: It should be only used for taking out warthogs and banshees, not infantry. The turrets don't move and they are weak to snipers and plasma grenades as well as frag grenades.

Now for the weapons, after that, power-ups, and finally, the maps! Weapons are what Halo is all about! Even the heavy weapons.

Human weapons are very powerful tools against enemies. Read them to learn about them.

Pistol: It sounds stupid, but it isn't. It is perfect against shields and even health lines. Aim for the head: I am still trying to figure it out but hopefully, I'll find out. The pistol has a 2x zoom, but it may take a while to use. Move sideways if you are trying to make headshots against players. It will be seconds before an enemy with full health moniters suddenly gets killed by one pistol. It's weakness is the melee, it should only be used when clubbing enemies in the back.

Assault Rifle: It is rather one of the the weak weapons so stay away from it unless you really need it. If you ran out of ammo for pistols and you need a gun, pick up the AR. It will be usefull for when taking the health lines down. With the pistol and AR, they make a serious combo, but not as strong as with a shotgun.

Shotgun: Seriously useful for indoor action. Not really useful outside since it shoots short range. But, it can remove shields easily and then switch to the pistol to kick some butt. Or you can do the Opposite. The melee is medium speed, but it is faster than the pistols' melee attack.

Sniper: A weapon of choice! It has two zooms and should be used when starting an assault on the enemy. The first zoom is 2x, the second zoom is 8x and if you press Z for the third time, the scope will be gone from the screen. Instead of trying to track enemies, keep the contrail where you THINK the opponent might be on, and then try to aim for the body instead for the head (unless he stands still >:D). A sniper, a pistol, and a shotgun are deadly combos! The melee is slow, but is about the same to a shotgun

Rocket Launcher: Oh baby! This monster can make in impact on vehicles and infantry. Aim for the feet and jump a lot to get an angle. The Rocket Launcher can kill anyone, even with a super shield power-up on! Of Course, you should use them against tanks, the tanks are slugs when it comes to movement so a well-aimed rocket should be enough trouble for them. The rocket launcher and a piston is a intense combo indeed! The melee stinks and is seriously slow.

Flamethrower: One of the new weapons for Halo PC. It is a very short range weapon and should only be used when the map is a small indoor game. Even if you get killed, the flames can burn and kill an opponent! The melee is slow but not as slow as the rocket launcher.

Now for the Covenant weapons, you should use the needler and fuel rod guns the most of all of them!

Plasma Pistol: It is very good because the melee isn't just super fast, it also when it is charged can bring down shields of the player. The AR and the Plasma Pistol is a bring-shields-down combo.

Plasma Rifle: Impressive. Reminds me of those fancy guns in "Galaxy Quest". Now sometimes these buggers are useful, sometimes not. They should be used to bring down shields. Be careful of overheating as it is common if you hold down that trigger. The melee is fast and can bash an opponent either in the back, or the head. One way to knock some sense in them.

Needler: A choice weapon! The melee shouldn't be used, but the weapon itself is great because if you aim at the player and hold down the trigger, purple needles will follow the enemy and when it explodes, it isn't very pretty. It can even kill opponents sometimes. It is short ranged. It is more of a stealth weapon so use it as a sneaky fox way.

Fuel Rod Gun: One of the new weapons of Halo PC. It is more of a Covenant Rocket Launcher. When fired, green bolts will come out, if you see one, pick it up and use it. Many experts know how to handle them. The weapon does overheat, if you see an opponent close range, press that trigger hard! It might hurt him or kill him. He will of course, hate you for that. The melee is very slow.

The power-ups are coming up next!

Active Cameo: It is very sneaky and it is also hard to spot as well. A snipe might notice anyone who has it on though. It wares off though and just as you push that trigger, you would have already been seen. This power-up serves well with heavy weapons.

Health kits: You know what they do!

Super Shields: You don't turn invisible, but you do have a %400 shield bonus! So it will make it hard to kill anyone who has it. But the plasma pistol can bring it down so don't skip that message.

Curious about the maps? Then read this to learn about them.

Blood Gulch: A very popular map. With an outdoor terrain and a desert-like quality, this map is useful with Race, Slayer, Team Slayer, and CTF. Blood Gulch also has two bases: A red and blue bases: Mostly used for CTF. This map has a sniper spot for both blue and red team bases. One of them is a hill, the other only a banshee can reach. The bases each has a teleporter, when used you can pick up a rocket launcher or a fuel rod gun. Just be careful of warthogs.

Sidewinder: A slippery and cold map. A perfect choice for race games, Oddball, Slayer, and CTF. The main thing is that in Race, there is a lap that is on a very narrow hill. It is very hard to get on it and your best chances is that you'll fall off. What is also great is that this one part after the teleporting you will go across a very short tunnel that has TWO pistols ready to be picken up and used!

Damnation: An indoor map that has should be used for oddball, slayer, but not CTF as it will make a short match. If you do set it up for CTF, you must be careful of falling off the dam as it is seriously narrow. This map isn't too popular.

Battle Creek: A small outdoor map, making it perfect for slayer, KoTh, Oddball, and CTF, including assault. In the middle of the two bases there is a river, and if you go up two ladders be sneaky and snipe those players off their feet and on the dust! There are also two needlers per base.

Longest: Very small actually. Makes a good CTF match though. As well as slayer. In this map you must make a long walk down a narrow hall to get the flag, or just hiding. Rocket Launcher games makes it very bloody (unless you turn off the blood).

Death Island: One of the new maps only for Halo PC. Based on the Silent Cartographer map, this map is mostly a vehicle war. Tanks, Hogs, Ghosts, Banshees, turrets makes it real time war almost. But tank users, be careful of snipers though. In this map, each base has two teleporters: one leading to a banshee, and the other to a plasma turret. You can tell which one is which because of the markings showing which vehicle should you choose. It is rather large though.

Chill Out: Haven't played that map as much.

Timberland: A new Halo map only for the PC. It is rather kind of like the second level in the campaign. A rather forest-like place. Still, those bases can be seen by the snipers so be careful. Also the ghosts can be used.

Infinity: Very scary.... Very new to the Halo PC. Very good for CTF matches. It is rather big and the teleports takes you to a very high place. Rockets are there so pick them up and stay where you are! You don't want enemies getting your rockets do you? Also it is good when you are sneaking up on banshees. This one banshee was flying and it saw me. It was firing blue plasma circles at me. But a well-aimed rocket stopped those weapons firing!

Danger Canyon: Don't look down this new map only on the PC. This map is good for CTF matches. The tunnels in each base has a sniper, and in the middle lies a needler, a plasma pistol, a health kit, a plasma rifle, but what is aimed at the most is the fuel rod cannon! Pick it up and use it as you enter the enemy base. Also if you cross 1 of 2 bridges, there is a teleporter with the same weapons at the bottom. Also near the teleporter there are rocks with a sniper behind them. It makes a good sniping area. I sniped an enemy with a fuel rod a couple of times and they didn't even notcie me :D! Although if you are spotted then you could be doomed, even with tanks at the bottom. And in front of the teleporter there is a super shields kit.

Rat Race: Not much of a race to me. It should be used with rockets on a Slayer, Oddball, CTF matches only.

Derect: Too small for my liking.

Spartain training Facillity: Name isn't right and it isn't that great. Too many teleports and was wasted. Too narrow.

Ice Fields: A new slippery Halo PC map. It is rather narrow and it takes guts to cross the bridge in the game. Although it is fun crossing under the ice tunnel though. Ghosts and warthogs roam there as well.

Prisoner: Not much of a good map.

I will put more maps later on. But for now here is the punchline: Because of some of the Players online. They sometimes team kill their own teammates for fun while cursing 4 letter words. Not always though. I recommend this game to anyone looking for some action.

o yeah

OMG This game rocks. not only does it trump the Xbox version in almost every way (except for the lack of Co-op mp), you get free online play! u also get extra maps and new weapons and vehicles! Some people say the game runs laggy in SP and MP. While this is true, it is not unsolvable. People who have a prob with this are lazy fools who probably dont even know that Google even EXISTS!!! UR NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROB!!! Other people know about it and so does Microsoft. Google it and ul find something helpful!!!! Anyways, anyone who wants a fun, realistic, shooter should buy this game! it's cheap and FUN!
(and regarding the white trail coming from the sniper rifle, it's called realism and isn't stupid!)
