I bought this game for my 3 year old for Christmas and he loves it. He did really well until the final levels to get to Clockwerk and then he needed mommy to step in a help him out some. We still haven't finished the master thief sprints but we have finished the rest of the game. It was a blast and worth every penny

As a huge fan of first person shooters i found this an excellent game for a refreshing change of pace. Any fan of platform adventure games should enjoy this one. Very pretty graphics fast paced and humorous. If you enjoy the likes of Crash Bandicoot your sure to love this one.

Nice Game, but Way Too Short

This is a very, very good game, but it's way too short. For me, a long enough game keeps me going for a week at the very least (I don't get through games very quickly) but I finished this one in about four days. Nevertheless, it's extremely crisp and fun with the most beautiful graphics I've seen so far in a game, if not the most realistic ones. You play as cool, calm, and clever Sly Cooper, the world's greatest thief as you try to win back the Thievius Racoonus - a legendary book that has been passed down the Cooper line for generations - from the evil Fiendish Five. To do this, you use all manner of cool thieving techniques. You maneuver your way through security beams, avoid spoltlights, strike from above, and way more. Jam packed with mini-games and different types of gameplay, this is not one to miss. I like the way all of the characters are portrayed by animals, but not in a goofy way. They look really cool, and the way they move really reminds you of the way that particular animal moves, even though their appearances are changed to make them look more human. The animals represent the personalities of their characters. Light and speedy Sly is a raccoon, big and clumsy Murray is a hippo, and the evil and ingenious Clockwerk is an owl. One of my favorite things about this game is that you get to travel all over the world, to real places. The countries you visit are France, Wales, the United States, Haiti, China, and Russia. Like I said before, the game is too short and it ends somewhat abruptly, but I've heard that "Sly 2: Band of Thieves" is a lot better. I'm planning on getting that one soon. I reccomend this one from fans of the "Jak and Daxter" series.
LONG LIVE SLY COOPER!

Phenominal Game

This is one of the best games ever to grace the PS2.It's graphics were beautiful, its gameplay was very fun although at some points it could get complicated and the one hit deaths were annoying at moments, but that added to the fun by requiring you to go in more stealthily(which is what this game was about)instead of charging right in to the action.Overall, this game was great, and if you liked it,then you should definetly go buy Sly 2 and Sly 3,which are also superb games.

Good for a platformer.

In my opinion, Sly Cooper is the best platform next to Mario but don't get too excited because it's still a platform. Sly Cooper looks great and makes good use of the cel shaded graphics. That's probably the best part of the game. The game can be more looked at as a platform on a rail or a combination of 2D and 3D. If you have played Crash Bandicoot, you get the idea. In fact, Sly Cooper probably uses an upgraded version of the crash Bandicoot engine. The gameplay has a lot of new additions but for anyone who has played Crash Bandicoot the gameplay will seem very familiar at some points.

The game has five different worlds, each is introduced as an entirely 3D environment, but that's just deceiving. Your real goal is to find the doors in which you will enter a mission and be forced to complete a linear 2D/3D railed obstacle course. It's a little more creative than Crash Bandicoot where you literally where in a portal room and each of the missions had a door with a label on it. The Objective of each world is to gather all the keys that lay in that world. You collect the keys by passing the linear obstacle courses obviously. Once you have collected all the keys of that world, you can now use them to gain access to the boss of that world. Then you beat the boss and move on the next world. Think Crash Bandicoot again, only you actually see yourself inside of a van, and you see your progress on a map in a cartoon like cut scene, this indicates your in the process of traveling to the new world. In Crash Bandicoot, the portal room just moved up to a new floor with all new missions again.

The game has awesome graphics, and very good dialog. The cut scenes are literally cartoon quality. At times, you will feel like your actually playing a cartoon. The game has a story line, it's a rather weak one, but I thought it was surprisenly mature. The story starts off by Sly Cooper giving you a history briefing about how his whole family was killed by some thugs the night his families jewel, "The Thievious Raccoonus" was stolen. Since then, he's been on a mission to get it back. I don't remember the last time anyone was killed in the story line of a Mario game.

SUPER GAME

If you like Crash and Spyro type games you will love this game. I got a hold of the demo(I work at Toys R Us)and I didn't want to take it back. All I can say is once you start you don't want to stop. The best part was, like Crash, you can pick the rooms YOU want and in what order.
One hint when playing hit all signs, extra coins!

It's awesome!

My original intention was not to get the first one, but only to get the second one. I decided to get the first one just for the hell of it and so I wouldn't miss any story line. I have to admit that I wasn't disappointed. After playing a couple of hours I was instantly hooked on it and I couldn't set the controller down for the next three days. There are a few parts in there that are a little ridiculus, but I don't want to go into detail for fear of ruining the game for those who haven't played it. You'll see what I mean when you play it. This game will seem very easy for those experienced gamers, but it is a great game for beginning gamers. I give it 4 stars!

One of the best platform games ever!

This game is incredible. It has a great amount of levels (more than 40), and inovation supreme. This is not the normal platformer. Instead of going to an area to chose your levels, that area is a level, with thieving oppurtunities and enemies alike. This game also does not contain only the normal run, attack, jump conventional style of platform game. It has a riduculous amount of minigames that are the levels themselve's, from racing a van to shooting crabs in a submarine. This is by far one of the best platform games ever, rivaling the big "M".
Also, the graphics are incredible. They're not like Final Fantasy X or Metal Gear Solid 2 which have next to life graphics, but use an interesting type of cel-shading. Overall, this is one of the best platform games ever and ranks high in the list of best games ever.

What a fun game

Sly Cooper is easy to control even though he has lots of moves. When he does his spin jump and lands on a small point he actually gets the job done. No jumping and crashing as in Mario Sunshine. Sly's cane is very handy as it wipes out bad guys and allows him to jump from airborne hooks. The graphics and locations are colorful and original in design. the music is pleasant and appropriate. The boss battles are challenging but not impossible. Kids and grownups alike can enjoy this game equally. The gameplay doesn't force you to start a huge segment over and over again if Sly buys the farm.
