one of the best RTS games to date

I am a big fan of the real-time strategies and an even bigger fan of the C&C series ever since I was introduced to it. Everything about this game is fantastic, from the controls, to the 3-D graphics and fully rotating screen, everything! I was a little disappointed with there only being 3 sides to choose from, however it was nice of EA to include the 3 variations for each side so as to increase the game's longevity and fun factor. That was really my only complaint with the game, but don't a limited number of sides to choose from deter you from this amazing game!

Generals and the expansion Zero Hour are the one-two punches of a winning combination in keeping with the C&C tradition of excellence. Great gameplay, new units and structures, a third team, and a general's competition make for one of the best RTS games ever.

This game is perhaps one of the most fun games ive ever played. There are 3 sides in this game, the GLA (global liberation army), China, and the united states. Each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You can play a 7 mission campaign for each side on normal, hard, or brutal. There is also a skirmish mode where you can choose your army and fight against whoever you want. With the addition of the expantion pack, there are now 15 more missions to play, and 3 new generals per side you can play as in skirmish mode, as well as in a generals challenge. Fire bases for the US, Helixes for the chinese, and other new units are added. The generals challenge is loads of fun, but as explained in other reviews too easy on easy mode. The great units in this game allow you to wage destruction. General kwais emperor overlords can be equiped with a gattling cannon with their healing tower, making them almost invincible. Use super weapons such as scud storms, particle cannons, and nukes to reek havoc. Get a general status upgrade, and purchase upgrades such as fuel air bombs, rebel ambushes, and paratroopers. Resource collection is simple, which lets you concentrate on the real action. The only real cons of this game are unit traffic jams, easy mode too easy, and the USA not coming with a standard anti-infantry unit. Besides those disadvantages, this game is loads of fun with hours upon hours of play time. With the original and expansion pack all at one low price, there are a whopping 36 missions and so much more to do. At this price, this game is a steal. If you haven't gotten this game yet, now is the time.

I bought this game for my husband, he has other commnad and conquer games, he really enjoys this one. He hasn't stopped playing it since I got the game for him. My husband says it is excellent, would recommend it to anyone that has ever played any command and conquer games, very challanging.

This is one of the best games of all time.

The problem is with the new patch for Zero Hour version 1.04. When playing with a full map (8 players, 7 of them AI), the game is very choppy, even with a new PC on the lowest settings. I have experienced this problem on my PC, a Athlon 64 3700+, 1GB RAM, NVidia 7600GT Graphics card, with Windows XP SP2.

The only solution is to use v1.03, but if you want online play, you must use the latest version 1.04.

Generals is the best strategy game for the online play. It's simple and popular = you won't have trouble finding a game partners.
Also it got a nice statistics tracking and rating system.
Single player is also just fine.
+ due to it's currently low price, it's every gamer MUST HAVE!:)

This is probably one of the best strategy games that I've ever played. Why 4 stars you ask? Well, I'm a huge fan of naval war far like in Red Alert and Red Alert 2 so I was bummed to be so landlocked. Having sea units would have diversified the game play a bit more compared to the usual formula of build base defenses and launch waves of tanks and artillery. My biggest grip however, is the AI of the actual units themselves. RA2 had way better AI in regards of how the units move on the battlefield when you give them orders. In Generals, tanks, humvees, artillery (you name it) have a tendency to line up single file when moving and it makes them so easy to wipe out. You can arrange units in a formation (which is a definite plus), but the units have a tendency to spin their wheels so to speak when orders are being issued to them. I've seen units also get hung up on map details like hills and bushes (Give me a break)! If you don't order your units to guard themselves when they are idle, an enemy GI could walk up right to them and plant a bomb on them! EA should have spent more time on the dynamics of unit control and how they think in the heat of battle. However, the computer has no problem however when controlling its own army of units :-). Aside, from AI bashing, the game is a blast to play and the harvesting is indeed a bit slow at times. Both the USA, GLA, and China have a great balance of strengths and weakness, which is a characteristic that makes the game shine. I used to think USA was by far the strongest side, but after being patient and trying out the other two sides they can manage to give the USA a run for their money! This is a game that shouldn't be missed and it is so much fun to play and it takes a few weeks to get actually good at cranking out good defenses and a strong army. Urban warfare is quiet entertaining since you can garrison buildings and each side has a unit which can wipe out those occupied buildings. If you like strategy games or are still sitting on the fence, wait no further! This is the game for you!

I was reluctant to purchase this game at first, however, then I heard very good things, and read excellent reviews. So, I decided to go under the knife and buy this product. I installed it on my computer perfectly, and played for hours. If you are the kind of person who likes bombing the enemy's base with Nuclear Bombs, and SCUD missiles, this game is for you! You can play online with up to 7 other people. You can choose from three teams - USA, China, and GLA (terrorists). All 3 are pretty equal in power and all equally fun to play as. I highly recommend this game! Just to clarify, this is NOT a game where you are a ground troop shooting up the enemy.

Command and Conquer returns with one of the best RTS games I've ever played. It breaks from the mold of a construction site to build all buildings and the side bar for any building or traning. The graphics are superb, although the infantry are a little blocky. The terrain looks real, you can see wind in the trees and dust getting kicked up by helicopters. The game is easy to play, you can get it down in and hour tops. Using construction units and training units directly out of buildings is a big improvement over the others of the series. The gameplay is slower paced than the others, allowing you to really build up a base before widespread fighting starts. The new airfields are amazing, allowing better control of the aircraft. My only real complaints are that there are no docks or naval units, except in one campaign which is great if a little short. Also, although the civilizations units are diverse, and the generals adds further differences, the lack of civilizations takes away from the game.

It is only the best

well, since my computer is outdated and i cant try some newer games, i had already played c&c generals ZH, and i knew it was the best game my computer can stand. it is action, plus strategy, plus fun, plus a lot. the network gameplay is so fun, and cool. it is better than playing counter strike in lan, more passion, and concentration is required. and the solo play is also one of the bests, although the computer hasn't that much intelligence, it wouldnt stoop sending you some troubles.

just too cool to describe well
