Lots of fun when playing against friends

The best way to play this game is to either play Multiplayer or to play skirmishes. That is not to say that the single player game isn't fun but I don't find it any near as much so.

The single player games is also filled with long videos that you can't skip over. You can push whatever you want over and over but you're stuck for minutes and then a new one starts with the next scenario.

When playing multiplayer or skirmishes you can play solo or as teams and play either against computer bots ranging from easy to hard or against the other people in the game. You have a choice of about 12 different armies in Zero Hour plus there are tons of mods available on the internet is you want to shake things up.

Totally Addicting

The game was bought for my teenage sons so they could link up on our pcs and play each other. They had so much fun doing it My husband and I had them teach us how to play and now we have all out family wars...but nobody gets hurt! LOL Its a great game..very time consuming but very fun. It really makes you use your brain too. Lots of strategies and very graphical.

The different sides in this game, (GlA, China, and the USA) are very distinct in a similar manner to that of Blizzard's Starcraft. This is not a traditional Red Alert 1 or 2 game in that it is very guided in how you need to play each mission. The online play is a bit interesting. If you have a slow connection, you will not see games that are at a much faster speed that you can support. In my case, i could only see a total of 5 or 6 games with no filters turned on. General's single player is fun, Zero Hour is more of the same. Overall, an ok game. The expansion is just more of the same however.

A lot of fun

This game is the best game discovered by mankind! I cannot believe how many negative things people have put on here! Sure, sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a ranger and a rocket launcher, but, who cares! it is very realistic!
(also, instead of 5 different resources, all you need to collect is money and nuclear power!)

Excellent Game. The graphics are very well done, and the gameplay balance is exceptional. These guys from EA really, knew what they were doing, making a military game so well done. This is surely one of the most addicting games I have ever played (2nd To World Of Warcraft) and one of the best games out there!

some flaws, but still a fantastic game!

Got hooked from the very first C&C game. This release has the best graphics so far. However, the units are limited compared to RA2, where you could have K9 units, and submarines. Of course, the price of good graphics is a lack in the play. I'm hoping the next version will bring the best of past versions and the graphics advancement.

GREAT GAME!

Me and my boys play each other online with a local network connection. We spend hours having fun together.

One of our favorite games. We bought a second copy to play over our wireless network. It is great to team up and play against the computer or have a duel match against each other. The adult, the 20 year old, and the 12 year old all love to play. It is a great game to play stand-alone but even more fun playing multiplayer.

The computer intelligence in the game is really good, and even though it's a tad old, it's a classic in our house.

Excellent. Buy it now. It is still a great game.

This is one of the best real time strategy (RTS) game ever. I have been playing this game for two years with my friend online, and we are still playing it. If you still didn't have this game, go and buy one.

Units are not so futuristic, so you can realize the power of the units. One spiderlike tank is not killing the entire army with one shot. So that is good. Huge variety of land units, air strikes, mines, intelligence units and etc. You can earn experience, after destroying enemy units and you can gain new points to earn new technologies. Unit and technology variety is great.

One of the best features in the game is resource management. One type of resource makes you to concentrate on strategy. If all resources in the map are collected, you can still make money by building alternative resource collecting units/buildings. If you like long games like I do, this is a great attribute. I remember playing Red Alert or Starcraft with my friends at LAN party. Every game was the same. We were attacking each other with super high technology for first 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we were attacking each other with stones and arrows, just because of resources were depleted on the map. Game makers should place this property to all new generation RTS's games (I hope Blizzard considers resource generation or alternative resource production in Starcraft 2).

Game is relatively old, so you can play with almost any system with no problem. Graphics are still good, and game is created on 3D basis. You can rotate or zoom the map. I have a three year old, cheap and on-board video carded laptop. Although these negative computer configuration, I play this game fluently and having great fun.

If you are looking for great RTS, this is one of them.
