These Graphics Are PHOTO QUALITY!

WOW!I could not believe my eyes when I first played this game!
The graphics are the best I have ever seen in my entire lifetime. You an get lots of different angles of the plane, so you can see what's going on around you. Fly around in midair doing stunts, like barrel rolls, loops, and flips, as enemy planes fire away at you, putting holes in the side of your plane. What makes it even more realistic is that if you're hit in the engine, or the front of the plane alot, you get an oil leak, and your plane sets on fire as you spin around to your doom!

best combat flight simulator for slower computers

Out of all the combat flight simulators I like this one the best for high graphics on a low end computer and ease of learning. If this is your situation you can't beat this combat flight simulator for the money.

Co-op missions in CFS II?

Actually, this is not a review of MS CFS2 program. I'm using this forum to solicit feedback from those who already own and play this game. In Combat Flight Simulator I, the multiplayer game allows only head-to-head competition. I wonder if this version, II, lets you team-up with other pilots and fly the game's missions together (agaist mission's targets instead of killing each other). Some games such as, "Comanche" helicopter of NovaLogic give you options of head-to-head fighting or a team (co-op) flying against mission tagets. I found it very exciting to fly in a squadron with my buddy pilots. We can cover each other from enemy threats, and we can divide the targets between each other. It's a real team spirit! And if your voice card is full-duplex and the processor is powerful enough, then you can load and use a voice-over-IP program (e.g. Roger Wilco) to talk (with headphones and microphone) to your squadron members while fighting againt the enemies. I hope that Microsoft has added or will add such a co-op option to its games.

An Oustanding Game, Overall.

Well, repeating what I just said would be redundent, so let's see what else I can say about this game. While as everyone says the system requirements are pretty steep, but I haven't had any real problems resulting directly from them. The graphics are this side of being just insane, the explosion and smoke effects are bad ace. The biggest problem is the way the story is told. The comic panels are just recycled and puked back out in a slightly different order. But the game play and all is great. The controls took me a while to get used to but other than that it ran fine. Sorry for the badly arranged review, but I think doing an outline is just a little much for a review. But back to the visuals the level of detail is great, being able to see the rivets in the plane is just... cool. The flight model was a little hard to get used to, but since I am not a hard-core sim player most others can get into it pretty easy as well. Buday budee budeep that's all folks.

Absolutely fun, realistic, great-looking, and worth every cent. The way scenery is so smoothly handled in this game sets the standard for all other flight simulators, both for military and civilian flight. This game takes your senses back to World War II, while at the same time having a modern, well-rounded and easy to use feel to it. I suggest a force feedback joystick, you'll love the kick of those big .50 caliber machine guns and the feedback as you pull serious G's to take on enemy fighters. Excellent product!

I aslo own Combalt Flight Simulator WWII Series which I enjoy, 5 Star. Simulator II is too animated, has too personal a story line. I buy a Flight simulator to fly. I was a pilot instructor in the 60's. The story line in the WWII Series provides information about the war and the planes which provides the interest and needed information. It would be very hard for me to say that Simulator 2 is as much fun and as interesting as WWII Series.

Carrier Combat- Where's my Dauntless?

This has got to be one of the greatest games I've played! The graphics and textures are just amazing! This game is about 3x as good as the old MCFS I also have. Giving your wingmates commands definitely improved the gameplay and its interesting to see how they do against the enemy. The only problem with the game is their is no other planes than fighters. I'd love to fly a Dauntless, or a Japanese Val, a Kate, or an Avenger torpedo bomber but unfortunately they didn't come with the game. Sure the combat realism is great, but it's hard to believe how bad your wingmates are at shooting down Zeros sometimes. I ended one campaign with about 126 kills while my top wingmate had a paltry 8 kills! You could probably use a few more commands for your friends and a better A.I. in this game but overall its a above average flight game. You should also make sure you have a nice, beefy, overpowerful PC and one heck of a graphics card. I suggest that if you are a serious gamer that you give this game a try.

I have the force feed back joystick that i bought just for this game! It is worth it but I would like to see a better story and maybe more realistic crashes.

Microsoft support and installing drivers was not that fun. Tossed after one day.
