This game Is so real I couldn't believe it, most games you shoot people a 100 times and they don't go down and you can get hit 500 times before you die but on this game 1 shot 1 kill thats why I liked it I have played alot of first person shooters but this is the best.

Allright Tom Clancey!

This tom clancey game is the best game that I have ever played. It takes place in 2007 and you are killing terrorists/counterterrorists. I have been playing this game every day since I bought it. I love it. It is definetly on my top list of best video games ever!

More focused on action....and there are more weapons!!!!!!!

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield for the PS2 follows the same action-focused gameplay of the first Playstation R6 games. For me, it was a graphically enhanced Covert Ops. The environments are much more in-dephth this time around, the AI is actually slightly challenging, now the squad sensibly follows you around, and on-the-spot tactics are the way to play rather than the pre-set waypoints from the earlier PC versions. Being able to call your tactics as you know you need them is extremely helpful. The big flaw with the waypoints was that you couldn't change them as they were occurring, and the methods of ordering around the squad was never very easy.

One feature that I really liked about this game was....DIFFERENT WEAPONS YAAAAY!!! There is an all new lineup of guns to choose from. You can finally use the AK47, grenade launchers, and a new lineup of machine pistols. In R6 Rogue Spear: Black Thorn for the PC, these weapons were only available for multiplayer.....big mistake. The new, better focus on action mixed with graphical, envirnomental, and AI interaction, both allies and enemies, has vastly improved the game on the Playstation platform. I think that this is finally a Playstation R6 game that actually beats R6 Covert Ops. I found that renting the game wasn't enough time to enjoy it, so this game might actually be a very good purchase...I'll find out later this week.

This is a pretty good game with pretty good levels, a competitive Al, and ok graphics. A lot of die hard Tom Clancey fans hate this game. I'm not one of them though but I have played my share of them Splinter Cell, etc.... It has a great virety of weapons but your teammates are kind of smart and dumb. They follow orders ok but they make stupid decisions when in combat. There is an extra level in here unlike the XBOX version. The levels are a little short but are very hard. You would have to repeat the levels over and over again which makes it a little boreing. It doesn't even have a thing where you can set the difficulty. It has a very nice multiplayer mode which makes the game very fun for 2 people. The online mode is so-so. Other then that the game plays fine and I never had any serious glithces. For $20.00 you should get this game if your into the shooting genre.

Huge Disapointment

Ubi Soft is at it again with it's third chapter in the tactical Squad shooter, base off of a Tom Clancy book, Rainbow Six.

After a botched operation the Rainbows are licking their wounds and wanting to get back into the action again to prove themselves worthy. There chance comes in the form of a massive crisis that involves OPEC, the US and the Saudi's. A string of terrorist attacks is crippling the oil industry and there is a hell of a lot of finger pointing. It's up to John Clark's Rainbow Team to figure out what is happing.

R63 takes the more traditional FPS format by only playing one person and seeing the weapon you are using, held in the character's right hand. But this game also has a few small, but damaging features.

No selective feature on the weapons, submachine guns and assault rifles are stuck on full auto/burst, making accuracy impossible.

Too many friggen guns to choose from! Normally that won't be such a bad thing, but I spent five to ten minutes thinking about which gun I want to use.

At most you have three men plus you, no other teams. Of the three men you control, you can't change their equipment.

Why is this game rated M? The only blood that I saw was in the open cinematic and it was just two quick shots, there isn't any more blood or gore in the game, also not even a bad word is utter.

Lets hope that Rainbow Six 4 will be better

Just plain bad!!

This game was simply frustrating at every turn. I never really got into the tom clancy games a lot and tried this as a first in many yrs on my ps2. The levels were just plain annoying, the level of difficulty as I remember was adjustable, and the enemy AI was generally quite good, the problem lies with your team mates, who will sometimes do the dumbest things ever. There is a level where you begin with only one team mate and must finish the mission without him being killed. I ended up spending 2 or 3 days working on this and atleast 10 hours time. Your teammate will simply run in front of gunmen, and I kept him at the very beginning of the level the whole time, but when I commanded him to re join me near the end , he would get killed, I couldnt complete the whole mission alone,as I was low on health. He only had to engage and kill 2 guys up a level of stairs and could not do it. Time after time, he would simply run in front of the enemies as they unloaded clips. I tried having him help me in another part of the level and he was continually running in front of a sniper! This was not the only time a problem like this that occured. Play this game and you will know what I mean! Ive heard splinter cell pandora tomorrow is very good, but avoid R6-3!

Cool Counter-Terrorism Game

This is a pretty sweet game, especially online. I love playing this game online, its fun as hell. Also the single player missions are good too, very intense. Overall a GREAT game that you shouldnt miss if your a fan of realistic shooting games.

I can't believe that RS: Lockdown was delayed, it looks great. I recently began playing this game again, because there's nothin' but crap coming out this summer. I don't think that this game is hard, you may just have to play it 3 or more times to get it. There are 15 missions where you either rescue hostages or defuse bombs, you also bug a penthouse, and snatch incriminating documents, all while shooting tangos with SMGs, ARs, LMGs, and sniper rifles. Also with grenades. On most missions you will have three other squadmates, you can order these men to cover, open and clear a room, open and frag or flashbang a room. There are some minor A.I problems especially in tight areas, like in the Import/Export mission just after the room where part 2 of the mission starts in the room w/ all the tangos, after killing them all you hide next to a window, where on the other side are bunch of tangos usually one of your squadmates will run out and stand in front of the window and get shot (you can only survive about four shots from an AR). Another A.I problem is when your team is covering a door, you stand back and open the door and you're shooting a tango, on the other side of the room is another tango, your dumbass squadmate runs out in front of you and you shoot him in the head.

Rainbow Six 3 ultimately frustrating.

I'm not new to the Rainbow Six games, and I'm not new to first person shooters. I loved the first person shooter missions. But about half way through there is a 'bug phone' mission where you have to place a device on the terrorists' phone. First of all, what terrorist hasn't switched to cell phones by 2003 (or whenever this was released)? Second, I spent hours on this and never could get by the guy watching TV. The idea of these games, not to beat a dead horse, is shooting and strategy. I don't want to sneak around like splinter cell (a much better game) when I have no options for climbing, knocking people out, etc. And I didn't feel the PS2 game gave me the necessary training to get me through this mission. Like, was I supposed to move less times, or move less distance? Or move at certain times? And who stands in front of a widescreen tv for a half-hour? AAAAHHHH!!!

There's a reason this game didn't sell well. If it was just tactics and shooting (like the Rainbow Six I know and love) it would be great.
