UbiSoft Should Have Gone to School. . .

Having switched to a Gamecube, I got spoiled on the level
of brilliant music & graphics coming from games like Tak
and the later Rayman games. But the Raymans were so
cool, I wanted to play the earlier one, which was only
available for the N-64. So, I researched on the Net, found
it and bought it.
While it takes awhile to get used to the lower quality graphics, the game is still enjoyable. The only problem is
that UbiSoft did not build a "Game Save" function into
Rayman 2, so unless you can find an obscure attachment
to your old N-64 system to save games, you are pretty much
screwed for saving your game play. Also. I tried the old
trick of just "Leaving The System On", but for some reason
the game would "Freeze Up" after several hours of non-play
and you have to re-start the system which, of course, kills
your game and you have to start over from the beginning.

After a few times of doing this, I just gave up. Banjo-Kazooie
is also an N-64 game, but its Game Save is built-in. UbiSoft
should have gone to school before putting out Rayman 2, so
players would not have to buy a memory attachment for
their system. As it is now, I do not know where to find one.

Also, the game language is in Japanese with English
sub-titles, unlike the later Gamecube games for Rayman.
It's a little annoying, but you kinda get used to it.

Overall, if you have the memory attachment for the N-64,
it is a fairly enjoyable precursor, but without it you will not
be able to play it unless you go from start to finish without
letting the system go idle.

Finally, ALL of the Raymans have the same quirk, but
Rayman 2 is the worst: The Camera Angle keeps shifting
unexpectedly and, even when you correct it in order to, say,
jump between two "safe spaces" with a dangerous area
inbetween, you jump and then the Camera Angle
suddenly changes, leaving you to frantically adjust your move " IN MID-MOVE", usually resulting in a fatal plummet.

Even with its several flaws, the series became progressively
more interesting. Looking forward to Rayman 4 this
coming September for the NEW Nintendo System.

Too short...

Just to let you know, This game is way too short to be a pretty good game. It took me only five hours to beat. If you want a very long game that is VERY hard to beat, then get Jet force Gemini. That game is so hard and long that I'm still trying to beat that game. or get the easier but not as easy as Rayman 2 older Id Software's first person shooters. DOOM for an example or Wolfenstien 3-D.

This is a very good game. Any action fan must have it.

Pros:

1. Cool Graphics
2. Great voice-acting
3. Cool sounds
4. Great gameplay
5. Huge worlds
6. Nice moves
7. Cool story

Cons:

1. Graphics could have been better
2. Cinema scenes are long and sometimes boring
3. No multiplayer value

So this game has some cons. The graphics could have been better, but also the cinema scenes are like 10 minutes long. But the gameplay is cool, too, and it is still a must have.

THIS GAME IS EXCELLENT. 5 STARS. IT IS SO FUN. ITS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! THE STORY IS GREAT, IT MUST HAVE TAKEN LOTS OF THOUGHT. SOME PARTS ARE HARD. YOU HAVE TO RIDE AND FLY ON A "SHELL" INTO MANY AREAS. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, BUT ONCE YOU DO IT A WHILE YOU'LL GET THE HANG OF IT. THE REALLY HARD PART IS THE OBSTACLES. BUT YOU WILL LOVE THE GAME!!! YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD ON SOME PARTS. ONCE YOU REACH THE END AND DEFEAT THE ULTIMATE ENEMY PIRATE, RAZORBEARD, YOU WILL ALMOST CRY. THE END IS PERFECT!!! THE CHARACTERS ARE UNCANNY AND AMAZING. A MIX OF MAGICAL, EXTREMELY CUTE, AND DANGEROUS. YOU WILL GET ATTATCHED TO THE CHARACTERS. I HEARD THERE IS A RAYMAN 3 - HOODLUM HAVOK, AND IS FOR OTHER, NEWER GAME SYSTEMS. THE ONLY BAD THING ABOUT THIS GAME IS THAT IT IS FOR NINTENDO 64 AND THEY ARE NO LONGER MAKING GAMES FOR THE SYSTEM. I WAS KIND OF MAD BECAUSE I GOT THE SYSTEM FOR CHRISTMAS WITH JUST THIS GAME AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY ARE MAKING GAMECUBE AND NOT MAKING N64 GAMES ANYMORE. AGAIN, YOU WILL LOVE THE GAME, GUARANTEED!!!!! RAYMAN IS AWESOME!

Rayman 2 The Great Escape

The best game I play in a long time. The level's are cool and very pretty. The background color is great and smooth.

Rayman is trying to save himself and he's friend's form being takeing over. If he does't the world will be lost forever.

In the game to save the world you must fine four mask in the hidden world's and in the game rayman's friend's will help you to get your power's back.

You are in rayman's world now. Help him save the world before it is to late. In the game you will fine lums in cages in the world's help the lums escape. There are many lums. There are blue lums, lums that give you air. And there are red lums that give you heath and life. In the game you get to go in the pretty places and the darkness places in the game.Save the world form evil and darkness before the goodness is gone forever.

Have fun in the game I did and I love it, you will love it too.
I hope.

A good adventure game featuring a dismembered hero

Rayman, a little creature with no arms, legs, or a neck. Sporting disembodied hands, heads, and feet, Rayman travels throughout the land using his powers to safely navigate the landscape. Rayman 2 is the sequel to Rayman for Playstation. Rayman was originally a side scrolling game. Now he's in a 3-D world though. Whether it be firing out energy blasts from his hands, using his head as a helicopter propellor, or a whole number of other abilities, Rayman is just as fun as it is comical in apperance. The graphics on this game are very good, sporting great environments and excellent character animations. Play control is excellent, music and sound not too shabby, and an innovative game design. Rayman 2 is somewhat similar to Super Mario 64 with its adventurous game design. The game can get somewhat overlly difficult in spots due to an awkward camera, and generally tricky areas. The game loses a star due to this. Otherwise, Rayman 2 is a very fun game worth buying.

A Game thats good enough to compete with the Zelda series

Rayman 2 is a great game. I haven't played a whole lot of it, heck I haven't even finished The Fairy Glade yet! But I can say this much: the graphics are beautifully colorful, there are a LOT of large, challenging levels, the plot of the game is pretty neat, and there is about a 90% chance that you'll get addicted to it. Believe me, if you buy or rent this game, you won't be wasting your money.
