Awsome game!

Nintendogs is a very fun game. It's like owning a real dog, you havt to take care of your nintendog, like you would a real dog. If you're not aloud to get a real dog, then you should definetly get this. You take your dog for walks, feed it, water it, and train him/her. Once you train your dog, you can enter competitions (obediance trail, agility, and dick competitions). You can unlock new stuff, and when you take your dogs on walks, they can find presents for you and meet other dogs! There's this thing called bark mode, where you can interact with other peoples dogs. Going out to the grocery store? well you can take your dog with you and find other dogs.

Little Too Easy...

Don't take me wrong, the game is great. Only thing is, it's so easy to train. I have a real golden retriever at home that is several hundred times harder to train than the virtual one, and my dog's one of the "smarter" dogs. If the producers made it a bit harder to train, it'd probably be more tedious yet more realistic. Otherwise, it's a really fun game. Recommend for DS players.

This is an AWESOME game!

I really love this game sooo much! I can't have a dog at home so I have a dog in my Nintendo! This is a great game! I suggest that you should buy it. I already have three dogs to take care of...which is good! Once again, I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

Playing with Puppy

Great game for an animal lover who for whatever reason can't have a real-life dog at the moment.
Playing, feeding and training the puppies are very fun, and very addictive.
However, its not exactly a game to keep you entertained for a long stretch at a time.

Nintendogs shows all sorts of new tricks

Nintendo is well known for childish or child-friendly titles, and lately it seems that they are trying to find a spot in the "weird" niche. With their latest "game," Nintendogs, I think they've found a perfect little spot in that niche and they've successfully made the best pet simulator on the market in any shape or form.

Next to a real dog, you can't get anything more realistic than this game. Nintendogs is, flat-out, a dog simulator. It's not even really fair to call it a game, in fact. Anyway, the game starts you off at a kennel where you can pick between one of six dogs. The six dogs shown in the kennel vary depending on the version of Nintendogs you picked up. In total, there are eighteen little puppies to buy and train. The real perk to Nintendogs, as I said, is the realism. Not only does each puppy look just like a real-life puppy (in polygon form), but it will also act like one.

Of course, this means that raising and training a puppy can be difficult but ultimately a fun experience. Nintendogs avoids all of the trouble of real puppies (after all, there are no hair-shedding or peeing functions on the DS) and gives you the full experience in a digital form. Using the touch screen, you can pet your puppy, give it physical commands, and play with it using various objects. Nintendogs also makes the best use of the DS's microphone and allows you to use it to give verbal commands and the like. Your puppies can learn tricks and you can set certain words to trigger these tricks. For instance, you can teach a puppy to sit, and if you wish to tell the dog "sit," it will sit.

Overall I think Nintendogs uses the DS's hardware to the fullest extent but it isn't enough of a "game," really. This doesn't keep it from being an easy recommendation--this is a game for kids, teens, adults, boys, girls, anyone. If you're a dog lover and you own a DS (or hell, even your child), then buy this game. You won't be disappointed with what you get.

Nintendogs: Best Nintendo DS Game!

Nintendogs is a puppy simulator for the Nintendo DS. This is probably the best Nintendo DS game ever! I recommend getting a Nintendo DS just for this game!

There are 3 versions of this game: Chihuahua, Dachshund, and Labrador.

Graphics 10/10 - This game has jaw-dropping graphics! The graphics in this game are the best I've ever seen on a Nintendo DS! The framerate is smooth, which is very good.

Sound Effects 10/10 - This game has awesome sound effects! The dogs sound so realistic!

Visual Effects 10/10 - Great visual effects!

Gameplay 10/10 - This game is the #1 Sim/Stradegy game on the Nintendo DS!

Overall: With 6 breeds in each version, wireless multiplayer abilities (requires 2 DS systems and 2 copies of Nintendogs (any version)), 3-D graphics, ability to train your dog using voice commands, and tons of stuff to do with your dog, this game is a must-have for any Nintendo DS owner!

5 out of 5 stars

I got Nintendogs September 2005 and I was so excited to have it! It turned out to be more fun than I could have imagined and I stayed up for hours playing it. I enjoyed getting together with my friends and hearing my puppy barking (you can make ur pet bark or not if a puppy is in range). You can also train your dog for money which starts out difficult, but you get used to the training eventually. It took me a bit to even get my dog to know his name, but it was well worth the money I spent to get! You should try to get ANY version of this game because its pretty much the same. THis game is good for anybody who wants a pet but for some reason can't get a dog. I luv the graphics because they look very very realistic. I hope one day they make a hamster, cat, gerbil, bird, horse, fish, or lizard version of the game!

This is the BEST Game EVER!!!

Ok...so if your allergic to pets, this is a game for you! This game is exactly like owning a dog. You must feed and water your dog, you can give your dog baths and walk your dog! :D You enter contests to get money so you can buy another dog or buy food, water and accesories for your dog! You can unlock different types of dogs by earning trainer points. You can get trainer points by walking your dog, winning a contest, playing with your dog and most importantly training your dog to do tricks. The more trainer points you get the more types of dogs you can unlock! To see how much trainer points you have, go to the main menu then click "go out". Then click the "Info" Button. After you've clicked the info button click on"Trainer Status". Then you should see how much trainer points you have! :D Oh yeah and guess what, even when your not playing Nintendogs, your dogs get hungry and thirsty so every day go on your Nintendo DS and feed your dogs so they won't starve!
If you get this game I really hope you enjoy it! I LOVE this game!!!!!!

Thanks for the help Nacho

thanks a lot, this game is very fun, and the fact that you can bring it anywhere on the DS makes it very easy to just turn on and play, unlike waiting for an xbox or gamecube to load while pluging in the controlers. It is also very interactive and from petting the puppies to entering into competitions, it has a lot of replayability and i've been playing it since it came out and I still think its awesome. Get this game, its one of the best DS games out there!
