Limited Edition case is defective

Game is great, but beware. The Limited Edition of this game comes in a defective case. Everyone I've talked to that has purchased this version, including myself, have gotten their copies with the game off the spindle, extremely scratched and unusable. We now have to send in our discs to MS and wait for replacements.

I highly recommend getting one of the other two version of this game.

Halo 3 is a great, by yourself or online. But the Limited Edition has defective packaging. Both my discs were scratched. Don't buy the Limited Edition until Microsoft fixes the package.

Limited Edition is Scratched, rumor is conformed

If you're just thinking of buying Halo 3, please dont consider the Limited Edition. Most of the ones that are bought by me and friends are scratched. Due to the bad design of the box it destroys the CDs inside. If you have the time to purchase and send back to get a replacment, be my guest. Buy either get the Normal, or the Legendary (The one I got after) is great. I like the packing, and the CD case inside is the same as the normal one.

Halo 3 is the best game there is. Have fun and see you in the battle field.

Destroyed the Story and Characters

**SPOILERS(kinda)**

Halo 1 and especially 2 built up a fantastic story and some amazing characters...and Halo 3 destroyed all of that. Halo 1 was filled with amazing game play. Halo 2 introduced key characters with amazing dialogue, story line and cut scenes. It's almost like Halo 3 wasn't even made by the same team. The characters were drastically changed and 90% of the time it was for the worse (a good example of this is Truth. In Halo 2 Truth was very wise, level headed and had great dialogue. In 3 he is a moronic religious nut who has a middle school vocabulary.) Although I had a good time going through the campaign, I was extremely disappointed in the changes to the characters and some of the inconsistencies in the story.

EDIT: One important thing that they did make better was the multiplayer in Halo 3. New weapons have been added while some of the older weapons have been modified. Also, new features such as the ability to watch replays of campaign and multiplayer games have been added which adds a whole new aspect. Although the campaign was somewhat of a letdown, I think that the multiplayer alone is enough to justify this games purchase.

I have always enjoyed the franchise, but i play for the story. I beat the game in 6 hours.I feel cheated.For $65 i expect to play for 15 hours at the least. I'm really dissapointed. The limited edition disc were scratched just like the rumors, but the discs worked fine. I agree that these games are WAY
over-hyped. The story does wrap it up and i was having a good time till it ended. Just think long and hard before you throw your money away.

Since the first game came out, I had always liked it, but prefered my sony products. But since I bought my elite and got this game, I have been amazed!!! This game is probably the best looking, and best overall game I've ever played. Online is amazing, the story actually has a gud ending, and its fun no matter what!

Thanks Bungie for making an excellent game!

I am a fan of the halo series, and in all honesty the game is pretty good. Of course it was over hype, but still. In campaign mode, the graphics or pretty stunning, storyline isn't really that great and it does feel like your playing halo 2 with better graphics. All in all I would give the campaign a 7 out of 10. Multiplayer is great( of course), nothing bad to say about it. I would give Multiplayer 10 out of 10. All in all, its a good game and definitly worth getting. Buy this game, but be careful about this Limited Edition. I have been hearing about the disc being scatchs up and getting this edition and seeing it myself confirms it for me.

Great Conclusion to an Awesome Trilogy

What can I say? If you loved Halo and Halo 2, then Halo 3 is simply a must buy. The disappointing (to some) cliffhanger ending of Halo 2 is picked up very quickly as the Master Chief arrives on Earth on the heels of the Covenant fleet, who are looking for a way to activate the entire Halo network and wipe out all life in the galaxy. With his new Elite allies and, of course, the rest of the UNSC forces, Master Chief takes on the Covenant and the Flood in a race to the mysterious Forerunner-built Ark.

The gameplay and graphics are much improved over Halo 2. Single player campaign is not too long, but it's satisfying, especially at higher difficulty levels. The best part of Halo 3, though, is multiplayer: Bungie really did their homework, and the new multiplayer gameplay and features are well thought out and fun.

A couple of disappointments, though: My Limited Edition case came with a few dents in it, and the bonus disc was totally scratched up and had to be replaced (for free) by Microsoft.

Halo 3 scratches

I bought the halo 3 limited edition. I got it on the 27th of september. I opened up the box and what do you know scratched disk. both of the were scratched. the case does not hold them in place. I called technical support and they took back the game no questions asked even though I opened it. thanks amazon. I then bought the standard edition and everything was fine. about the game. I love the game it goes back and touches roots with halo combat evolved. you only play as the chief. the ending is perfect.I would recomend play through it on easy and look around. admire the art. Microsoft is replacing scratched disk free of charge. so you can still have the limited edition.
