I've been WAITING for this ...

I have always been a fan of Virtual pinball, dating back to playing Pinbot on my NES right after I got married. And from that moment on, I remember thinking to myself, "Now if they'd only make a port of 'Taxi.'"

Well it took 17 years, but I finally got my Taxi fix, along with a lot more classic Williams tables. I actually boght the original Gottlieb collection, and while enjoyable the table selection was less than stellar. This version is SPOT ON ! The only real letdown is Jive Time, but considering there's ten machines on this disc, it's a minor complaint.

If you are familiar with the Gottlieb disc, there aren't as many customizations or unlockables, but it's not that much of a letdown. The only thing that I wish they'd left in was the opton to switch to a 5 ball game. I know that 3 balls was standard for the lifecycle of most of these machines, but I always felt I was just hitting my stride by the 3rd ball & 2 more balls would have added to that.

Great Selection of Williams Finest!

I have to admit, I initially bought this game for Funhouse and didn't care what else came on this. In the end though, I have come to appreciate every pinball on this, and already am hoping that enough people buy this to encourage Williams to bring out a second edition!

This is truly a great collection! The challenges alone add a lot of value, from giving you a set of goals for each board to unlocking extras. There's also the challenge mode, a truly grueling test of pinball skills that will take you through every board. I cannot stress enough that the goals, challenges, and extras add lots of replay to this game. The tutorials for each board are invaluable, and may well help players who have the real deal learn a few of the scoring mechanics better.

As far as presentation, each board is taken from the real thing, recreated to perfection. A larger TV may help with busier boards, as the zoom doesn't help for some. The choice of camera angles helps, but the view flakes at times. It is a very minor gripe.

As far as boards, most I enjoy, and have found a few to become a fan of (Whirlwind and Pinbot among them). A few are lackluster like Jivetime and Firepower, but they are a good representaion of the entire Williams spectrum. I only wish I could have seen Roadshow on here, but maybe it will be on the next one!

Buy this!

Just Like the Real Thing

I can't imagine getting much closer to real pinball action than you get with these 10 boards. The Wii Remote buzzes when it should. Serving and flipping both feel just like the real thing. You TILT when you bump the table TOO hard. And you feel the agony when you miss the flip and your ball goes down the drain. Most of the boards are challenging -- and lots of fun. Pinball Hall of Fame is a great buy for $[...] on Amazon! (Requires Wii Remote plus Nunchuck.)

Best pinball game for any console!

By far the best pinball game for a video game console.
Great tables, great controls, and great camera setup.
Throw in the extra 10 bucks and get the Wii version, the nudge controls work perfectly with the motion sensing control scheme.
A Must Buy!!!

I've wanted a pinball machine for years and I've tried several video game substitutes -- this is the ONE to get -- FINALLY! I absolutely love it. My two favorite games are Fun House and Whirlwind. The Table Goals and Wizard Goals make all the games even more fun. Get this game, I promise you'll love it for the Wii!

A Must Buy for any Pinball Fan !!

I read all the reviews on here, and knew it was going to be a great game, and I wasn't disappointed. The only real complaints I have are with the camera controls, it's hard to switch views while playing and usually end up losing the ball in the process. The other things are minor things that were left out from the real counterparts. One being if you don't score or score very low it doesn't give you a replay on the lost ball. Another, if you beat the high score, it does not award you a credit. All in all, good game and very addicting!

This game is lots of fun as I have spent many hours on it already, and yes, you can tilt the "machine." It brought back memories of my youth and is almost like playing the real game!

Best pinball sim I've seen yet

I've played about half these tables in real life. All simulations of the tables I'm familiar with are accurate, including the annoying erratic flipper delay on machines that had annoying erratic flipper delay. The two-handed control (the left hand uses the nunchuk) is the most natural I've run across. The tables span several decades, which means you probably won't like all of them but you will almost certainly like some of them.

This is the best 20 dollars I've ever spent on a game

This is the best 20 dollars I've ever spent on a game. I think that about says it all. It's a joy to play the tables, the ball physics are nigh on perfect, and I am steeped in pleasant nostalgia for these tables every single time I play this game. Here's to more titles like this coming out, on any platform.

Bought this for my husband since he likes pinball games. He has had fun playing the different "machines" and going for the big score. It adds to the variety when playing with the WII.
