Awesome game... if you're into strategy trading cards.

It is an impressive merging of traditional strategy trading cards with video game technology. The game comes with a deck of 34 cards, a booster pack consisting of 8 cards, a playing 'mat' with nine card 'fields' and the PlayStation Eye camera with it's stand. The goal is to be the first among two players to occupy 5 of those fields in the mat from your deck of cards. Although it sounds simple, the real challenge is to play your cards wisely by keeping in mind the strengths and weaknesses of your characters. It uses the PlayStation Eye camera to uniquely represent and keep track of the card you are playing as well as the position on the mat which is then displayed in a 3D model complete with animation and effects for the battles. The PlayStation Eye camera is surprisingly responsive even in low light conditions and adds a nice dimension to the traditional trading cards gameplay. A nice touch worth mentioning is that the game utilizes the motion sensing capabilities of the PlayStation Eye in a sense that, if you tilt a card slightly to the left in front of the camera it will then translate the movement on the TV screen and tilt the character as if it was right on top of the card. The camera has other purposes as well as it also keeps track of current information such as character health, points, card location and so on so you don't have to, leaving you to concentrate only on the cards you want to play. Integration with the PlayStation Network raises the re-playability of the game as you can take your deck of customized cards to battle with other gamers online around the world. It is a nice break from the traditional action/shooter genre but you have to keep in mind that, if you are not into trading card games, you will probably find this game difficult to understand as it requires a lot of time and reading to get the rules of the game straight and to learn how to customize your deck of cards. Nevertheless, it's worth a try even if it's your first time with this kind of games... like me.

I bought this game on sale just for the camera and got hooked on the game.

I find myself driving around town looking for booster packs. I never saw myself playing a card game like this but I have logged some serious hours over the last few days.

Buy it for the camera...works great with Burnout Paradise demo, then realize how addicting the game is.

Unique and fun game

I have thoroughly enjoyed this game and have regularly played it over the past month. As mentioned in other reviews, it is a simple game in your goal (occupy 5 out of the 9 squares) but involves a surprising level of strategy. It's a relatively easy game to learn. Within a couple matches against the computer, I had the basic concepts down and then with each game learned a little bit more as to the strategic elements involved. Similar to what they say about Texas No Limit Poker, the Eye of Judgment takes minutes to learn, but a lifetime to master. The AI is a worthy opponent, and as you improve your own skill level you can also increase the AI's difficulty level. I did initially have a little difficulty with my basement lighting, but a desk lamp is all that was needed to cure this problem. With boosters, theme decks, and expansions, this is a game that will continue to keep your interest. I definitely recommend this game.

This game really surprised me. I have never before played collectible card games, I only bought this game because I wanted the PlayStation Eye and figured I'd pay a few extra bucks for a game. Wow, what a game! It took me awhile to figure out good deck building and strategy, but now that I'm finally getting the hang of the game, I really can't get enough of it.

I consider myself an avid gamer, and own many of the other must-have games for PS3 like Heavenly Sword, Ratchett & Clank, Uncharted, Resistance, and CoD4. I was trying to decide which games I have played the most on my PS3, and I couldn't decide which I had played more of between Call of Duty 4 and Eye of Judgment. Yes, I play it that much. It's just really that good.

Once you get into it, you won't be able to put it down. The Set 2 expansion pack which unlocks even more cards is right around the corner, so don't waste any time, get into this game now and learn the ropes before you gear up to start serious competition with Set 2.

So, i was never the type to play card games like dungeons and dragons, and pokemon or whatever the case maybe. The 1st time i saw this game previewed at E3 (video game convention) i was totally amped and very excited to play this game.

When the game was release... i had my doubts. I Wasn't sure if i would learn to like card games or begin to understand it...

Well, i took a chance and used my $50 best buy giftcard and purchased it for Xmas...

And wow!... i'm kicking myself in the @$$ for waiting for so long. The game is fantastic, addictive and it brings video games/card games to another level.

This game is so awesome... my fiance plays it too. Not only does she play it, but she has beaten me 5 out of the 6 times we've played! My friends that i usually play with love it too..

Pros:
Interactive gameplay
A whole new way of playing videogames/card games
graphics are awesome
I bought the game pack which includes the eye and stand, a starter deck and the card pad.
Learning curve is average.
Strategy aspect of it is between good and great.
Characters are awesome

Cons:
Camera can become very sensitive and also very UN-sensitive.
(It appears that the PSeye works well when there is natural light coming into the room. During one of my games, the sun began setting and it was creating shadows from the blinds that hit the card mat. The PSeye then started to act up and had a very hard time reading the cards. I helped the PSeye out by giving it more light when it needed it. I placed a computer lamp by the card mat and turned it on and shined it onto the mat everytime the PSeye had a difficult time. It also helps when you wave your hand across the mat to refresh the camera and enables it to rescan everything. I know it seems like a pain, but having a lamp right next to the card mat works great.)

its fun when someone play with you

this game sparks especially when you have a partner to play with you, whether its a brother/sister , husband/wife, a relative or a friend.
it becomes greater if you buy the expansion cards, as you you collect more summoning card and magic cards.
the game can be played singly either with the COM or online, but in both you can go out of the rules in the game store , and eventually the fun will disapear when playing against the COM, playing the game online with Rank or friendly matches is not bad, but you might face a player who have all the secret cards, or his card deck contain all the strong ones, and continuing summoning only the strongest member , there is the problem in the game as you can always from youre 30 card the opponent and you can view them all without noticing.
at the end the game is wonderfull and enjoyable if you have someone to play with you, and with it it becomes very exciting.

I got this game yesterday and tried setting up the interface. The camera and its supports are easy enough as is the setting up of the 9 rectangle mat. However, for a long time, I could not move the scroll beyond the beginning screen that leads to the setting up of the hardware on the system. I discovered that my sixaxxis controller was being over ridden by the Logitech Sports wheel set up- Once I disconected the wheel from its USB connection, everything proceeded smoothly and I had the PS3 playing against itself. Pretty boring for me but I'm excited about the technology. I downloaded and installed the EyeCreate software from the playstation site from within the Sony Playstation, and am playing with this application which shows up under "games" in the Sony menu.

The Eye of Judgment really opened my eyes to card games. At first I thought this game was for kids in school and people who like to collect and trade cards. After I saw the demo videos on Youtube and Amazon, I can't wait to play this innovative and unique game on my PS3. Everyone says it can get expensive if you want to collect all the available cards currently in the market, but at least I wanted to try out the game play, the camera and the starter deck. I spent about a few hours trying to comprehend the game rules, study each card from the starter deck and search online for additional information when I had questions. After all information was gathered, I played it for 3 hours and I was totally hooked on this game. The Eye of Judgment is a game that players need to learn the rules and play for at least once before they can have fun with it. I am not very good at it at this time since the AI seems to beat me half of the time even when I play amateur level. I believe it will take me a while to be good enough for online duel, especially most people who play online should have many better cards in their decks. If I play online using my starter deck, I will just get ripped big time. I will start buying different theme decks when I get better at it. I can not imagine the replay value of this game. If you like card games or strategical games, you must take a look. It will open your eyes wider.

The "Eye of Judgement" game is terrific. It is exciting and new things happen at every turn. The "eye" camera is the greastest thing. It is new and different than anything. It is hard not to spend hours on this exciting new game.

very fun and challenging.

I enjoy this game very much. The AI when on hard is very tough to beat and is a real challenge, but the difficulty on the lower levels is just right for beginners. The online is also a blast. I mostly play with people i know, but I'm sure the experience with strangers is the same.
