Not suitable for rear projection setup

I purchased this game simply for the included hardware. My intent was to use the "eye" as a fun way for my daughter to control some simple children orientated games. The product installed in a snap and seemed to be of very good quality however my initial positive impression was changed once I tried to use it. The inputs seems very slow and any reaction required largely exaggerated movements. I have a dedicated home theater with a rear projector and I assume this is the reason for the very poor performance. I suspect that with a projector beaming light in the direction of the "eye" it makes it too difficult for the device to see the movements. After trying some adjustments I realized it just wouldn't suit my needs and returned it.

Great strategy/collectible card game

I love this game! The developer took a fairly simple concept (occupy 5 out of 9 squares) and created a complex/fun strategy game by adding in creatures from different elements, spell cards, mana restriction, and different attack/block methods. Combine that with a visually stunning graphics of PS3 and the interactive camera, and you have an awesome game.

The starter deck is good enough to get into the game and play against other online players with a starter deck. But, to really get into the game, a few extra booster packs or trade with other players is definitely needed. :)

Best game for ps3 for now

Did some reading on this game and watched some of the screen shots and decided to try out. This is an excellent value considering you get the camera and the game.
I have no experience with magic or other card based games but this is very fun. The game works with a set board of 3X3 squares. The squares as well as the cards are made up of wood, water, fire, earth, and biolith (machine). You essentially get a 30 card deck to play. It is pretty tough to play the computer but playing against people online is really where the whole game is at. So unless you plan on playing online or have someone to play against don't bother. You get one starter deck and one booster pack of eight cards. You then can purchase more boosters and get of course more cards. There are currently 110 cards divided into common, uncommon, rare, and ultra rare. However, the only rare cards are really the ultra rare cards. On a well known auction site rares go for $[...] a piece. Ultras up to $[...]. If you buy a booster box for $[...] you are likely to pick up all the common, uncommon, rare and 1-3 ultras.

The camera and game cards work very well, but do need a lot of light to work perfect. Sometimes my room gets dark and the camera will not pick up cards.

The best part is how balanced the game is. Just because someone has 10 ultra rares does not mean he can beat your starter deck. So you really have some fun in trying to build your deck. You will need at least some more normal cards to build a great deck but that is half the fun. So don't feel that you have to run out and stock up on ultra rares. (of course as you get more into it you will be sure to pick up some). Anyhow, the game is pretty fun once you get going. The instructions aren't the best but there is a long video with the game explaining the basics. Play a few and you get the hang of how the cards work.
The only down side is the battle animations, once you have seen one you see it again and again. Most people just turn it off.

Overall I love the game. As a tip play it alittle more like chess aka it always doesn't help you to just kill your challenger. If you take 5 squares you win...simple right? see you online!

Great Fun, Tedious Setup

The game itself is a blast to play, alone or with others in the room or online. There are a decent amount of cards out there to make a variety of playable decks. The idea of the game is really quite awsome, however the setup is a PITA. the lighting is tricky during the daylight and the camera base is too light. These things can be remedied fairly easily, but just a pain. The card copiers take away from the pure nature but that is another can of worms. I like the concept and the game play and can't wait for new card releases.

This is a great game. I was never into card games but this is an amazing game. The camera is also great for other games such as burnout and a few games you can buy off of the psn.

The 'EYE' is a great device and has many other applications other than use with this game.
As far as Eye of Judgement the game, it is truly one unique experience, and should be experienced by all D&D, role playing game lovers!

I have had my PS3 for awhile now, and besides Heavenly Sword, I had yet to find a game that I couldn't wait to get home and play. This game is it! On my first tow days of owning it I spent about 7 hours playing, and that was just against the computer!

Keep in mind, 1 hour of that was trial and error with getting the camera to recognize the cards!

This is my new favorite addiction!

you can play with your Friend or online but the only problem is that you must buy Eye of Judgment cards so you can play with power monster becuse you can't have new monster or spell from the game.

thanks.

You don't really need to be a card game player to enjoy.

I have played RPGs for many years but I never even thought about trying a card game. I only bought Eye of Judgement because I wanted a PS Eye, and I ended up really enjoying the game. It took me some getting used to because of my inexperience with card games but once I got the gist of the game it became very addicting. You can play against the computer or go online to battle it out with others.

My only complaint would be that there isn't much of a reason to play against the computer besides getting better at the game. There is no "campaign" for lack of a better word. If you get into the game, you'll probably end up wanting to buy some new cards as well, although the deck that comes with it is not bad.

Great Game for the price

At first, the only reason I bought this was because it came with the playstation eye and was on sale. To my surprise, the game works surprisingly well and is especially fun with a friend. Takes me back to the days when I'd play Pokemon with my elementary school chums.
