Ready for a GREAT portable RPG for the GBA?

Here we go. This game was great the second I started playing, but it just got better as I went along because at first, I had no idea how to play, but after I got the hang of it, and I got into the story, the game just got better ever minute of playing. It's not really HARD to play, but it's not really EASY either. I'd say the learning curve ( for me at least ) was about 1:30 hours. Which is not bad compared to some other RPGs out there. Anyways here is my stack up on the game:

Graphics: 5/5. The graphics are just amazing in this game, from the opening sequence in 3D, to the in-game graphics, they fit great with the game, and have great color.

Sound: 5/5. Very well done. Each world has a different rhythm, and when you are in battles and using your attacks, the sound is very, very, very good.

Control: 4.5/5. For some people, the control may be hard and annoying, but like I said after that learning curve it will be easy as pie to know how to play the game.

Fun: 4.5/5. This is what a lot of people have been waiting for. Kingdom Hearts for the PS2 was a huge success, so it was put onto the GBA, and done just as well as the consol version. There are times when this game is a little slow, and boring, and repetetive, ( get cards, get keys, open doors, move on. ) but the story is so intriging, and the cards you can use in battles are so cool, you don't really notice it. But there is another thing I didn't care for in this game. When you are in a battle against certain things, or bosses for example, you will be there for a while just trying to kill them. it is pretty hard to die in this game, though, because everytime you run out of cards you can simply hold A and get a new deck. This game is simple enough for most people to play, and the story is so interesting, you can't stop playing. Here's a bit of what the story is about:

This game is based around Sora's memories, so what he sees sometimes can decieve him, and other characters also think different things or similar things. ( Knowing random peoples names with no explanation, hence the game name Chain of Memories. ) The story is basically the title of the game. So the few things I didn't like about this game was: How you are always stuck in a small room unless in a battle, needing cards and different keys to open some doors, and how the game is semi-repetetive. There are too many things in this game to go over that are good, but a few are: It's a portable Kingdom Hearts, it has Disney characters, and it's just a fun and overall great game. Buy this game for anyone at any age, and expierience the fun Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories has to give.

BEST GAME CREATED!!!!!!!

Kingdom Hearts is a game many kids will love, and so will Chain of Memories(C.O.M.). COM is a game similar to the first, because Sora(main character)loses his memories of the first game, which means he must get them back. Disney characters help Sora on his quest, while others try to stop him. This is a five-star game like the first, and I'm so excited!!!

I'm a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts. But this game is such a let down. The card system puts me to sleep. It's incredibly annoying. I don't like cards. Any type of cards. But I love Kingdom Hearts. Unfortunately, cards ruined it. I'm looking forwards to Kingdom Hearts 2. I don't think I'll ever finish playing Chain of Memories though. Too boring.

Great Game!!!

I'm a 17 year old gamer. I have completed this game.
First of all, the battle system is symply AMAZING. Completely different from most out there, it is much more that 'hack and slash'. The skill with which you jump/slide etc can compensate for a low level, so skill can play a major role in the game, more so than in most games.
There are two main parts of the game - one you onlock after getting through 'castle oblivion' with sora (basically, finishing the sora part of the game; sora is main character in this part). I was continually thinking I might be on the last level, but this game continued for what seemed like forever! (YES!!!)
With Sora, you can collect cards, and set up a deck as you like. This is strategy in itself and an important part of the game. Using these cards, you enter battles (which can be avoided in the main part of the game, yes avoided, it's not random!) and use the deck of cards you created to battle. Battling depends on speed and use of the cards.
You use other cards to enter each new room... so even the next room you go to depends on your own choices.
With Riku, you must deal with a different battling style... but that's for you to discover ;)

The plot was good although at times some of it was a bit cliche.
The ending on the final part, was a bit of a letdown after the rest of the AMAZING game.

The only way you ight get bored would be with continually battling the same boss if you cannot defeat, or with the fact that the rooms you enter can look very similar and might get annoying

music is also pretty repetitive - one weak part of the game

However, YOU SHOULD GET THIS GAME - IF YOU ONLY PLAY ON GBA (like me) IT WILL BE A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE AND WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT. The battle system is by far one of the best I've ever played on.
gameplay/graphics 10/10. no question about it.

also, the level is good for all ages - my younger sister enjoys it; it's not so hard that younger kids couldn't play it either. Older people could still enjoy too.

I liked the implementation of the disney characters; it was cool seeing Malefecent, Alice, The little mermaid, the list goes on

buy and enjoy - that's all I can say ;)

Wawesome...

this GAme is da bomb. It will be my last GBA game. This game i heard u use cards to battle. It is weird but what i heard it is still awesome. It is arriving just be4 Christmas so i bet a lot of people will get this. The best thing about this game is probably because it is continued from Kindom Hearts 1. I heard you can play as Sora's best friend. Yeah thats right i think u can play as Riku. If you saw the commercial you see Mickey and Kiku in black. I dont know what that means but i have a felling it is bad.

I think that you need to beat Kindom Hearts 1 to understand this game. I am not sure if you need to. I am still wondering how GBA can have these graphics. They look so good in the commercial, but who knows. This game will rock believe me get this.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Repetitive Memories

Kingdom Hearts mixes the world of Final Fantasy and Disney which apparently, everyone loves. I mildly enjoyed the games on PS2 so I decided to go ahead and pick this puppy up as well. For those of you who thought the PS2 counterparts got pretty repetitive or monotonous in some parts . . . the GBA version is even moreso. The fighting system is changed up a bit, and instead of just button mashing, you're left with cards. You can mix your cards for different attacks or, just button mash. I'll admit, the "card system" took a little getting used to but after I became comfortable with it . . . I decided I didn't like it at all. Why mess with the original structure of the game? Well I'll tell you why, it's because this incarnation doesn't offer much in terms of story or gameplay. Yes, it takes place between KH1 and 2 but you're not gonna miss a beat if you just skip over this one.

The best aspects of the PS2 versions (upgrading your character, feasting your eyes on Disney characters and worlds) is pretty much gone here. Due to graphical limitations, all the worlds are limited to rooms . . . that just slightly resemble the world they're in. The only thing you can upgrade this time around is your health, how many cards you can carry and the cards themselves. I don't know about you, but for me, that was about as exciting as sticking my head in an oven. The story is nothing to swoon over either, as all these characters talk about are memories (and yeah, I'm pretty sure they come from your brain, not your heart).

I wasn't the greatest fan of the PS2 Kingdom Hearts games. I thought they were just "okay" so perhaps this isn't my cup of tea. It's a little fun to hear all the familiar themes and even to lay the smackdown on some heartless, but that all wears off quickly. For all you die hard fans out there, go ahead and give this one a go, I'm fairly confident you wont be disappointed. As for any other average gamer . . . just keep walkin' . . .

Thinking about buying? Read This !
