Overall this game was pretty good even though it has its downsides. The story line was really good and pivotal for the Kingdom Hearts series. This game is card based fighting, and it does as good of a job as it could to keep it interesting. But it still gets pretty monotonous after a little bit. I would suggest this game if one plans on completing the entire Kingdom Hearts series, and not if one was only going to play this game.

A great game

A great game to go with the Kingdom Hearts games so far, word is KH2 Final Mix+ will have a 3D version of it. All in all, I love this game.

Doesn't live up to KH1

I will start out by saying that Kingdom Hearts 1 for the PS2 was an awesome game, probably the best game I've ever played. But if you agree with me there, don't feel obligated to buy KH COM. First of all, I hated the whole card gameplay. I prefer hack and slash type game play. And second of all, why put it on the GBA? It would have probably been way better on the PS2, though it probably would've taken longer then...but still. I spend most of the time trying to avoid the heartless, while in KH1, I'd want to fight them. But I will say that the graphics are great, considering this is a GBA game! And the storyline is pretty good too, from what I can tell so far. I stopped playing a long time ago because it just wasn't, well, fun. Maybe I'll pick it up again.

Pros:
+Awesome Graphics
+Bridge between KH1 and KH2
+Interesting Storyline
+Same awesome characters

Cons:
-Card Gameplay
-It's on the GBA
-Not near as good as KH1
-Just not that much fun

I'm not saying you shouldn't get it. If you really want to know what happens after KH1, and actually want to find out yourself without going on the internet, consider it. If you like stratigic RPG's, you'll probably like it more than I did. If you have a choice between KH1 and this, definetly go KH1. But this game isn't that bad. :)

Wow this is one of the best Gameboy games ever!!!!!!

If you like RPG games and other types of games like them then I reconmened this game. Not only is the plot good the game play is awesome too. Some of the boss battles might be hard but they are still fun. (...) Also for anyone who loves FINAL FANTASY games ( me being one of them), this game includes Cloud, Squall, Aeris and others. Anyway this is one of the best games I played for gameboy and anyone that has said or is saying this game sucks, SCREW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All people who critize this game suck

I want to get one thing straight. This game does not copy Yu-gi-oh. It is in no way like Yu-gi-oh. Those who say it is like Yu-gi-oh are imbeciles. They are wrong. This game can get tedious, yet calling it like Yu-gi-oh is too much of an insult.

Get it now!

The game is an awesome on especially if you liked Kingdom Hearts for ps2. This game bridges the gap between where Kingdom Hearts leaves off,and where KIngdom Hearts 2 begins.
Graphics 10/10 : cutscenes have great graphics. On a Nintendo DS, the graphics are better.I'd say about n64 quality.

Music 5/10 : Basically just the same music from Kingdom Hearts for PS2. Nothing new.

Gameplay 6/10 : The game features a card system which over time gets fairly annoying. You have to use a card to open new worlds, attack, use friends,magic,ect.. You have to run and recharge as the bosses slaughter you. The game allows you to run during minor battles( not bosses regular Heartless). You get different keyblade cards. You can get ones from the game Kingdom Hearts : Final Mix(a japanese only game). The keyblades are Diamond Dust and One Winged Angel.

Story 8/10 : Not excatly as good as the first but above average.

not as good as the ps2 game

this game is pretty fun but not as good as the ps2 game.chain of memories is like a repeat of the ps2 kingdome haerts only your in this place called castle oblivion and you go back in time in sora's memories to fight all the heartless once more. the graphics are not as good as the ps2 but there fine with me and they could have made the battle system a bit better,it doesn't have a turned based battle system but doesn't battle freedome eitherthe heartless rome around on the screen but if you run into one of them it interrupts the game and puts up a battle feild to rome around on.and instead of just hacking and slashing whith no worries you have to use cards and every time you press the attack button you waste a card and since sora can jump and swing the key blade out of a battle any way it could have been a lot easier just to have free open battles

When I heard that this game had a card-based battle system I said to myself "This game would stink" even though I am a die-hard fan of Kingdom Hearts. But when I rented it from Gamefly.com it blew me away! During battle, you use cards on the left side and press the A button to use them. I always forgot it was card-based since it was so fun. Belive me, if you buy this game and you absolutley HATE card game, you won't regret this buy. Every obstacle you pass makes you feel so powerful and when you beat a boss you'll scream in joy. So what are you waiting for but Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.

great! but hard...

But kingdom hearts COM is everything i could ask for. (...)
