A must for any SQUARENIX/Disney fan!

This was an incredible game. The only snag for me was the fact that training up Sora was waaaaayy too slow. Other than that it was an amazing game, getting to finally control Riku was a plus for me.

Graphics - 9.5/10
Amazingly good, the cinematics were just like the PS2's and the sprites for the game were awesome too.

Storyline - 8/10
Too similar to the first game, but still extremely good.

Music - 9/10
I really enjoyed the music in the first Kingdom Hearts and this game used the same one, so it deserves the same rating.

Overall - 9/10
AMAZING GAME! Unfortunately it gets real boring at points. A must for any gamer.

BEST GBA GAME ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET

no really it is. im a diehard KH fan....really i am...i run a KH site here it is: www.freewebs.com/rikus_heart....
but i assume u wanna hear about this game, right?
ooookaaaay. no more stupid ramblings from me.
it starts out with ol' Sora (main character in KH)(please play KH before playing this) in the feild, then he wakes up, PS2 quality movie occurs, then theres Castle Oblivion. You go in, are introduced to the Card-based battle system *by Leon....u dont kno how much i hate him...* then u play the game for a while. The hard bosses come at the end (no duh).
AND THEN U PLAY AS RIKU!!!
i wont tell anymore, all i'll say is that this game is really fun, even WITH the card based battle system.
so go on. buy it.

WHY HAVEN'T U BOUGHT IT YET?!?!?!?!

Abandon that glimmer of hope now. I didn't, and I tarnished my view of both the GBA and the Kingdom Hearts franchise. I love Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. They're two of my favorite games of all time, but this GBA turd isn't worthy of anyone's time. Yeah, theres a couple storyline gaps filled in, but a real fan can read a story description online. The card based system DOES ruin the game. The rest of it would be alright, but they attempted to add a new dimension on the KH fighting system and it just turns out annoying. Avoid this game.

Wow...Just great.

The only reason I gave this a 4/5 is because it's a little on the short side but the game makes up for it with the FMV's the awesome battle system and the secret mode at the end. all in all BUY THIS (but play the first one first it's also awesome.)

Where was this Sora meeting? I went to Every park in Disney In June of 2004, and they were oractically shunning Kingdom Hearts. ALso, KH2 will acutually be probably coming out EARLY 2005 (Like winter). Any wayz, this is gonna ROCK!

let me start by saying, know what you're talking about before you go and diss it. first off, chain of memories is NOT a continuation of the Final Fantasy series, it is a continuation of Kingdom Hearts, which features final fantasy characters. second of all, you said its a ripoff of yu-gi-oh. its not. it uses cards to represent attacks, but it's not a card battler like yu-gi-oh. i mean, wow it must be the ONLY other game out there that uses cards. yup, yu-gi-oh has cards, this has cards, hmmm it must be a rip off. the truth is, there are tons of games out there that use cards, such as Baten Kaitos. so, mr. "hoss", just because you own a game doesnt mean you know anything about it. das 'bout it.

Not great......

Alright, maybe this game isn't the best in the series, and the card system is pretty irritating, but it is quite important to the plot. And the fact that it's on a gameboy is annoying, because you aren't getting the best game quality. I'm fairly confident that the Playstation version will be better, and am looking forward to it's release.
Though Sora's side of the story is rather boring, the game gets quite fun when you play as Riku. For instance, you don't have to wait forever to reload your cards. You press the 'A' button and they reload. Once. Every time. The one downside is that since you don't have magic cards, it's harder to heal. But you can do that with mickey cards.
Plus, in Sora and Riku's story, you learn about 5 other Organization members and they introduce Axel, who's personality seems rather different than it is in KH2. 2 of the 5 are exclusive to Riku's game.

Yes, Namine is in KH2, and she is VERY VERY VERY important to the plot. [...]

Overall, if I had known that a playstation version would be coming out in fall, I would have waited. If you're considering getting the game, I'd definetly get it, but wait intil fall, when the PS game comes out. I know I'M going to get it.

must buy for kingdom hearts fan

kingdom hearts was my best game of all time. I am in love with the second. So how does kingdom hearts 1.5 turn out. If you love Kingdom hearts skip the review and buy this now.
the story is the only reason for playing. battle are too hard. plus most worlds are from the first so their is nothing new.
