This game is fantastic and well worth the price, especially considering what's included.
You get the game, of course, as well as the guitar (similar to Guitar Hero hardware), the drum kit, including a foot pedal and sticks, and a microphone, as well as a USB hub.
If you have both Wii and PS2 platforms, I suggest you go with the PS2 version, as the equipment is essentially the same but you will probably pay less (often as much as $40) for the PS2 version. The guitar is wireless anyway on the PS2 version so there's no need to get the Wii version!
PROS:
* Reasonable price/value
* Enough songs to keep you entertained for quite a while (over 60 when all are unlocked).
* Intense enough on expert mode for the most savvy Guitar hero players, but simple enough for beginners to play too, especially using the microphone.
CONS:
* No download feature
* On the microphone, there is no way to move through game configuration/song choices microphone without a game controller also hooked up. Not a huge deal, but an annoyance.
NOTES:
*Playing the drums on this game is fun, but make no mistake. It is not like playing the drums, even on expert mode, regardless of what the ads or some reviews may say. It is loads of fun, but I've been playing drums for close to 40 years and am very familiar with some of the songs included with the game, and in Easy mode, Expert mode, whatever, these are not like playing the drums. But it is a lot of fun, just like Guitar Hero is awesome but its not going to teach you how to play guitar.
* Opportunities for solos are frequent and are loads of fun, especially on drums!
* The singing portion of this game is a lot of fun and younger players will love it as a way to join in the action!
One of the best group games out there, if not the best!

Even though I preordered this game for my son for Christmas back in November, and received it on 1/9/2008, it was still worth the wait. I was disappointed it wasn't here for Christmas, but it has brought great pleasure to my son overall for all. I only wish that it would have more options for the ps2 people since they will not be able to download extra songs. One thing though, if we ever decide to upgrade to a ps3, the instruments are compatible for ps3, so all we have to get is the game itself. My son has played it non stop, and has had all the family join in. Too bad, I spend more money on his real guitar playing instead of his gaming experience, but now after playing rock band I may have to rethink it and buy the ps3. I love it myself. Thanks amazon for not canceling out my order, and making me hunt all over the place for this game.

The microphone broke on its second use. We're trying to get it fixed or replaced, but have had no luck so far with the EA Games distributor here.
Other than that, this game is fun, very fun. The drums were much more difficult than I had been prepared for. The guitars are the same as Guitar Hero, so that makes them easier. The vocals, before the mike break were just fun. They are harder than you think they would be.

This is an awesome game and is just as good as Guitar Hero. The guitars are better in Rock Band than Guitar Hero guitars. There re good songs on Rock Band too. This is my favorite game and it is great. The drums work great and so does the guitar and microphone!

My kids and I totally love Rock Band! We play for hours, there's some part for everyone to play, we even have friends and relatives join in the fun! It's a real blast for sleep overs and get togethers. If you don't have Rock Band, you need to get it!! Awesome!!!

One of the most fun music games out there, fun for hard core gamers and newbies alike. Even those musically challenged love it, if oyu are a fan of Guitar Hero, this is a must have. The drums are very very challenging, and even the singing can be tough. The guitar parts start off fairly easy but get much harder. Got it in time for a party, and it was an amzing hit! Expensive, but worth every penny.

This game is worth every penny.From the time it arrived my basement has been filled with teenagers most every night and I love it. Way better than hanging around the mall or riding around in cars.And the company stands behind their product. We couldn't get the microphone in our set to work, and a quick e-mail had one at our door in a few days-no shipping charges-no hassle.Even us parents have had fun with it, the music is great.Anything with music from Nirvana rates A++++ with me !

I've played this game several times, and it is really fun!! It's way better than Guitar Hero, because you have a whole band of participants (but there is also a solo mode). It really gets everyone involved, and it's nice when you don't have to just sit there and watch one person play the game. We took it along on a trip and had everyone playing for 4 hours! The only thing is that I wish there were more songs and more well known artists, it could use The Eagles "Hotel California", lol. Well worth it!!

Since buying this game as a valentine's gift for my boyfriend, we have had two rock band parties and everyone had a great time! Not only that, but I got the game within a week of when I ordered it! Great experiences all around :)
