Awsomely fun game, and with the addition of the hacking engine, and the way it weaves in and out of the movies it is definatly worth it for any matrix fan. You WILL find the white rabbit :)

Welcome to the real world.

This is the game of the year. Big words, yes, but very true. If you didn't believe me let me inform of these great things they included inside this game. The actors and actresses' real voices, over an hour of original full-motion video made exucluisly for the game, you know kung-fu like Neo, an original story written by the great Wachoscki brothers, Andy and Larry, and great A.I. In the immortal words of Neo..."Whoa." Oh yeah and an ingenious hacking game. ... One bad thing I regret to say the devolpers have failed to do is let you control your favorite character from the original Matrix film such as Neo, Trinity, or Morpheous. But you play as Niobe or Ghost whose missions differ from each other. For an example, Niobe drives a car through heavy traffic to find the nearest telephone to escape the Matrix while Ghost provides backup with artillity to shoot agents and the police. As you can tell the brothers took a long time to make this game. Once this game hits the market the way we look at movie-inspired games will change such as when the Matrix made us look at sci-fi movies differently. Tomorrow, I'll be sitting in the Matrix theater and than going to my house to play the game to complete the plot. Thank you Atari, Wachoski brothers, all the actors and actresses, Warner Bros., and the executive producer who passed the producter. My final grade:A+.

Great to Rent, Bad to buy

Its a shame that this couldn't be a better game. Don't get me wrong, in many ways it is fantastic. The action is most of the time very fast and furious, the bullet-time focus mode is great, and the endless killing never gets boring. So whats not to love? Plenty. I'll list my biggest complaints in no particular order.

1) You mean to tell me that the special effects studios and producers that created the two most defining special effects packed movies of our generation couldn't come up with better graphics than this? Please. The 3rd-person character graphics are decent, but the textures, lighting, and background graphics are dismally bland. The worst, however, are the character renderings in the in-game cutscenes. At times they reminded me of Nintendo 64 days.

2) Although the concept of intertwining the storyline of reloaded with Enter the Matrix is very cool, they really don't pull it off very well at all. The first half of the game really doesn't have a story-line at all, with your character just traveling from random location to random location killing people. Eventually it starts to make a little more sense, but not until you're into the second disc.

3) Worse ending ever. The game ends after the hands-down [worst] level in the game, and the ending cinematic is just as [bad].

4) I beat the entire game in probably about 10 hours total play time. And I'm not a hardcore gaming looney, its just that easy.

Sorry for the long post, but after beating it, I had to express my disapointment. Like an earlier poster said, rent this game and you'll enjoy it, buy it and you'll wish you'd bought 10 passes to see the movie.

There is only one way to Enter the Matrix...

The story is the same you all know... The story covered in The Matrix and Matrix Reloaded movies.. They tell that we live in a simulation, a world controled by a computer. And people tell that there's one man who can change the rules of the Matrix (that's how our world is called), such as gravity. Once they discover, they free this guy's mind, and he's called The One, he's Neo... They say while the Matrix exists, the human race will never be free.. And Neo is the one who shall destroy the Matrix.. But the path of the One is made by many.. If the others fail, the One will fail.. And, in this game, you are two of this "others": Ghost and Niobe.
- Graphics: This aren't the best ever, but they're still good.. The characters look realistic, but some backgrounds are just lame, such as in the Sewers part, they just make me sick.. It's cool that when you kick things in the background such as books, they fall; when you shoo the walls, you see that the bullets were hitting there and this kind of stuff... Pretty good.
- Sound: This is almost perfect, except that they are always the same and you get sick of it sometimes, when you play the game for a long time. The voice acting is great, because they are directly from the actors from Matrix Reloaded. The soundtrack is from the Matrix Reloaded too, and there are some pretty good songs in the credits.
- Fun: If you are a Matrix fun, you'll feel great to be Ghost and Niobe, fight people that Neo fighted in the movie, fight Trinity as Ghost (you can't play as Neo, Trinity or Morpheus) and this kind of stuff. For the rest of the people, this game just won't be that fun... Even for us, fans, it gets boring in some parts... The movements are cool.. Walk through walls, incredible kicks and everything... And you see some things that happened behind Neo's path... One of the best things is the multiplayer mode, hidden in the Hacking mode... The hacking mode itself is great, and you can find lots of guides around there... In the multiplayer mode you can play as Morpheus, Trinity and some game bosses... In the first movie's (Dojo, which is the Kung-Fu arena in The Matrix; and the Subway Station, where Neo and Smith fight in The Matrix) and the game's scenaries (all the others). And that's not all you can do in the Hacking mode.. You can also open a new level, a new weapon and lots of pics! But it's not easy to get all of that!
- Educative: There are some bad words in this game (which is no big deal). There is also a part in the game where a woman kisses another woman (no big deal either), and there is violence (kicks and this kind of thing). It's OK for everyone, in my opinion...
Overall, worth a buy if you are a Matrix fan, if you're not, just worth a rent... But there is only one way to be inside the Matrix, one way to fight Agents and walk through walls.. Just playing this game.

In Enter the Matrix, you can play as two people: Niobe (a girl) or Ghost (a boy). If you want to be good with guns your best bet is Ghost. If you want to be good at martial arts yo should choose Niobe. Niobe and Ghost have two differnt "quests." If you look at the entire game, they have about 6-7 levels that are the same out of 50+. Enter the Matrix isn't the best game ever, but once you start to play, you can't put the controler down for anything. Heres the bottom line:

Concept: Take one of the best movies of all time and make an awsome game out of it

Graphics: Not the best that I've but much better than some others (SW: Bounty Hunter, Sonic Heroes, Madden, etc.) 8/10

Sound: Gun shots sort of muffled. Voiceovers are quiet at some times (can be fixed by simply turning up the volume) 9/10

Controls: No real problems on Gamecube (BAD on Xbox) 10/10

Fun Factor: As fun as watching the original Matrix 10 times in a row 10/10

Replay value: The lower levels never get old. The higher ones are good for a few times through. 9/10

Overall: Who wouldn't want a game based on The Matrix? Even if this game had Teletubbies in place of Ghost and Niobe, this game would still rock. 9.5/10

this game is awesome, but like all games it has its flaws. its a combo (of in my mind) nightfire/agent under fire (they were practically the SAME thing) and splinter cell, the fighting is great even though they didn't make enough moves but its better than in splinter cell, the shooting part is pretty good as well but, well let's put it this way, they should have waited an extra week to add some [stuff] but thats ok. I happen to like fighting much better.
Gameplay - 9.0 (can seem a lil repetitive at times)
Graphics - 8.5 (for GC its kinda pathetic but compared to
PS1 or 2 it's marvelous)
Controls - 8.8 (takes some getting used to)
How long lasting - 8.9 (due to the repetitiveness at times)
Overall - 10.0
Not to worry parents this has no SERIOUSLY bad violence thats gunna make your kid be the cause of "columbine 2"

Really good

Enter the Matrix was definitely worth the wait. I bought this game the day it came out, like a lot of people. The graphics are great, and different from any other game I've played. What makes them so unique is, of course, the ability to go into bullet mode, automatic weapon lock, 3rd/1st person mode, and different angles of viewing the action. The game is a little short even on hard mode, nothing like Metroid Prime or Zelda: The Windwaker. But it's easily entertaining enough to make up for it.

The game can get tough though the first few levels are easy. The 2 playable characters, Niobe and Ghost, have different missions but still cohere to the same level and objective, which makes for excellent replay value.

This game is nothing like any previous James Bond game, Splinter cell, Metal Gear Solid, or Max Payne. There are too many hand to hand combos to count. Run on or up walls, dodge bullets, jump, flip, or do a cartwheel while shooting. punch, kick, fly at a locked enemy.

I, and many other people im sure, find an additional challenge in this game by trying to master combos in order to make it look like the movie. The director and designers of the game definitely lived up to expectations.

Possibly the best game I have ever played

Enter The Matrix is worth the money. If you are worried about it not being as great as the movie, dont be. It Created by the Wachowski brothers, the writers and directors of the Matrix trilogy. Anyways, I give the graphics five stars! Up close their faces look incredible. The bullet time mode is awsome, dodgen bullets is just plane fun. the controls are set up perfictly, by the time you start, you'll fell like The One, ya know, NEO. This game has it all, from insane martial arts, to driving, and a great 3rd person shooter. Now, in this game the only playable charecters are Niobe and Ghost. Both who are in Matrix Reloded and Matrix Revolutions. you can use either of them to play the game. each one has some diffrent missions, some intertwine, like driving missions, when you plas as Niobe you are always the driver, as Ghost you shoot the bad guys, pretty simple. Whell, thats it five stars, this is a gotta have game. Thank you for reading my review, Now, go save Zion.
