Official Synopsis:
IN THE WAR TO SAVE ZION, WHAT PART WILL YOU PLAY?
Unparralleeled fil collaboration results in a true Matrix experience.
Exclusive film footage from the creators of the Matrix trilogy.
Battle alongside the original motion picture cast from The Matrix Reloaded.

My thoughts:
Enter The Matrix is an excellent video game for many reasons. One of those reasons is that it weaves in and out of the movie, The Matrix Reloaded. Another reason is the awesome gameplay it brings you. You can run up walls, dodge bullets in bullet time, and have a wide armistice of martial arts at your fingertips. Basically, it's all the action of The Matrix Reloaded on your Gamecube. But if you play this, and you see an Agent, then RUN. They're unbeatable. I highly reccommend this game of the year nominee. It's available on all three next-gen consoles, and if you haven't played it yet, do it. After all, THE MATRIX HAS YOU.

Enter the Matrix RULES

In Enter the Matrix, you can play as two people: Niobe (a girl) or Ghost (a boy). If you want to be good with guns your best bet is Ghost. If you want to be good at martial arts yo should choose Niobe. Niobe and Ghost have two differnt "quests." If you look at the entire game, they have about 6-7 levels that are the same out of 50+. Enter the Matrix isn't the best game ever, but once you start to play, you can't put the controler down for anything. Heres the bottom line:

Concept: Take one of the best movies of all time and make an awsome game out of it

Graphics: Not the best that I've but much better than some others (SW: Bounty Hunter, Sonic Heroes, Madden, etc.) 8/10

Sound: Gun shots sort of muffled. Voiceovers are quiet at some times (can be fixed by simply turning up the volume) 9/10

Controls: No real problems on Gamecube (BAD on Xbox) 10/10

Fun Factor: As fun as watching the original Matrix 10 times in a row 10/10

Replay value: The lower levels never get old. The higher ones are good for a few times through. 9/10

Overall: Who wouldn't want a game based on The Matrix? Even if this game had Teletubbies in place of Ghost and Niobe, this game would still rock. 9.5/10

Great Game, Graphics A Little Poor

I got this game a couple of weeks ago, the day after "the matrix reloaded" came out. I was very excited about the game, considering that I really enjoyed the movie. I popped in the disk, and the game started up pretty quickly, no probloms there. I picked Ghost as the main character ( you get to pick either Niobe or Ghost as the char. that you control, and both have some unique levels that the other does not). I began to play, and was immediatly hooked. The fighting is amazing, it's third person, but it rocks! With the L button you can toggle bullet-time, you slow down, and you can walk on walls, dodge bullets, and do almost every move that you see in the movies. This game does have a multi-player, contray to what the box, you get to have 1 on 1 battles with major characters, like Agent Smith and Morpheas, but you get to do it with another person.

Pros:

Great fighting
Lots of levels
Over an hour of actual footage
Interesting hacking system (hack in new moves, solve binary codes, chat with neo, etc.)

Cons:

Computer animated cutsceens a cheesy, not that big of a deal
Is too easy at times (but that can be solved with HARD instead of NORMAL)
Don't get to control Neo, Morpheas, or Trinity in one player

Overall great game, a must have for any Matrix fan or GC game collection

Stay Tuned for An Incredible license!!

There is little doubt that this is going to be one of the top games of 2003. The December 2002 Game Informer Magazine gave this a full-length feature, and it left little doubt that this is going to be a powerhouse game. Enter the Matrix is being developed with a close collaborative effort between gaming industry and Hollywood so that they can create a game experience "as rewarding as the movie."

There will be ultra-realistic character movements with the over 4,000 motion captures performed and encoded into the game. We are promised over 200 minutes of in-game cinematics and voices from the actors of the film including Keanu Reeves (bless his heart). You can play as Niobe or Ghost, and you play along side characters from the first movie (Neo and Morpeus). Screen shots look promising with plenty of special effects. Unless the something goes terribly wrong between now and the release of this game, we can expect ONE AWESOME GAME!

I was privy to the ENTER THE MATRIX premiere and game launch in Hollywood, and had the chance to play 3 levels of the game on all three consoles. As a gamer and a Matrix fan, I was thoroughly pleased. The graphics and story are fantastic, but that was to be expected. What was jaw dropping was the fighting engine, including a fantastically rendered bullet-time feature you can toggle during the action. Honestly, the game could have no links to any film, and still be a 5-star game.

Great game

I bought this game right before I saw the movie on the first day it came out, and both of them were awesome. Theres hardly anything wrong with this game. The coolest aspect is when you focus(slow down time or bullet time) and you can run up walls, dodge bullets, or jump long distances. Another thing thats great about it is the graphics, they look perfect. The kung fu is great, and you can also do moves that are like the game "Splinter cell". For instance, if you walk behind someone you can choke them, or disarm them. Its the little things like that, that make this game good. The only thing thats a little leary is the driving...shooting is fun, but the driving is little hard to do. If you are thinking about renting the game, dont...you should buy this game because its well worth your money. It has lots of replay value also because you can either play as ghost or niobi. There are also they difficulty settings, and lastly, its 2 discs. You need to play this game to get the full feel of the matrix!

The most acclaimed game 4 the Gamecube

Ever since Super Smash Bros. Melee, gamecube has been a hit for adults and children alike...xbox and ps2 have had more games and more online games, so they have risen high above the skies...and gamecube sits on the floor, but, they have come back with the newest game: Enter the Matrix, by Atari. Though it is for all 3 consoles, and the PC as well, Gamecube is by far the best out of all the editions. The controls are extremely easy because of its sleek controller, but, its graphics are slightly off in the movie-clips of the game, but when your playing, the graphics are much better...yet, you dont even care when your playin this game...it has a style of gaming i have never seen before, its like roleplaying games like zelda, with the added feature of Metal-Gear Solid 2, its almost like real, and with the driving, it adds a small part of Driver 2. Its like all in one. You should get it. Add, to top it off, after beating the game once, your not done, theres still the other person. So, you'll have a great time playing...l8r days!!

At the begining you pick either Ghost or Niobe to play through the story as. One of my favorite things is that, after you get use to all the normal fighting moves and shooting stuff, you still have the Focus button to play with. Focusing bends the rules of the matrix and gives you character super human speed and strenght, for a limited time. Your focus and Health recharge if you stand still for a moment, which is cool. Plus, There's exclusive footage filmed for the game only, which replaces a lot of what would be Computer animated CutScenes, but not all.

Now, I could go on, but I wouldn't want to anger those of you that like to go into a video game blind, skiping all cutscenes, to get to the game and play on hard-mode, and not have a clue why your doing what your doing. If you arent one of those people, please read the strategy guide. It has a lot of useful info, especialy on the Hacking System...

This is one wonderful game that any gamer should get. I'll have to break it down because I don't know how to say everything in a comment.

* Graphics - The characters are rendered to look compleatly real, but corners where cut when it comes to some of the less used environments, are blocky or bland.

* Sound - Rich and loud, but it can get tiring as there's only two musics for each type of level. The cool thing about this is that when there are no threats the music rebeverts to the softer part of the Matrix Song, but when enemies a flawless trasistion into the louder Matix Music that makes your heart pound. And there's a seperate song and change in the other types of levels too. The Music in the first driving level is amazing when it switches to a rock and roll style when the Police Crusers pop up.

* GamePlay - Amazing in the way that it encompasses fighting, exploration, shooting, and all those into one experince. From Focus-Diving into a Military Swat with a Machine gun blazing, or blowing out the tires off an air plane miles off with a sniper rifle.

* Controls - They meld perfectly with the way you'd move as a Matrix character. They only take the first level or so to get use to. And there are no camera controls other than switch to first-person and back. The camera is always right over your sholder, so your never blinded by an anoying object that gets between the camera and Niobe/Ghost.

Overall Rating - "Must Buy"

ENTER THE MATRIX is an awesome game where you get to defy gravity, watch flying bullets zoom through the air while you're in slow-motion, do awesome tricks, and kick butt with martial art moves. It's everything an action game could ask for. THe controls are easy to master and the levels are fun but sometimes short. A cool game.
