Rocks!

Please kindly tell me. Is there any game that has better graphics than DOA3. Plus, this has wonderful, addictive gameplay that keeps people (like me) up all night long. This is a must buy!

A show off game

This game looks awesome. It makes other game's blocky graphics look terrible. Games like GTA Vice City have really bad graphics with their block hand characters compaired to this one. DOA3 shows what can really be done with the graphics if the developers want.
The game itself plays well and is beatable by average players like me on the easy level - almost too easy. I didn't understand the boss character, but I also don't know any of the back story.
I would recommend this game as the fighter to get for Xbox - for the great gameplay and to show off the graphics to your friends.

Not The Deepest Fighter, But It Sure Is Pretty!

Let me get this out of the way, DoA is GORGEOUS! Moving on, DoA is a good buy for your X-Box, if not for the fighting, at least for the graphics! If you have never played a DoA game before and are expecting anything close to Soul Calibur or Virtua Fighter, be warned. While DoA is a great game for button mashers and first-time players, it leaves little for the TRUE fighting game enthusiasts to bite on. After the initial shock of the eye-melting visuals subsides, you are not left with much. The fighters are hollow and don't have nearly as much attacks as other fighting games. That said, the game's reversal system is extremely smooth and satisfying, though much too easy when it comes to timing the counters. The reversal system is based more on luck than actual skill, decreasing the game's longterm value. The sound is equally hollow and is made up of lifeless grunts and yells. Being the fighting game player that I am, I am very strict about how complex I want games to be and my expectations are high. But for the casual fighting game players, add another star to my score and buy the game. The graphics alone are reason enough to purchase this game and show your friends why X-Box is the UNDESPUTED champion when compared to the other consoles!

DOA3-NOT A BUTTON MASHER

DOA3 is not a button masher. At least not if you play it enough to realize that it does take some skill-and that you can develope a knowledge of what your character is capable of doing, and how to execute the moves. I"ve been playing DOA2 and DOA3 for a while, and its easy to see that it isn't a button masher for anyone who has played it for longer than 2 days. Buy this game. The graphics are incredible, the characters much better than DOA2, and the sound is decent. (Although I think the game could be much improved if it had the option of custom soundtracks). All I have to say is DOA3 is not just a "button masher" and this game is strategic and fun..

A Little More Serious Fighting Game

If you're looking for an arcade-style fighting game...go buy Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, but if you're looking for a more technical, complex fighting game, this game is for you.

This game TRULY demonstrates the Xbox's power in every sense. The combination of excellent graphics, a VERY realistic fighting engine, great sound, and a variety of fighting modes make this the first choice in Xbox fighting games; but relatively short story mode and little bonus options keep this game from being king of fighting games.

Graphics-5 out of 5: absolutely outstanding, period. Beautiful fighting environments, terrific character design and animation (yes, there ARE scantily clad women), and impressive cinemas make this the best looking fighting game I've ever seen.

Sound-5 out of 5: brutal fighting sounds and good music compile the game's soundtrack, every character has it's own theme music, and for Aerosmith fans, there're a couple of songs featured in the game, which you can hear at the sound options.

Control-4 out of 5: some of the combos are a bit complex and require coordinated button presses, and moving is a bit awkward, but after a little while, you'll be beating people (virtual people, that is) like a true martial artist.

Fun-4 out of 5: lack of more bonus options and some control issues are the only aspects which keep the game from being perfect, but those seeking an excellent fighting game, buy Dead Or Alive 3, I'll guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Better then Tekken

I first played DOA 2 on DreamCast and it totaly blew me away. Sure the story is short and you can bet the game in 15 minutes. But thats not the point. Come on! Tekken is the same way. This game was made mostly for 2 player fights not the story. Comparing this to all other fighting games I give this one five stars and give Tekken three stars. This game is by far the best fighter game yet. The Best part of the game is the fighting stages all other games got some catching up to do!

This game really shows off the X-Box's graphics. If you have X-Box I would definetly recomend getting this game. The graphics are great and the setting really make the game look better. If you don't really like fighting games maybe you should just rent it first. I hope my review helped!! This is a great game.

Not bad, but I've seen better.

I was sadly drawn back by this game, the graphics are sweet, the controls rock as always, the girls are beautiful (the guys aren't as well put together) but it lacks improvement from DOA2:Hardcore for PS2, I bought an xbox mainly for the new DOA games but 3 basically took the same system from DOA2, made the controls a bit more (harder) pressure sensitive, and made the graphics a smidge better, If you're not a collector and don't mind missing a part in the series, get DOA:Untimate, same costumes in DOA3, better graphics, same controls as DOA3, the female models were taken directly from the improved DOA Xtreme beach volleyball (another good game) and put to action, however, being a semi collector with over 64 PS2/XBOX games, this was still worth the full $20 but if you got $50 get ultimate, it's worth all it charges, or DOA:XBV Is a really good choice if you like easy but fun, or got sick of fighting and need to wind down (the music and gameplay is really slow paced and relaxing) at only $16 used it's a good buy, of all the Xbox DOA games, this one is the worst, but far from bad.
