Immersive, Entrancing, Engrossing Cyberpunk Game

If you like open ended game play, futuristic settings, rpg's that challenge your emotions or sense of morality, drop what you are doing, set your OOTO message on your phone and email, and RUN to get this game. This is a fantastic game! Are the graphics good? Yup. Does it have the now almost prerequisite stealth action elements? Check. Phillip K. Dick sensibility? U huh! What makes this game fantastic? I'd be hard pressed to focus on any one thing, really. It all just comes together so beautifully. I like that the game gives you more than 1 proper way to due a task. For example, for me to take the "Transcender" to Upper Seattle, I had to decontaminate the area to the elevator. I could do this by finding a trapped worker and getting the access code to the robot bay from him, I could get to the emergency panel and run the decontamination program, etc. Some of the side missions are also fun. The proprietor of a coffee shop may ask you to ransack his opponent's coffee supply in order to drum up more business, or some aliens may ask you to collect some dna evidence of a mutant being kept in a nightclub basement, for the payoff of cheaper prices on their black market bio mods or weapons, etc. The game never feels like your typical fed ex missions that alot of rpg's fall into. The story is absolutely engrossing. You will be introduced to different factions:
the WTO (basically THE multinational corporation) that will give you access to prosperity in exchange for a loss of privacy, the Order, a zealous back to nature pseudo religious group, and the Tarsus corp, who created you and implanted bio mods in you but for what purpose ...

For fans of Blade Runner & Ghost in the Shell

About 18.5 hours of gameplay. Very dynamic. Begs to be played multiple times. Story changes based on who you kill/save/quests etc. Biomod system is a unique RPG system. Game is very cyberpunk and recalls Phillip K Dicks writings and the movies based off his books such as Blade Runner, Minority Report, Imposter, Paycheck. Also has lots of Ghost in the Shell type stuff. Frame-rate could be better. Check it out if you are a cyberpunk fan!!!!!

I played the first Deus Ex a few months back, and I was instantly addicted. So naturally when I heard Deus Ex 2 was coming out I bought it. After playing the first Deus Ex , there was so much I was expecting the 2nd Deus Ex to be like. And for the most part, Deus Ex Invisible War matched up with how I was expecting it to be. Deus Ex I.W. had better graphics then the 1st game, a better inventory, better voicing, it had a non-linear plot like the first one, all in all good, but, the game was way to short. Even with all the side missions you can choose to do the game ended to quickly. When I reached the last part of the game, I felt like I was mid way through the game. For a comparison(If you have played the first Deus Ex) I felt like I was at the part where you are searching for Tracer Tong In Japan. Don't think I am saying this game is bad, because it is a fun game, but it doesn't match the 1st one.

Good Times!!

I had such a blast playing this game. The graphics are outstanding, even though it's a few years old. There's a lot you can do in the game with mods. You can choose to go the clean route, or go with black market mods that are outlawed. You decide who gets to rule the world and win in the end. Your allegiances can change at any given moment, and the whole world will be with you or after you! I've played it over twice now, and will probably do it again. Not a hard game if you're up for a challenge, but it's great fun!!

Deus Ex: Invisible War, is a combination first-person-shooter and role-playing game in one. You can interact with NPCs and select choices on what to respond and you can also go around shooting with weapons. Deus Ex has a lot of free-form gameplay; you can do whatever you want whenever you want, allowing you lots of freedom in gameplay and letting you pick your game style. You can be peaceful and not fight at all, by using stealth and sneaking around or you can fight with guns and knives. You can collect many gadgets and weaponry and you decide how to use them allowing you to improvise. Let me give you an example: you have to get on a train at the terminal, you have several choices at your disposal: you can pay for a train ticket, OR you can kill the ticket seller, OR you can steal the ticket by sneaking into a air duct! It's this type of openess that makes the game so much fun! You will have many ways of approaching things.

Pros:
+free-form gameplay
+excellent graphics
+excellent ambient music
+good controls
+lots of weapons
+cool abilities/ biomods
+lots of gadgets
+excellent voice acting
+good story
+role playing game
+first-person-shooter
+stealth/cloak
+interactive world/objects
+futuristic worlds
+challanges your mind

Cons:
-very hard game
-biomods have limited energy
-weapons lack punch
-short levels
-long loading times

I can forgive many of its negative points because this game is a masterpiece! You should defintely get it if you like role-playing games, first-person-shooters or games with a science fiction theme because all of the above are included.

I should first mention that I never played the original, and so a few things were a bit confusing at first... but I quickly learned what I needed to know.

As far as storyline goes, the storyline is intricate and really makes you think. You have many missions that you can choose to do or to ignore. As you progress, you continually get sucked into the growing storyline.

As far as game play is concerned, it is kinda similar to Knights of the Old Republic because you can choose what missions to do, you choose which side you are on (and you can't be sure which is the "good" or "evil" side). It is all first person, and so you don't really level up or anything, so you know that you could defeat anybody if they attack. There is a decent range of weapons that are rather unique. One complaint is that all your weapons use the same ammo, so it is much easier to run out. If you are careful, this will not be a problem.
