unforgivable bugs won't make me penalize this great game too much

here, now the bug issue is out of the way
the game is awesome. This is the most gripping story and best rendered real world I have ever seen (and I play TONS of games, trust me). you have to play this game even if you will curse the programmers for not finishing it. I need more 1st persone RPGS! Aaargh! Last but not least, and possibly the most important factor in judging a game, I almost never had to use a cheat!! Now that is the sign of a great game (unlike KOTOR which is also way too long). enjoy

A lot of fun, with a few irritating bugs

This game reminds me of one of my favorites - the original Deus Ex. You get to build up your character's skills and powers by spending XP, so you can choose how you prefer to approach the missions: sneaking around, talking your way in, or just smashing everything in sight.
The game looks very good, but some of the environmental effects slow the framerate to a crawl, and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn them off. Fortunately, this only comes into play in a few places. I also had to restart the game a few times when a critical interaction didn't work.
All in all, though, this is a must for anyone who enjoys FPS and RPG games.

Starts great, but the end is lacking

Bloodlines starts off strong, but seems to run out of steam about two-thirds of the way through. Don't get me wrong - most of the game was great fun, but it seems like the developers ran out of energy, ideas, or something towards the end, resulting in most of the end game being a repetitive hackfest. This is also noticeable in the way later NPCs seem less developed than earlier ones. While this is a good game, I came away feeling disappointed that it wasn't better.

Good points:
Excellent writing, a strong story line, memorable NPCs
Entertaining side quests (early in the game)
Great voice acting

Bad points:
The last part of the game turns into a hackfest
Lack of "polish" - lots of minor bugs, typos, etc.
A couple of levels that are basically filler

Unlike any other RPGs

This game is unlike any rpg you've played or heard about. It's a cross between an RPG, hack & slash, and 1st person shooter game. The 1st and 3rd person mode give's this game a great feel to it. If you play with the music/sound loud enough in an environment with no other noises, you might just get scared. You don't know what's gonna jump out at you around the corner. It's quite thrilling. It's story draws you in and keeps you wanting more. It is a little buggy, but that doesn't affect the gameplay, it barely scratches it.

Best game of all time it needs a sequel

This is my favourite game of all time, its a game you can play over and over again due to the different endings you can get depending on your decisions. Also you are able to pick a character to build on over the game from one of the 7 clans which most of them give a quite different game play. Only negatives are this game really needs the patches downloaded off the net, they are all free and make the game run smoothly as you can have game crashes like i've never experienced with any other game. 5 star ++ game

Buggy, but great

I chose not to buy this game when it was originally released, since there was no demo available and reviewers tended to complain about the bugs and lack of polish. Now that it's pretty cheap, and being the FPS-role-playing fan that I am, I picked it up. I definitely don't regret it.

VTMB casts you in the shoes of a fledgling vampire whose "sire," or creator, is executed for creating you without authorization. From there, you are thrown into the politics and intrigue of White Wolf's modern vampire universe, and it's a thrilling ride. The characters and dialogue in VTMB are extremely high quality, perhaps exceeding the quality of earlier games such as Deus Ex, to which VTMB is often compared. The voice acting, especially, is some of the best I've heard in a game.

The combat system is not particularly well-implemented here, but I've found that it hardly detracts from my enjoyment of this deep, engrossing game. The graphics, too, are not stellar by modern standards - they are of somewhat lower quality than the original Half Life 2 release.

There are also plenty of unofficial patches that are said to "improve" the game in various ways, though I have not installed any of them yet. Maybe for a second play-through.

Despite these complaints, if you're a fan of games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Deus Ex, or System Shock 2, I would highly recommend picking this one up. I haven't laughed at a game's humor or been pulled in by a game as VTMB has done for me in quite some time. It's a classic.

I bougjt this game for my 17 yr. old son & it has been a very good game for his age, not for younger children.

FUN Game.. BAD Glitches!

This is a very entertaining game but it's filled with all sorts of annoying glitches. It got to the point where I just stopped caring to play because I knew from reading a few articles that once I got to a certain point in the game, I wouldn't be able to continue because of a really bad glitch. There are patches you can download online to fix some of the glitches but it doesn't help them all. It's sad because this game has potential and it's predecessor was very entertaining but I just can't get past all the issues with the glitches.

Better than I expected!

This game has me hooked. I just can't wait to play more to advance the storyline.

There is a haunted house quest early on in this game that I found to be one of the best I have ever encountered in a video game. It made me jump in my seat more than once.

There are a lot of fun side quests to keep one busy, too.

I especially enjoy going back to my apartment and hearing about my characters latest 'antics' on the evening news.
