Better than all other Racing games

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 2

This games is the best!Listen Reviewer:gamer how can you say that SGT02 mode is a big mistake. You start out with a 13,000 doller car, because you cant just hop to the top you have to earn your money, prizes and cars buy upgrading your cars you own, even if you only have one car.The graphics, sound, feel, look are amazing. And gamer you can buy cars and win cars all the way through sega GT mode so that means you can sell those cars to buy a new high paformance car. This game is positivly worth it.

Fun At First....

The game is a lot of fun at first but after two days or so, it gets really boring. The racetracks are pretty much all the same and after a few hours of playing, you get sick of seeing the same one over and over again. The graphics are kind of good but definitely not anything to gush over. And in Sega GT 2002 mode, what is the deal with the lack of complete specs on cars? One car pretty much drives like the next anyway (with a few minor differences) so I guess that doesn't really matter. After a while, you really don't care enough to keep playing. I'd rent this one from a video store, have fun with it for a few days and then return it because it definitely is not worth having on any consistent basis.

A Somewhat half-done game

One of the greatest components of this game is of course the graphics of the cars. I must admit that the cars were well done.
Controls are fairly simple though it may take some getting used to. You can select your own BGM from recorded music you have saved on your xbox.

However there are a few downsides to this game. The roads are decent enough, but with other things such as the people and the backround, the graphics are poor. There are not alot of things you can do on this game. Indeed the only other gameplay mode that makes sense besides the main gameplay- Sega Gt 2002- is the Quick Battle mode, where you can just practice racing against other cars or another player. The actual gameplay itself is kind of silly. When you first start out with a new game the cars operate pretty much like they would in reality; but as you gain money, buy faster cars, upgrade your parts, and get to harder stages, it becomes unrealistic. For example, you could have a car with 500 horsepower and a CPU car could have 299 horse power but they seem to go unrealistically fast and can turn sharp curves at an amazing speed. They seem not to care whether they live or die. They'll crash right into you going nearly 200 mph just to get ahead, while you slide off somewhere into the dirt or a wall. You could be an inch away from a wall and other cars will try to squeeze through and hit you taking away your damage meter making them seem like mindless drunk drivers; but their car and yours alike will stay shiny and untouched, so to speak.
If you like a racing game where the driving is mindless and the tracks pretty much look the same with minor differences then I suggest Sega Gt 2002.

stop your bitching about the 13k!

i thought that this was a really good game. it has great handling and is fun to drive. i cant believe there are people complaining about being given 13k to start off with. its a decent amount of money and youll be able to get a good car. i got a fiat punto ant it was allright because after a couple of races you can beef it up and then youll be able to beet them all. games arent meant to be easy and if your complaining about that you wont beat many

Sega GT 2002 is totally fun. I was originally bummed GT3 didnt come for XBOX. Once I got my new XBOX bundle system that quickly changed! This game is totally awesome....a tad frustrating a times. You need to make sure you choose a good car to start the game or you'll never get anywhere. Some cheap cars are too junky and they break a lot. Once you get the hand of it, the possibilities are endless! Another awesome thing about the game is that I can use my own soundtrack on the game. I recorded the new Linkin Park CD on my xbox and now I have Linking Park blasting when I race!!! AWESOME!!

This game is looking good. With over 120 cars, and 4 modes of play, this is a possible rival of Gran Turismo 3. I hope it doesn't turn out like Rallisport.

great game

For those of you thinking that xbox finally has an answer to GT3, they don't. The game isn't all bad and does offer a few thing I hope to see in the next GT, but for the most part this game just doesn't do it for the GT fan. First off, the driving is more unrealistic than most games put on the easiest arcade level. It is actually harder to lose control of the car than to hold perfect lines. Second, the parts you buy for the car have to be "unlocked" before you can buy them. Yes, most parts you can buy right away, but others you have to wait for. Then, once you buy the parts, you have practically no fine tuning capabilities. Yes you can increase your boost or adjust your camber, but what about fine tuning your gears...nope. You just get to chose between close or wide gears. There are several more annoyances like the fact that the game is to easy and you have to do all adjustments to the car before you head out to the track. Actually, the list of problems would take to long to go over so I'll just switch to the good.

I like the fact that damage to the car takes away money you win in the race. I also like that fact that your tires don't last forever and that you have to replace them every few races. Last, you can set the price you want to get for a car you are going to sell. Not that you will always get that price, but it's a cool feature.

All in all, I probably would have liked the game had I not known what a racing simulation game is suppose to be like.
