better but too short

This game improves on alot of the errors from the first gameand ads alot more. 8 missions will take about 2 hrs to beat, but since I got it for 15 bucks it was worth it. I dont have time to sit around for hrs on end playing on Live so I cant really give this game a higher rating do to its lack of single player missions.

Best Squad Based Jungle Warfare Game Out There

ok first off i would like to say that this is one of my most favorite games for X-box next to Halo. The storyline is the best but what do you expect with it being from Tom Clancy. The graphics though have very much stayed the same but they are still very good. The best quality of this game is its Online capability. you can download new multiplayer maps or play with some of the best Ghosts out there. If you own the first one i strongly suggest you buy this one or even if you don't own the first its a must buy. But Be prepared to spend hours on just strategising where to advance your men. This game is very difficult. Also there is a new feature if you have the X-Box Live pack you can say orders to your men on where to go and where to shoot!!! So what are you waiting for go buy this game.

Like i said good first person shooter but to short only 8 missions unlike the original one with 15 missions but other than that the graphics are ***** stars. the replayability is good to with quick mission option.Better than Socom 1 and 2 so I think this game is pretty fun but challenging.

Great Game!

This game is awesome. I hated the first Ghost Recon game because I played all the older Clancy games like Rogue Spear. This game is so much better than the first Ghost Recon. The multiplayer is fun I just wish you could do more than 2 players. Buy this one.

First and for most...BEST GAME EVER for xbox live play. This game was so good on SO many levels. The single player campaign was fun...not insanely great, but fun...."ghost recon fun." This is one of those games that is truly addicting and, in its day, got plenty of Xbox Live play. This game was actually the reason I signed up for an Xbox Live account, and without it, who knows what I'd be playing today.

Okay, so, in its time, this game had pretty good graphics. You look back at them now and they don't look too hot, but when it first came out it was awesome. Other than that, I think the best thing about this game was its multiplayer aspects. Not only were the maps great, but all the different modes of play were great. I remember when this game was popular, SO many people played it, and it was obvious why. Another great thing about this game is the fact that it is a very tactical shooter and not so run and gun like most FPS games out on the market today. Overall, this game is great and even today it stands up as a great shooter. If more people played on Live (well, any at all) I think I might find myself playing this game quite a bit!

9.0 Presentation
This game was presented very well. The menus were very easy to use and were pretty clean cut and simple - GREAT! Doing things like joining games and checking friends list was never a hassle.

8.0 Graphics
Back when this game came out, the graphics of this game were very good. I think if I were judging the graphics in todays world, I would score them pretty low, because, obviously, they don't stand up.

7.0 Sound
The sound effects and music in the game were good. They seemed to fit the game and mood and were good in its time. Overall...pretty good!

9.0 Gameplay
This game played SO well and the fact that it stayed "tactical" makes it even better. I loved the gameplay over Xbox Live and its multiplayer aspects were fantastic.

10 Lasting Appeal
In its day, this game was played SO much that it definately had lasting appeal. I "over"played this game until the day GR2 came out (which wasn't that great) and finally Halo 2 took over my life!!!

Ghost Recon: Island thunder

Ghost Recon is a good game but in both Ghost Recon and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder there were only about eight levels. This is very frustrating because you finish the game very quickly. I do not recomend buying this item.

A new Game ?

Having just received the game and having played all the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six, Ghost recon Games before on the PC it was what I expected, this is just my type of game but I was a bit disappointed, having no XBox live function, living in the middle east thats a luxury, I only had the one player mode which I expect leaves out about 50% of the features, I was still disappointed as there were only 18 tasks to complete unlike Ghost Recon original where there were 50. Still I enjoyed playing the game, having to discover all the maps and a few new weapons, the graphics are good and having a surround system juts adds to the effect. I am now busily trying to break out all the specialists, hopefully there will be lots of new weapons and characters there, have only found one new character out of 4 so far. Looking forward to Rainbow 6 (3) for a totally new experience in the Tom Clancy series, hopefully I will have finihsed Island Thunder by the time it is released.

Could have been a great game except for always crashing

What a shame that's all I can say. This could have been a really good game, but even worse than the original ghost recon, this game will literally crash several times each mission, and the only way to get through a mission is to constantly save each step along the way... making the game an incredible headache. I had hoped I had just bought a dud copy, but the rental I made to compare games was just as bad.

Why is this game like this. Because the people who wrote the code for the game were sloppy and the game was released before a decent, clean bug free code was written for it. Obviously someone wanted to make some quick money and ended up churning out a lousy game.

A shame because this as well as the first version would be very fun to play if you could get anywhere without having to continually restart the xbox.

The graphics are not super magnificent, nor is this game worth the cost. For a game with half as many missions as the first one, you would think they would charge less than almost full cost, like maybe half price for half the game?????

The first game, though crashed alot, though not as much, at least had some character and a good story line. This game is exactly the same thing based in Cuba, trying to stabilize the country after Castro had died. It is hard for this game to keep your interest (especially when you have to keep restarting it).

In summary: what a pity they had to settle for trying to collect fast cash selling this game while still pre-mature and turning out such a dog of a game when they could have made it a really good one with more effort and time.

Rent this- don't waste your money!!!

From what I played, this is bad

This game looked really cool and was about Army Special Forces so I bought it to give Socom 2 a little break. So I take it home and as many know online is always better than single player so I hook it up on xbox live. The first thing I didn't like was the slow movement in the strafing, side to side. Here is the killer though, I didn't play the game long enough to find out if the whole online was respawn, if it is this is the dumbest shooter game I have ever played online. While I was playing all the other team did was camp at my respawn and shoot me in the back!! The majority of my time played was spent respawning. I am only going to say this once and I am only going to say this once, if you want to play online just rent the game to find out you don't like it but make sure you rent the game to find out if it is for you. As for me, I will stick to Socom 2.
