Ok game with amazing graphics. In ghost recon you kill kill and kill thats it. kinda boring. The multi player sucks. A must get game is rainbow six three. Best game ever for online. During missions you can talk to your computer team and give them commands through a xbox live communicator.

I purchased this game to try out on my Xbox Live and I was almost angry at how dumb the game was. If you actually find somebody that plays this game online, it's still not any fun. I am not a follower of the Tom Clancy series (with the exception of Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory was awesome), and though I never tried the single player aspect, this game was a complete let-down. Do not waste your time and money on this game, I can't believe those people who rated this game higher than 2 stars...

Great game, loads of hours of playing. Better than the first one, not quite as good as the #2 release. If you are playing 2 and have never tried it, it is worth picking up for your collection. Online play is decent too.

Island Thunder is an excellent release that should be considered if you're trying to hunt down some intense Ghost Recon action for your Xbox. With a mix of weapons and maps from three other games, Island Thunder delivers the variety missing from the original.

IT plays much like the original. Translation: running around in wide open areas is nothing less than asking to be shot in the head. IT rewards patience, strategic thinking. Careful planning is a must when facing human opponents or more advanced AI. IT also includes more weapon sets and maps for multiplayer competition, significantly expanding the possible game play combinations: you can be playing in a Cuban city one minute, the jungle the next minute, and in the desert the next. Learning to effectively manage your squads can take time to master, but it is very rewarding once you manage to adeptly execute your plans.

Island Thunder's graphics have not had any noticeable upgrades from last year's release.
What about sound? IT features some of the best ambient sounds and sound effects of any game, hands down. The variety of locations that are featured in this game equates to an even greater breadth of ear-candy to be had than in the original, which was already an impressive audio feast.

While Island Thunder features a good deal of new content as well as the latest Xbox LIVE functionality, it might not offer enough to appeal to gamers who are still actively playing the original. IT is definitely geared towards LIVE online play, despite the fair campaign mode. Players without a LIVE account might find that there is not enough in the stand-alone single player portion of the game to warrant a purchase. But for anyone looking for a great tactical shooter, you can't go wrong with Island Thunder. This title is also backwards compatible with the Xbox 360.

A bit of a rip off...

I never expected something "better" than Ghost Recon (which in of itself is a terrific game and one of my favorites) just more of the same; that is, new maps and missions. Unfortunately, there's only eight new maps on the disk, basically forcing you into XBox Live to get 9 more: that is the part I thought is a [...] - these should've been on the disk and then maybe 2 more on Live. It seemed to me that enemy AI is a bit better and they certainly have learned how to aim better too... This should be 5 stars but gets dropped to 3 because of the download ....

Too easy!

The gameplay and graphics are great! BUT the amount of missions is weak. In the campaign mode there are only like 8 missions. The first one had a lot more missions to complete, and it had a lot more stuff to open up by completing different missions in your dossier. I'm sure it is good if you have the xbox live, but if you don't have it, it is really easy. I beat all the missions on elite the first time through, so it took me like an hour and a half to beat the whole game. Good to rent but wouldn't recommend buying it.
