Almost as good as the 360 version

I first played this impressive game on the Xbox 360. I haven't broken down and bought the 360 yet so I figured that I would give it a whirl on the PSP that I own. WOW!! This game is hours of fun. Great graphics and control. You have to love the 'Crash' mode where you try to cause the most insane wreck. Buses, semis, and cars create a pile of twisted metal that makes me smile!! Check this game out. Plus the price is right.

A must own for the PSP

I've only played one Burnout and its the one for the 360 (not Paradise). So when I began to purchase this game I thought to myself that there is no way that the game could be as fun. The action is just to fast and crashes were to extravagant.

Well I was wrong.

Even though you are flying at break neck speeds, the game doesnt get choppy and you can also see everything going on (in reason of course). I was very surprised. Also the crashes are great. The slow-mo camera is there and zooms around your car or the oppenents cars when they crash and go flying into the air.

Also there are different types of events, where I thought it would be just racing.

There is your tyical racing, then you have rage mode (where you have to take out your oppenent by wrecking them), pursuit (where you are a cop chasing down an opponent trying to wreck him), grand prix (you have to place in the top in a total of 3 races), time mode (where you race the clock), and the ever so popular CRASH mode. Crash mode is just a fun (and sometimes strategical) part of the game where you take your car, blaze into traffic, and try to cause the most damage you can to win a gold medal. Very fun and very addicting. Plus this part only takes a few minutes, so it's great when you dont have much time to actually play.

The graphics are amazing. I was really wow'd by them. Then again I havent played much on my PSP since I just got it a few weeks ago except for Ratchet and Clank, Dexter, and Infected.

The only gripe I would have is, you'd think they give you an option to listen to your own tunes on the game. Yes the game has a decent soundtrack as is, but still... it'd be nice to listen to my own songs while flying down major streets in oncoming traffic.

Highly recommended.

Burnout.. more about crashes than cars and racing..

I bought this game as my first game on my new PSP.. I bought it coz of the high reviews that this game got.. I was a regular player of NFS in PC.. So what i used to love is more of cars, tuning then choosing real-time cars and hardcore "Racing".. NFS was more realistic. When i played Burnout for the first time i was frankly disappointed that there were no real-time car, no hard-core racing but the main focus of the game was crashing.. Well i definitely had fun but after playing for 3 hrs all this crashing got on my nerves..

Now let me be fair and talk about this game.. The gameplay is simply amazing.. The graphics are too good, Never thought the PSP was so capable. Options are plenty, though most of them are locked and you have to win them.. I have no complaints in the technicalities of this game its great in its own way.. It just depends on you.. If you wan a game where you have to keep crashing and banging other cars to win and get more points then this is probably the best game for you.. But if you are a NFS fan and expect more of racing and realtime cars then probably this game would just add to your collections.

Graphics - 4/5
Gameplay - 4/5
Difficulty of game - Easy.
Load time - Not much (I was surprised)

Over all, i recommend this if you like "crashing".. I ordered NFS underground rivals, Carbon and GTA liberty after playing for 2 days.. Prob i play Burnout only when i need stress relief.. Go crashing and happy gaming..

Great, but not for me

I bought this game by the reviews here and I was expecting something different. It's not as fun for me as I thought it would...but it doesn't mean that I won't reccomend this. My little nephew LOVES the game and I did find the crashes kind of fun to look at. It just got old after awhile. But overall the game IS worth the buy and I'm sure that you'll enjoy it. :)

High Octane Fun!

What is a recipe for a good racing game? Is it good graphics? Fast Cars? Ability to vaporize your opposition? You name it---Burnout Legends has it all and then some! Blend in the easy to use controls and this game will keep you busy for hours, because it has something for everyone. Also, lets not forget the ability of PSP to PSP multiplayer mode. However, I must warn that its very difficult to find otehr online foes.

My favorite part of the game? Crash Mode, of course! This is a collection of 100 or so mini-missions, where you must use your car to cause as much damage as possible in a crowded area full of vehicles ranging from compact cars to huge busses.

Also, the more you play, the more points you earn. The more points you earn, the more vehickles you unlock.

If you are a fan of Grand Theft Auto, Carmageddon and other similar genre games, you just HAVE TO give this game a try. If you don't, you are missing out a lot!

Super Game with Lots of Replayability

Legends has taken over the crown as THE racing game on the PSP platform. Ridge Racer was serviceable, but the variety of racing game types in Legends is unmatched. HIGHLY recommended for all racing fans who are tired of the old, traditional racers.

Life like action!

Wow!! This game really is fun. Although it was a gift for my 9 yr old son, I play this game all the time and find myself having trouble putting it down. The graphics are so real! When you crash, it is so real looking, it is actually SCARY! It is worth the money, just for the graphics!!

Full of action

Very fun racing with great crashes. Lots of different modes and cars makes the replay value very high.

This game has great action and car damage. There are lots of different sub-games, all of which are fun. Ridge Racer has a more realistic racing feel to it, but this is more fun with the explosions and car damage. This is a keeper.

My only complaint would be the load times in between such short games. I feel like I spend half my time waiting for the next game to start.

Incredible fun, but only for a short while

Like "Burnout 3" for the larger consoles, "Burnout Legends" is an incredibly fun game for a few hours or maybe a few days. It's the same formula as in the previous Burnout titles: you basically crash into other vehicles and try to inflict as much damage and mayhem as you can.

Unfortunately, that's about it. It's fun and exciting enough for me to give it four stars, but I believe this is really a rental title. If you buy it, you are wasting your money. The fun and excitement wane quickly and the gameplay grows old fast. For me, after a couple days of knocking out other vehicles and setting off chaos, I had had enough. There's actually a wealth of "missions" included, but they are all similar to one another, so for me, the allure of completing them all simply wasn't a big draw.

In summary, a really fun game for driving game lovers looking for a little action on the PSP, but it's just a rental title.
