Great way to relieve road rage!!

I own several of the Burnout series games for the PS2. I recently purchased a PSP (Sony should be paying ME at this point!) and got Legends. This is a GREAT version of the Burnout series! The UI is a little klunky, but the game itself is great. Very responsive and the graphics are excellent. It IS kind of hard to see traffic ahead of you, but it's not much more difficult than playing the PS2 versions! I definately recommend!!

A Legendary Ride

Burnout Legends is an incredible racing game; the ultimate in fun, tire-screaming, opponent-wrecking driving. In fact, this title is so enjoyable, so visceral and rewarding, you might never want to play the unforgiving Gran Turismo series again! Even among the other Burnout titles, Legends has no peer. It takes most of its gameplay from Burnout 3: Takedown (PS2 and Xbox), which is widely considered to be the best of the series (superior to Dominator, Revenge, and even the recent Paradise City). Even years after its original release, this is still the most fun you can have in a racing game... and it will take you an incredibly long time to unlock everything!

A must own for the PSP

I've only played one Burnout and its the one for the 360 (not Paradise). So when I began to purchase this game I thought to myself that there is no way that the game could be as fun. The action is just to fast and crashes were to extravagant.

Well I was wrong.

Even though you are flying at break neck speeds, the game doesnt get choppy and you can also see everything going on (in reason of course). I was very surprised. Also the crashes are great. The slow-mo camera is there and zooms around your car or the oppenents cars when they crash and go flying into the air.

Also there are different types of events, where I thought it would be just racing.

There is your tyical racing, then you have rage mode (where you have to take out your oppenent by wrecking them), pursuit (where you are a cop chasing down an opponent trying to wreck him), grand prix (you have to place in the top in a total of 3 races), time mode (where you race the clock), and the ever so popular CRASH mode. Crash mode is just a fun (and sometimes strategical) part of the game where you take your car, blaze into traffic, and try to cause the most damage you can to win a gold medal. Very fun and very addicting. Plus this part only takes a few minutes, so it's great when you dont have much time to actually play.

The graphics are amazing. I was really wow'd by them. Then again I havent played much on my PSP since I just got it a few weeks ago except for Ratchet and Clank, Dexter, and Infected.

The only gripe I would have is, you'd think they give you an option to listen to your own tunes on the game. Yes the game has a decent soundtrack as is, but still... it'd be nice to listen to my own songs while flying down major streets in oncoming traffic.

Highly recommended.

This game is probably the best Burnout game in my opinion. Crash mode is just a blast to play especially if you have the firetruck!

Great game, great buy!

I got this game when it came out, and I am still enjoying it today. I play it every time I go on a road trip. It has A TON of levels (all different), a couple different modes, and 4 or 5 different car classes. You seriously can't get a better deal than this.

Lots of fun...

Finally got the PSP for Christmas and had to figure out what some good starter games would be... Well, after reading a bunch of reviews, I had to get Burnout Legends! After a few weeks...this game is awesome! So much fun and very difficult to put down! Easy to learn, fun to play, yet some challenge mix in it all.

Definitely recommend this title!

Must have for a racing fan!!

Burnout Legends is as awesome as its console cousins in basically everything. My big complaint against the game is the fact it's basically a port of Burnout 3: Takedown(PS2,Xbox) with the soundtrack of Burnout Revenge(Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2). Other than that it's a solid handheld racer that's easy to pick up and play and it still is an exhilarating and destructive racing game that never gets old. This is one of the best handheld games you can purchase and is well worth the money. This is the perfect game to play on some kind of vacation as well. So if you think you need something new to play on your PSP, this is your game.

This game exceeded my expectations. Great gameplay and great music. It has that "just one more race" quality that keeps me coming back for more.

As with a lot of PSP games, load times can be an issue, but honestly it doesn't seem much worse than the PS2 version of Burnout 3 (which is the only other Burnout game I own). In short, the load times are tolerable (and they give you a chance to rest your hands).

The music is great (I think about 20 tracks) and you can turn off tracks you don't like (though so far, I've only disabled one song).

There is a newer Burnout game for the PSP (Burnout Dominator), but supposedly that game doesn't include the crashbreaker mode so I went with the older version.

My one complaint is that on some tracks at high speeds it can be difficult to tell which way to turn in certain spots until it is too late if you haven't memorized the track (and with so many tracks, it would be difficult to memorize them all). I've also noticed that in some cases it seems slightly easier to crash another car than I recall from Burnout 3, but this doesn't detract from gameplay.
