The gameplay is fine but the graphics could have been better and the frames are'nt all that great. also, clipping problems are present. overall, i like it ok.

A surefire way to get hemorrhoids...

As a longtime fan of the Burnout series, I have to say that I've been very pleased with the PSP version of the game. It translates very well to a handheld. It's just as fun as any of the other Burnouts, and is just as addictive as, let's say, Lumines for the PSP. In fact, if you play your PSP while on the toilet, Burnout Legends is a great way to get hemmorrhoids. Expect a long bathroom experience.

If you're looking for great games for the PSP, this is one of them (easily placed alongside Lumines and Mercury).

Best Burnout Game...?

The Burnout series has been on my list of greatest racing games since Burnout 1, which was a super sleeper hit. Although Burnout was lacking in a lot of things, it had potential. I didn't think a second game would EVER come out, but to my suprise one DID come out. Burnout 2: Point of Impact ( My favorite Burnout game besides Burnout Legends PSP ) That game got a lot of praise, and soon enough, Burnout Takedown came out, and just recently, Burnout Revenge. However, Burnout Legends is a handheld exclusive ( PSP and DS only, but the DS version really stinks. )

Graphics: 8.5/10. Probably the low point of the game. This may be confusing; but Burnout Legends in my opinion is THE BEST looking PSP game available, but I give it an 8.5 simply because of glitches. If you are riding up against a wall or something, you can see through them and stuff, just like if you take someone out against a barrier or a wall, their car will often fall through a glitch. It isn't a bad thing really, it just kinda shows a car falling through blue sky. Moving on!

Sound: 9.5/10. At first the soundtrack I thought was horrible except for Goldfinger's song "I Want", but that isn't really true. After listening to the songs over and over again, i found myself singing some of the songs at home (D'oh.) The soundtrack is all new songs that weren't on any other Burnout. Besides the music, all the other sounds are in there, they are pretty much exactly the same as the console versions, they sound very good.

Control: 9/10. Can it get too much easier? In standard driving mode, X to drive, D-Pad or Analog nub to manuever, square to brake, and R to turbo; that's pretty much it. It's very simple, although the game isn't simple.

Fun: 9.5/10. Not suprisingly, this was an amazing game, Suprisingly though, is how well the frame rate holds out. You can literally be taking down cars over and over again and there will rarely be any lag on screen. Due to the fact the PSP's screen is so well sized, you can easily see cars well up the road. ( assuming your face is on screen into action, like mine. ) Many people say this is not worth more than a rental. Uh.. wrong. It is pretty much impossible to even beat this game in a rental period because it's so in depth. I've played it fairly often since christmas ( I have 4 other PSP games ) and I'm only 18 percent through the game. This is simply an amazing game, and a true PSP gem. A must buy for a PSP owner, no doubt.

Great game, but with problems

This is my first game for the PSP, so i'm not going to say this is the best or the worst.Instead, I will just list what I believe to be the pros and cons.

PROS:
-Very, very,very,very,very,very,very,very fun
-I found it (usually) easy to control
-Many cool cars
-crash mode is awsome
-pursuit mode, though hard(unless you know the easy way...), is a very fun addition
-it's very true to the original burnout games
-many hours of play

CONS:
-Road rage is a pain in the ***, and unless you're REALLY good at them, in later stages you'll almost never get past silver
-Burning Lap, though I find them eaiser than in Burnout 3, are still a pain in the ***, especially the early ones.
-For some reason,I find that trying to get the signature takedowns are harder in this game than in Burnout 3
-The 2 first stages of cars really suck
-Crash mode isn't as fun as it used to be, and the camera doesn't follow the action well at all.
-The Legend,i.e the new, cars, except for the j-super, aren't that good.
-The tour can be finished fairly quickly, and there's not a lot of replay value, unless you want to get all the extra cars.
-The game doesn't give you all the collector cars, and it gives you those cars at random; so if you want to get the famed green-and-blue coupe, but you only have the stars-and-stripes car, and you don't know anybody with this game, good luck.
-Framerate is a real issue. I found if there's a lot of action on the screen, the game will become slurpy slow. This can be a real big problem during road rage.
-The circuit racers, and Hot Rod, really suck, except for the cop racer. Unfortunatly, I have not gottten the Euro racer or any other "extra" cars yet.
-What the **** is mirror mode!!??!! I still can't figure out what it is, and I can't turn it off!!

Because I am in the middle of nowhere(my town only has a pop. of 150!!), I still have not been able to try multiplayer, so you'll have to figure that out for yourself. I hope this review helps.

Burnout Legends.......

Clearly, Burnout Legends is more of a 'Best-Of' racer that features tracks from all the previous Burnout games on the consoles. Yet, even so, this game smokes and is one of the best racing games currently available for the Playstation Portable. Everything from the sense of speed to the nerve-wrecking crashes to the gorgeous tracks and scenery are all here. Even the EA Trax soundtrack has some heavyhitters on it; like Goldfinger, Finch, Junkie XL and more. Even the load times are kept to a minimum(which is my biggest problem with racing games for the system) It's everything you'd expect a Burnout game to be on the PSP and more. There's 175 races & crash events as well as multiplayer races for up to six players.

On the downside, Burnout Legends suffers from frame rate problems here and there. That's the biggest flaw I've noticed with Legends, so far.

If you're a big racing fan and have a Playstation Portable, Give Burnout Legends a shot. It might leave your stomach all tied up in knots but you'll keep coming back for more...I assure you.

great game
pros: great graphics, a sense of speed, aggresive opponents, pursuit mode, mostly smooth gameplay
cons: occasional lag in gameplay, traffic is hard to see ( their headlights are on and you race during daytime), opponents automaticall catch up to you at unreal speeds even though you just rammed them off a tralier and have the NOS on
i recomend this game to all people who have desires to go fast

Good PSP Racer

This game has great action and car damage. There are lots of different sub-games, all of which are fun. Ridge Racer has a more realistic racing feel to it, but this is more fun with the explosions and car damage. This is a keeper.

My only complaint would be the load times in between such short games. I feel like I spend half my time waiting for the next game to start.

Incredible fun, but only for a short while

Like "Burnout 3" for the larger consoles, "Burnout Legends" is an incredibly fun game for a few hours or maybe a few days. It's the same formula as in the previous Burnout titles: you basically crash into other vehicles and try to inflict as much damage and mayhem as you can.

Unfortunately, that's about it. It's fun and exciting enough for me to give it four stars, but I believe this is really a rental title. If you buy it, you are wasting your money. The fun and excitement wane quickly and the gameplay grows old fast. For me, after a couple days of knocking out other vehicles and setting off chaos, I had had enough. There's actually a wealth of "missions" included, but they are all similar to one another, so for me, the allure of completing them all simply wasn't a big draw.

In summary, a really fun game for driving game lovers looking for a little action on the PSP, but it's just a rental title.

Burnout Legends is one of the best racing games I have ever played. I am a very busy college student, but if I get a couple of free minutes I find myself reaching for my PSP, so I can play Burnout Legends. Very addicting and a good buy.

Burnout.. more about crashes than cars and racing..

I bought this game as my first game on my new PSP.. I bought it coz of the high reviews that this game got.. I was a regular player of NFS in PC.. So what i used to love is more of cars, tuning then choosing real-time cars and hardcore "Racing".. NFS was more realistic. When i played Burnout for the first time i was frankly disappointed that there were no real-time car, no hard-core racing but the main focus of the game was crashing.. Well i definitely had fun but after playing for 3 hrs all this crashing got on my nerves..

Now let me be fair and talk about this game.. The gameplay is simply amazing.. The graphics are too good, Never thought the PSP was so capable. Options are plenty, though most of them are locked and you have to win them.. I have no complaints in the technicalities of this game its great in its own way.. It just depends on you.. If you wan a game where you have to keep crashing and banging other cars to win and get more points then this is probably the best game for you.. But if you are a NFS fan and expect more of racing and realtime cars then probably this game would just add to your collections.

Graphics - 4/5
Gameplay - 4/5
Difficulty of game - Easy.
Load time - Not much (I was surprised)

Over all, i recommend this if you like "crashing".. I ordered NFS underground rivals, Carbon and GTA liberty after playing for 2 days.. Prob i play Burnout only when i need stress relief.. Go crashing and happy gaming..
