Mocchi's not monotonous, but some things are.

The game all together is a good game, but there could have been so much more done with it. The only interaction you have with your monster is when it asks YOU to play games with it. Otherwise, you can only tell it how to fight, and you can't play with it. All you can do is give it things to do an watch it. interaction is limited to giving. You have to battle to get the money your monster needs for food, or you can sell them to get money. Also, many people get this confused. You can't get thousands of different monsters, you are limited to the 418 (I think) in the game that you can make, and you can't unlock all of them until you perform certain tasks. So, playing the game can get monotounous, but they have a good base, they just need to work on it. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I've played this game a lot. I've gotten monsters like Hengar and Ghost. It is so much fun to train them. If you like the Tamagotchis and you like battling this is the game for you. The graphics aren't to bad but the sound is almost soothing. This is a great game to buy. I recommend you buy it not rent it. Oh yeah and you also might want another memory card. The most fun in the game is starting out so you can find out everything. Also the getting the monsters at the Shrine is also cool. Whatever you think is the best part all you got to do is buy it. If you like Pokemon this is also a great game for you to buy. I'm not saying you have to but if you do you'll like this game and appreciate it more. This a great game after the Monster Rancher so get Monster Rancher 2 where ever you can.

This game is dangerous! It's impossible to stop playing. Monster Rancher 2 was the first Monster Rancher game that I had ever played, and I was in awe! The idea of removing the disc so often (and have the game still work) was foreign to me, but I loved it. Although spinning all of those discs can get frustrating sometimes, you quickly get the hang of it. (I've spent up to 6 hours at a time removing the game, putting in a CD, etc!) The result of your hard work is quite rewarding. Some of the great features of this game: 408 total different monsters; Combining monsters; Monster playtime (have snowball fights!); Long gameplay; FUN! This is by far my favorite Monster Rancher game!

Raise, Train, Battle, and Play with Your Monster

Extremely enjoyable and addictive game. Like many games of this type, you must patiently raise your monster's battling statistics and gain new techniques through training drills, etc. Unlike other games, you get to "play" with your monster and treat it well, praise it, or otherwise raise or lower it's like or dislike and loyalty to you. You may even gain an emotional attachment to your monster (my seven year old did). On major drawback to this game: The monsters only live a very short period of time. Usually three "years" or less. The harsher you treat your monster, the lower the lifespan and vice versa. Be sure to look up info on the WWW for this game. Not everything is explained in full detail.

If you like simulations I'm going to assume you already own this. If not-this is definitely worth your investment, although I have to warn you-you may sit down to play "just for a bit" and before you know it 4 hours have passed. I lent this to a friend of mine and he told me I may as well have given him heroin. The best part about this game is that the possiblities are absolutely endless-I've had the 1st one for 3 years now and still constantly play it. Even if you're generally not a fan of simulations this is a MUST HAVE!!! You will want to try generating a monster from every CD in your collection (games and music) if only to see what the outcome is.

Addictive!!

I bought this game on a whim and thought I would try it out. I've haven't been able to put it down since. The gameplay is very simply based, yet quite effective. The option of making a monster from your personal CD collection is quite an innovative concept. The fact that each monster is different also makes the game more innovative, and vastly increases the replay value! This has definately become my favorite game ever! Also, it is a bit less expensive than most Playstation games, which helps. I would highly recommend owning this game! It is definately one of the best titles to come out of the TECMO studios!

Monster Rancher 2 is a fun game, but it's different from Monster Rancher 3 and Monster Rancher Advance, but almost the same as Monster Rancher 1. The thing is you can't unlick a monster and keep it in your book(in Monster Rancher 3 it's an encyclopedia.) It is the hardest of the three... Although, you usually dont't get succsesses and never get greats. Of the three, not counting Monster Rancher 1, is the best Monster Rancher Game.

OK,look,i'm tired of reading stupid reviews for this game. This'll be the only one u need to read. There are 3 ways to get monsters 1)Go to a place called the shrine and put in another CD,it'll read some info, and there,u got a monster 2)buy one from the market and 3)freeze 2 monsters and combine them, the game will give u odds of what monsters u'll get.It has pretty good graphics, and great game play. When u get a monster u train it in speed, intelligence, power, and other things.Don't get to happy,u have to buy it food, and toys, but somtimes u play games with it.There are missions they call errentries or somthing like that that helps your monster learn new attacks. There are some monsters that u have to have a certin CD to get, like one i suggest u get,Beck's Mellow Gold gets u Moo,a very strong monster.

Monster rancher2 is one of the best monster raising games out. This game offers 3 ways to get monsters. One way isto go to the market and buy one. as the saesons change so does one monster. Then combing monsters and finally going to the shrine and using household cds to unlock monsters. Then you have to raise the monster by either drilling or sending it on an errantry. During errantry you can gain new skills.Somtimes you`ll be asked to go on an adventure. you can gain valubale items here such as the phenoix feather. You also fight in tourneys. your goal is to win in the major 4. Don`t overwork your monster or it may DIE.
